It's really become annoying to see 10+ "what can I get for 1 SB" trades in TC - they clutter up the Currency section of TC and TC in general.

I also feel they are a method of begging, as the trades are offering basically nothing in exchange for items.

I feel these should be reportable or even prevented if coding allows.

At this time, I would like to point out that for the next two weeks you all have an opportunity to say something that can make a difference regarding these trades in this topic made by the admins:

@Kova

It was stated that certain items that sell for 1 or less in the Monkey Business were what they are worth, when you cannot buy said items for 1 from the Monkey Business.

I was only pointing out that they are worth more than 1 due to what they are listed at currently on the player-controlled market. If they were listed at 1, then that's what they would be worth when basing them off of existing player-controlled instances alone.

Edit: Fixed typo.

I agree, though, a filter or something else would be a better way to go about it. Even a soft-block feature for those who only want to block trades, etc..

I think the best possible out come for these types of trades is to have a new area of the TC made. Where Challenge Trades and Fun Trades are placed and can be watched easier by Mods.

That would definitely be the better solution.

I can agree with that. If not forums, then give it its own place like raffles so people who think it's annoying can bypass it altogether.

I was in TC looking for lions with specific traits and came across one of these god damn trades again. Filtering does nothing, these trades are literally everywhere. I hope something is done about them, soon.

I have to agree with this! I've blocked over 30 people in the past three days in order to have a normal looking TC. It's frustrating! Keep these in the forum games please!

I still think having them moved to the forum is a bad idea, since they are still trades. I feel that these should have their own place like Raffles.

Think about that instead of just demanding them to be moved to forums, where they will just take over and became an issue in the forums, that people will want moved from there as well. What happens then? Where will these move to?

Remember trades and values are mostly up to the community. Try and think of it this way: Would you rather see these types of trades moved to the forums and possibly take up lost and i mean lots of room? Or would you rather see a specific place in the TC for them to be?

Personally, if they don't get outright banned, I'd like them to have their own TC section because I really don't want to see them. Not in chatter, not in normal TC , and if they have their own little section, I can outright ignore them, and the enjoyers can do their thing. Still, kind of hoping for A: Ban or B: That the hype will die out.

After reading all these arguments I still don‘t understand why they should be banned? Or even moved to forums? And because people just find them annoying and they supposedly clutter up a already cluttered TC. It‘s really just a you problem if you find them soo annoying that you have to block people for it, it really, really does not mean it should be removed.

I think that both sides of this argument have a reasonable point, and both should be heard. while I am aware they are awful and annoying and clogging up the TC, they are not considered begging and it's not hard to just ignore, block, move on. I don't think It's a major issue because just like all trends, it's gonna die out. It's literally nothing worth stressing about.

In response to Shadow's complaint:

"I also think that the way the thread was made and nothing has been put into the main post about anything, is another reason I am having a problem with this trade.

Most suggestions take both the positive and the negitive and put points on pros and cons, this suggestion, players have to read what others have stated (currently 8 pages) and then they can voice their thoughts on the matter. But most players only read the main post then make their reply. "

I have not been responding to this thread as I haven't been online much after Feb, and this thread is a handful. Much of this thread is aggressive and has similar arguments repeated throughout the 9 pages, making it unpleasant to read through thoroughly enough to pick out legitimate arguments from both sides in order to add stuff to the main post.

My original missive was to address something that annoyed me and other people I had talked to. It is up to the mods to decide what they want to do with this, whether creating a new section of TC, making a rule against it so these trades can be reported, simply nothing, or something else. I think they would read through all the pages anyway (regardless of what I put in the main post, as it could be biased) before they decide.

My only comment on the discussion at the moment is: please remain civil.

Uhm. Do you know how forum cathegories work? They can just add another one to Stockpile (Under Reverse breeding) called "paperclip challanges". Or just state that these challenges belong to Forum Games section (in Free for all). Done. Problem solved.

TC can be easily cluttered. Especially if you just want to look through trades. In forums it's different. There's no way paperclip challanges would clutter things on forum for people looking for serious things because it would be in different section of the forum. People who want to buy a Lion would go to "Lions" section in Stockpile and look through threads there. Not to forum games.

I, unfortunately, am now switching to support. Originally, I had the opinion that they were harmless and was just a few folks were just having fun, and it isn't really something that was deserving of moderation. However, recently for me two things have changed my opinion. One, there has been a huge influx of these type of not real or game trades to the point that it is directly affecting the trading center's ease of use and player's overall enjoyment. Two, I am now of the opinion these users are not trying to get muties, they're just trying to get higher value items while appealing to other players with a goal. Why do I think this? Well, because I've been purging my den and offering muties on these low value trades seeking a mutie, and they're not accepted.

I think a good compromise could be the banning of "challenges" under the Code of Conduct Myriad outlined, but leave "what can I get" trades. The trading center is for trades, and these often are more in line with veiled begging, or forum games, and don't communicate a true trade. Trades like "1sb to LEOPON lvl 5" that have a bunch of random decor don't really communicate a trade, it's more like a game. Actual trades don't have levels or steps towards an end goal, the same trade should be labeled "Decor for best offer" or even "Decor for Leopon". I think bad or disproportionately valued trades should not be moderated, as what is considered a bad trade is too subjective to accurately establish a code on. Perhaps there should be a boost to the SB amount posted independently to the trade center, so when players post "what can I get for 10sb" there are items in line with that value.

I know with this compromise it may be that both sides are dissatisfied, as it still permits low value trades seeking hybrids, but doesn't permit the plague of "1sb to Leopon lvl 8" that has a bunch of random decor. In litigation, it's stated that the best compromises are always ones where both sides are not satisfied, and I think this compromise would accomplish that for both sides of this argument.

In closing, my opinion is one of support towards removing "game" trades, but leaving bad value "what can I get?" trades, though perhaps the minimum SB should be raised for starting a trade.

PS: I didn't proofread this spontaneous freaking essay, I'll try to later. I apologize for any grammatical issues or spelling mistakes.
