Welcome to the OOC thread of Rift. The roleplay is here and the sign-ups are here. You can talk about anything Rift-related here.

You may ask for certain ranks, make suggestions, ask for character interactions including family members and partners/love interests here. If you beg for any of these you will be asked to stop and further action may be taken if you continue.

Surf this post and this post before asking any plot-related questions!

Thank you. I'll update ranks right now and I'll introduce my characters tomorrow in the roleplay thread, thank you all for being patient! Going to try and wait at least one more day for a human leader!

This looks so good hut I'm afraid I'm not active enough on LD to ever keep up with this roleplay, discord has become my home. Maybe at some point in time, I may join! Until then, I wish your roleplay luck and I hope it grows tremendously!

Thank you! <3 I understand! My roleplays are usually quite slow-paced if you ever want to try one out, don't feel pressured to do so though.

My condolences Sleep, take your time! I'm going to do my best to complete my current bio and then add a character to the other two groups as well tomorrow.

I have to ask, before posting in the RP thread. For most of the questions commons sense can be used, but I want to be on the safe side.

1. The huts or houses that the human live in, is it up to each of their own to decide how well furnished they are? I mean nothing extravagant, but more like made/found/traded and such. +Warmth, I mean, is it common to have a safe or safer way to warm up their living space or is it more of a luxury?

2. In the settlements how many other npc (or, not played at least) is there? If any?

3. Livestock, and crops, do they have any and if so, how much. If animals survived and they obtained any, since it feels quite risky for the humans to hunt enough (I just assume that they have to go outside the walls for this) to sub stain a whole settlement.

4. I guess that the residents of the human settlement have more work like things to do during the day. I just wanted to check if this is the case, if it worked if Erin could work with repairing clothing and fabrics, either with already scavenged fabrics or hides/plants. (I'm trying to not go to much into detail, emphasis on trying)

5. Weapons. I mean for those who doesn't have a gun, such again -surprise, guessing again- as a resident, is it reasonable that they have knives, makeshift knives ect? For protecting themselves if they go out to the forest or just in case if cryptids got in to the city.

Again, I'm more or less asking questions that the answers is more common sense, but want to be on board with everyone else :)

I like those questions! Helps imagine it too.

I too am thinking about the employment that the characters would have too.

Oh mood-
I'd love to see smaller branches of work within the communities, especially when not much is going on, yknow? kinda adds a nice ambiance to everything, little shops, first-aid areas, things like herding a pray source, etc. just small random things, but stuff to add onto the surroundings a bit

It's totally up to you how their homes are furnished, as long as they don't have a rhinestone toilet ofc. Higher ranking members would of course have more intricate things like fireplaces but wood-burning stoves are common, as well as community fire barrels or pits.

Your characters can take up any craft you'd like in the roleplay as long as it fits their role and is feasible with their current circumstances.

If a role isn't filled or your character interacts with a craftsmen, guard, etc. it's fine to use NPC's and there would be quite a few in that case. If you character is from a certain settlement, NPC's from other settlements interacting with them should be few and far between because it can cause unneeded drama in the roleplay (though I'm open to changing that, if people have different opinions.)

Since the humans live in the city I would say crops would have to be quite small such as corn, tomatoes, beans etc. but crops during the cold season would be rather sparse in all the settlements (unless they were preserved). All clans would rely on grains more than vegetables or fruit. Livestock would be quite uncommon due to the limited space though dogs, cats and small livestock such as pigs, goats and chickens could work, as well as horses (possibly) in the human settlement. (I'm open to opinions on that as well.) The pack and clan can tend their own farms but they would mostly rely on the forest and cryptids to feed them. Also, I'm pretty sure mounts would be pretty useless in the shapeshifter and werewolves' communities.

The humans with guns would mostly be the sentries/guards and higher ups. All members from all settlements can carry their own weapons and knives, bows, axes, spears, etc. are all open to be used.
