A hum of excited bird calls echoed from the trees surrounding Chernobyl. The sun had begun to peek out over the horizon, casting a warm glow over the earth and sky. The air still had a frigid chill from the night before, but was quickly heating up as time ticked on. Movement was already seen in Insurgent's camp, a bustle of dogs setting off to do their daily routines before the mid-day heat had a chance to scorch their coats. Abolition was still calm, eerily quiet, and shrouded in a cloud of fog from the mist rising out of the cooling ponds. It seemed as though they were having a late start, or perhaps conserving their energy for the day ahead. Either way, it was clear that the day had started without them.

Hunting opportunities for the day were small, but present. A bachelor group of wild boar were busy making a mess out of the soil on the outskirts of Abolition's territory, while large colonies of rats scurried about in the shadows of Insurgent's base camp. In the trees surrounding the two packs, the soft howl of a lone wolf could be heard. Possibly searching for their companions, or annoyed that their prey had wandered out of their domain. It was setting up to be a busy morning for the canines.
