Raven and Flint returned from patrolling, Raven looked around for their mane, “Flint, you go rest with the other adolescents, I need to speak to Flamemane.”
Flint nodded and padded to his den to rest. Raven watched him go before walking over to Flamemane’s den. Bluebrook, the prides healer, and Starwisher, the daughter of Flamemane and his deceased mate Highjumper, where chatting in front of the manes den.
“Is my father ok?” Starwisher asked, worried.
Bluebrook looked down, “He’s perfectly healthy, he’s just very old and weak. He’ll be retiring in a few days, and not long after that, his time will come to an end.”
Starwisher nodded sadly, trying to hold back tears, “I understand. He’s old and his time is almost over, it’s time he retired and let Eclipse take over anyway.”
Raven padded over to the two lionesses, “Sorry to interrupt, but I need to speak to Flamemane. Is he in his den?”
Bluebrook nodded, “Yep, he’s right in here. You may go in.” She got up and moved to the side of the entrance of the manes den to let Raven go through.
Raven smiled at her and padded into the den, “Flamemane? I wish to speak with you.”
Flamemane was laying in his nest, he lifted his head up, shaking his brimstone red mane, his tired and wrinkled eyes facing him, “Greetings, Raven. I’m guessing you have some news from your patrol?”
Raven nodded, dipping his head in respect to the old mane, “Yes, sir. I ran into White and asked him to deliver your message to Sandmane. He wanted me to ask you if you were willing to meet up with Sandmane, so he can say his final goodbyes before you pass and Eclipse takes over as mane.”
Flamemane tilted his head and thought for a moment, “That’s not a bad idea. Next time you see White, tell him I’ll be willing to meet with Sandmane tomorrow afternoon.”
Raven nodded, “I will, sir.”
Flamemane looked at him, “Very well, you are dismissed Raven, tell Eclipse about my meeting with Sandmane and see if he would like to come too.”
Raven nodded, “I will. Have a nice day, Flamemane.” He made his way out of the manes den.
“You too, Raven.” Flamemane called to him.

White looked a bit surprised when he got back to the pride with two females "didn't you two say that only one lioness and a cub joined. Why here is more than that?"White asked "why should we know we only saw one pair."Slow Web swore. Sand Mane walked to White "looks like the girls ran to you. We have a lot of new faces so be kind."Mane said with friendly calm voice. "We saw other pride's lions!"Slow Web meowed when she jumped to other adolescent females Spotted Hope quickly after her friend. Slow Web was a usually lazy but to day was a good day for her so se moved more.
"I got a message from Flamemane.."White told when the females left them finally alone. "Let's go to my den."Sand Mane said and led White to his den. Two males sat down inside the den and White started "Raven told the message that soon Flamemane will retire and Eclipse will become the new mane. I sended a question to Flamemane if he wants to meet you before that day comes." Sand Mane listened quietly and nodded "I will wait for the answer from him. You have done right when you sended the question, you know how I think."Sand Mane said from his eyes was clear that the news were a bit sad to him.

Flint was laying in his nest thinking, ‘Who were those two pretty lionesses who were with White, I want to see them again.’
Suddenly a voice broke his thoughts, “Hey Flint! How was patrol?”
Flint looked up to see his friend Surge, a fellow male adolescent who was a few months older than him.
“Patrol was fine. I met some lions from an ally pride.” Flint replied.
Surge looked at him, interest and curiosity twinkling in his eyes, “Really? Who were they? And what pride were they from?”
Flint looked up at him, “I don’t remember the name of the pride, but there was this huge white male lion named White patrolling the borders. And then later on two pretty female adolescents popped out of nowhere, I never caught their names though.”
Surge’s eyes lit up, “Oh! White is from the Lost Stars Pride, they’re lead by Sandmane. He’s really nice. They have four female adolescents, but you said you saw two, can you give me descriptions of what they look like? I can identify them for you.”
Flint looked at him, wow, Surge was really chatty today, “Sure. One of them was brown with white web like markings and the other was a pretty golden yellow.”
Surge looked at him, “Oh! The brown one is Slowweb, and the golden one is Spottedhope. They’re young huntresses in training.”
Flint nodded, thinking about the names of the pretty lionesses. Of course Surge would know them, Surge has been a patrol male longer than Flint.
Surge raised an eyebrow, “Ooooo.... you’re blushing.... are you in love with them?”
Flint panicked, he didn’t realize that he was blushing, flustered, he quickly tried to defend himself, “N-no! It’s just really hot out today! I’m not in love with them, I just think that they’re pretty and I was curious to know what their names were is all! Besides why would I be in love with lionesses with another pride?! That’s forbidden!”
Surge looked at him, curious, “Sure..... you said they were pretty so you must be attracted to them if you’re that curious about them. And yes, it’s forbidden, but hey, love is love, and we’ll be no manes soon, so no rules for us!”
Flint huffed, “No, that’s the thing they’re already in a pride, and I can’t just take them from their pride when I become a no mane! And besides I wouldn’t even dream of challenging Sandmane in the first place for his pride!”
Surge rolled his eyes, not wanting to argue, “Whatever man, I was just teasing you.” He sighed and walked away.
Flint sighed and put his head down, closing his eyes and soon falling asleep.

