Jen's Guide to Combo Bases

A combo base is a breed only base that can only be aquired by pairing 2 specific parent bases together. There is no guarantee of breeding a combo base cub in these pairings, and the chance to get the combo you're trying for can be very low.

This guide features all achievable combo bases according to the official wiki page.

To check what any base pairing can make, including non-combo bases, check out the Base Outcome Viewer in the wiki!

For quick navigation, go to page 1 of this thread and hit ctrl and F to search for a base or phrase! On mobile, use "find in page" in your browser settings.

Universal combo rules

A combo can only occur when each parent has the required base to produce the combo. This means that, even if 1 parent has the potential to produce a combo cub, the other side of the combination is required for the base to appear.

For a lion with a combo base to have potential to produce a cub with the same base, a partner with either the same base or a factor of the combo base is required. This means breeding a non-factor to a lion with a combo base has zero chance to pass the combo base.

The only way to pass the base of a combo lioness without using a complimentary factor is to use a crunchy worm. This item has a 25% chance to fully clone a lioness, including any base, markings, mane shape/colour and eye type, and therefore does not consider the father's genetics in a crunchy wormed cub. This item also bypasses any additional conditions of the base, such as wet/dry season.

Because cubs are generated at the point of conception, all the requirements to produce a given commo (correct bases & time of day/season if required) must be present during the breeding itself. Nothing can change the look of an unborn cub after conception- retroactively changing the base of either parent or the time at which a cub is born have an effect on whether a combo can or has been generated.

EXAMPLE COMBO

FACTOR A

FACTOR B

FACTOR C

In this example table, "EXAMPLE COMBO" can be produced by pairing factor ("A" and "C") or ("B" and "C")
Pairing factors ("A" and "B") would not produce the the combo base!
Pairing "EXAMPLE COMBO" with any bases on the table (factors "A", "B", "C" or"EXAMPLE COMBO") has a chance of producing the combo base!

Nope. Only the bases listed in this guide have any potential to produce a combo base. You can check if a base has combo potential by using "CRTL + F" on a keyboard or using the "find on page" function on your mobile's browser. Make sure you're on page 1 of this guide so it works :)

Yes, it is a factor for at least 5 combo bases. Follow the link "official wiki page" on page 1 of this thread for more details on the combo bases it can produce ^^

Does anyone know what bases ammonite makes (Cream Medium Countershaded Special). Also when to breed to make those bases?

Ammonite isn't part of any combos so the only things it can breed are the rares, un-commons and commons from its genetics group. Follow the link on post 1 to the base outcome viewer to see what it can do.

Boe, what base you get is just going to depend on the color genetics of the parents. Since hibiscus is a special base, the cubs have a chance at having rare bases. If you breed with another red grouped base, the cubs will be common, uncommon, or rare red grouped bases, or hibiscus (or the other parents special base). If you breed with a black grouped base, the cubs can have red or black grouped bases.

Sorry that's kinda wordy, but I hope I got my point across 😊
