Yet Another Art Contest from me! I've been wanting more Dragon OCs/Characters.. And since i kinda suck on drawing dragons.. Why not Art Contest for some §What are Dragons?- A dragon is a large, serpentine legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures around the world. A legendary monster usually conceived as a huge, bat-winged, fire-breathing, scaly lizard or snake with a barbed tail and Dragons in eastern cultures are usually depicted as wingless, four-legged, serpentine creatures with above-average intelligence. The earliest attested reports of draconic creatures resemble giant snakes. §Why Dragons?- I love the aspect of "mythical but could be real" of the creatures. They dont get enough love - as far as art goes you dont see too many dragon OCs out there! Dragon Characters to look at; Igneel or Acnologia or any dragon from Fairy Tail Trico from the Last Guardian Haku from Spirited Away Toothless or any How to Train of Dragon Dragons (love the movie) ¤Rules 1. Feral Design - NO Anthro. 2. Original Art - NO Pre-made Lineart. 3. Since I'd probably get more art of them - I'd prefer Ref sheet or Fullbody. 4. You can enter multiple times - But Win Once! 5. Traditional or Digital - As Long as its Colored! 6. You gotta be okay with me posting to TH or other places (you will be credited) 7. Prizes & End Date are subject to change if needed. ΩWhat I LikeΩ °Weird/Creepy/Tragic Looks (Mouth Tail, Multi-Eyed, Split Mouth) °Looks as has a Tragic Backstory (Injuries, Missing Limbs/Skin, Scars, Exposed Bone) °If you wanna create ^ Tragic Backstory you can °Preferably Scaled - But Feathers/Fur is fine. °Things that move with emotion (Frills that open when angry, quills that stand up or go down, Spikes, Marks that glow) °Big Teeth/Fangs, Big Claws/Talons, Big Horns °Gradient or Multi-Coloured Marks °Neutral Bases with Coloured Marks °Optional - If you wanna give the dragon a little pet or friend °Optional - Adding a human to dragon scale for size °Optional - Shapeshifter (Between Human & Dragon - Show Human Look) *might add more* θWhat I Don't Likeθ ·Inaccurate Wings/Body Shapes (Unless Hybrid) ·Complicated Markings (Keeping it simple is better - dont need 20 marks) ·Red & Blue next to each other (hurts eyes) *might add more* ฯPrizes & Moreฯ First Place 80GB Second Place 40GB Third Place 20GB Maybe Fourth Place If you win any place & wanna do a better or more detailed ref sheet, or another piece of art for your character - let me know!! I created a sort of water-dragon creature for my entry! They have a distinctive, long and flat snout and a protruding jaw below with many sharp teeth, similar to a Goblin Shark. Despite having four eyes, their eyesight is minimal, and they rely on scent rather than sight to find their meals. They are red in color due to an adaptation as red light does not penetrate the deep sea. This makes them nearly invisible to other creatures and gives them an advantage in hunting. When pulled to the surface, their skin appears bright red and slimy; however underwater they appear nearly black. They are solitary creatures due to the scarce amount of food, and they are often aggressive if they come across another of their kind. This one appears to have been in more than one fight in its lifetime. Transparent version Version with background 0 players like this post! Like? |

Link to entry This is mine! Although they have multiple eyes on their heads, they can't see very well, and their field of vision is minimalist, with several blind spots. Because of this, they have evolved to have three eyeballs on their tails, which they can swing around to get a better view of everything. The rhinestone on their head glows to illuminate things and make it easier on their eyes! When emotions are running high, the rhinestones on their heads flash different colors rapidly. Those high in the social hierarchy (which is similar to those of the wolves) will typically have small winged companions, hence the flying fox. 0 players like this post!  My entry! Tree-dwelling and anxious, they tend to be skittish in nature. Often laughed at by other species as wimps because of their somewhat meek stature, and tentative personalities, this guy has dreams of being a great warrior.