After the talk White walked outside and noticed White Stripe walking happily to him "want to go for a walk?"Male asked "let's go."female answered. Two of them walked outside the pride's camp when others were busy with new faces. "I'm sorry."White Stripe started "Don't. It's something will happen when a lioness is part of a pride."White said feeling a bit guilty for her feeling the need to apologize. Two lions walked calmly together in quietness.

Eclipse was chilling and chatting with some lionesses. As a primal male, he was very popular with the females, especially Spikesnapper, a pretty young adult primal female who had a huge crush on him. The other muties were big followers of his.
The piebalds: Cloudysky, Rainyday, and Eveninghunt.
Driftingshadow the young patches lioness.
Fierceripper the young primal fanged lioness.
Trailblazer the ruffled maned lioness.
And Lilacfield the fuzzy maned lioness.

Eclipse was always being either followed or surrounded by admiring females. As flattered as he was by the compliments and attention, it got to the point where it was super annoying and he needed some space and alone time.

White and White Stripe lay down to more quiet spot side to side "how was patrol today?"female asked and leaned a bit to male's side "it was okay. Not any no manes giving problems and I was able to take a message from Moonstone Pride."White told her. "did the new ones get names or did they tell their own?"White asked "They got new names. We have new hunterssess Mulberry Pelt, Light Jump, Golden Shine and Dove Flight. New friend for Slow Web and others is Strong Leap and Dove Flight's cub got a name Amethyst Light."White Stripe said.

Eclipse decided to take a walk to get away from the females, “Ugh! Sometimes I hate being a primal! I get way too much attention from the females and they won’t leave me alone! Especially Spikesnapper, she wants me to choose her as my queen/mate, just because she’s a primal like me! Ugh! Why won’t she and the others let me have some personal space?! It’s going to be much harder to get away from them when I become mane....” He sighed and padded along, finding a spot to cool down and relax.

"What do you think of them?"White asked after a moment of quiet time "They all are very beautiful. They all are friendly and kind too...just right natures to be part of us."White Stripe said "but Strong Leap said that she isn't sure if she will stay with us..so we need to wait and see,"She added. White nodded "well Sand Mane has never forced others to stay..."he said and tilted his head a bit when White Stripe started to lick his mane "you should take care of your fur..if anything happens you are kind of unoffical heir and you need to look like you clean your fur more."she mumbled.

After a good rest White left for another patrol feeling a bit lighter after the rest with White Stripe and not needing to listen Slow Web or others that much. He walked along side the border and was able to hear how few extra steps came behind him, of course it wasn't a huge surprise that ones again Slow Web and Spotted Hope were after him but this time they had taken even the youngest adolescent with them, Snow White the second white lion who was part of Lost Stars Pride.

Raven woke up from and decided to take Flint on patrol with him to visit White and tell him the news.
He walked to the border to see White with Slowweb and Spottedhope. Flint perked up at the site of the young females.
“Hey, White! I have news for you from Flamemane.” Raven called as he padded over to them.
Flint followed him shyly, slightly blushing as he got closer to the young female adolescents.

White lifted his gaze at the males "Hello, Raven. What is it?"He asked and started to slow down when he got closer to them.
Young females looked at them with great interest, Slow Web being excited and Spotted Hope with a bit shy look on her face. Snow White hid behind the older girls staring eyes wide open "no need to be scared.."Slow Web meowed and continued to get closer to others.

Raven padded over to them, “Flamemane said he would like to meet with Sandmane later this afternoon, if that’s ok.”

Flint took a deep breath and approached the young lionesses, “Hey, I’m Flint, I’m an adolescent from the Moonstone Pride. Nice to meet you.” He blushed slightly.

Outside of the pride territories was Ebony, a young no mane who was once a member of the Moonstone Pride and one of the apprentices of Eclipse. Ebony was a pretty looking male, he had a light rusty brown coat with black dapples, a dark black mane, and bright bluish green eyes.
He was in search of a pride of his own, he was particularly looking for a smaller pride with a cruel mane who wasn’t treating his lionesses right. He wanted to kill the cruel mane to save the lionesses from his reign and give them a better life. And after many months of searching, he may have found the perfect pride.

Raven looked at him, “We’re fine, but Flamemane’s daughters are devastated that their father will be gone soon, including Eclipse, Flamemane is is father too.

Flint smiled at the young lionesses, then noticing how nervous Spottedhope was, he padded closer to her, “Hey, it’s ok, no need to be nervous. We’re not gonna hurt you.” He purred. Man, he was a sucker for golden lionesses.
