Kyrie Sure! they're PWYW and not all are guaranteed for a chocobo btw :> First Explore The woods is thick with mist, hiding whatever dangers that lurk nearby. You hurry your pace, trying to reach the lake before things go downhill. It's hard to navigate, but you're sure that you see light! Go to it or turn away? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kyrie You approach the light, now a little more cautious. You're sure as heck that ain't an exit. You realize a bit too late that the source of light is a wraith, clearly hungry for souls. It's too dangerous to fight without a companion but you see a frightened chocobo chick hiding behind some shrubbery. If you escape, the wraith might go after it instead... You don't really know any spells, but you do know that wraiths are notoriously weak to fire! What do you do? 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 13/04/20 @ 23:22:37 by -TheCelest- (#131669) |

Well since Chocobo's are so precious I will protect the little bean! I'll try to grab them and run off with them so that we both can be safe from the wraith 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kyrie You circle the wraith, slowly inching towards the chick. The wraith finally notices the chocobo, but you're already outta' there. The chick is bundled up in your arms, some of its longer tail feathers tickling your neck. Aw, it's taken a liking to you! We'll take care of it till' you're done with your other exploration trips! Second Explore Now you know a wraith is roaming the woods, you tread more carefully. This time, you reach Vesperpool unharmed! The other side of the lake looks much too far to reach before sundown, maybe next time... Anyways, there doesn't seem to be anything of interest here, so you explore farther around the lakeshore. Before long, you start to hear shrill cries in the trees. It's lizardlike, but you're sure it's not a Sahagin. It's much worse. A kingatrice lumbers out of the woods, every step sending waves rippling through the lake's surface. Your first instinct is to curse your luck, coming across two monsters in a day. Your second is to run, but your third forces you to stand your ground. You see that the regal beast limps, with blood streaks running across his feathers. Approaching it might disable you from exploring a third time, but still... 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kyrie The kingatrice spots you and it's scaly tail begins to lash wildly. It's hard to imagine any way out of this, but well, here we go. You approach the wounded monster, wishing with every breath that the beast decides to trust you. Obviously, the kingatrice gets more agitated as you approach, but it also quickly notices that you're unarmed. You try to talk to it, and it barely understands, but it lowers its head anyways to keep eye-level. The two of you stand in place for a while before the kingatrice relents, showing you his wounded wing. You pull out a medkit you brought along. Suprisingly, there's enough bandage rolls to fully cover his wing. The kingatrice is quiet and still the whole time your working, strangely unlike others of his kind. You dust of your hands and the beast gets back onto his feet. Without his limp, he towers over you, almost thrice of your own height. He lets out a deep roar, now noticably louder. Bowing to you, he leaves you some sort of book! With that, it takes off, leaving some feathers behind as well. Kingatrice Feather; It's pretty fancy, perfect for DIY projects! The book is a little suspicious, we'll have to examine it first... Third Explore This time, you bring a stick with you. It's probably pretty brittle, but it's better than nothing. You're sure, with your sort of luck, that you'll run into another monster in the woods. But the thing is, there's no other way to reach Vesperpool. Hmm. You can try another part of the woods maybe! Kyrie The light streams in with ease this time, the foliage above not as thick as you recall. The walk through the woods was oddly serene, which you won't be complaining about anytime soon. The Vesperpool greets you with a beautiful shade of red as the sun shines it final rays for the day. The area is growing dark, but lucky for you, Vesperpool's dangers hunt at day. You'll still have to watch out for one or two of the night owls, but things look pretty good at the moment. Listening intently, you put an ear out for chocobo calls or even their signature 'kweh'. When the moon is finally out, you spot a chocobo. It was out in the open, perhaps confident that it could ward off nocturnal enemies. Which probably means this one's a fighter... how do you plan on approaching it? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hm, I'd try to go slowly as a means of trying to not spook it, and also try to make myself come off as not a threat to the chocobo 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kyrie You decide, after a long thought process, that the best way to proceed...is to don a fully-fledged chocobo costume. It's tacky and has a chance close to zero of working, but the moon is high above you and you just wanna' cuddle with some biRBS. You approach the dark-feathered bird, bobbing your head up and down to simulate the chocobo appeal. The black chocobo watches you, not because it thinks you're of her kind, but rather out of amusement. You wave your hands around, mostly to show that you're not a threat, but also to attempt to dance. The real chocobo starts to dance along and you suddenly realize what a scene this would be to a spectator. But, whatever. You've found a floofy bird, and that's what counts. Also, an update on that book! After studying it, referring to the split-second we took to skim the text, we found that it's an old learning tome! Beginner's Tome [Fira]; Learning a simple fire spell's bound to be useful while exploring! Another quick question, do you wanna': a) Craft a decor with the Kingatrice Feather? b) Gift it to the chocobo chick? (not sure what that'll do...) 0 players like this post! Like? |
