The Wastes Den

Phoenix tilted her head at the name, snickering unabashedly. "Let's hope you and your grandma don't share the same fate." She giggled, not seeing any harm with the joke. She then looked at the two in question, a primal lioness adol who snuck in here to care for some of the cubs and try and help Phoenix, and a small common looking youngling. She looked back at Geio and Moogly.

"If they wish to go they may." She responded. It took no convincing.

The pair would look to the two before Geio would pad over to the cub to sniff her head before giving a gentle lock to clean her face and picking her up carefully. Moogly would pad over to the adol with a kind smile. "Come on! Let's go home okay?"

Pandora and a primal female hustled in they jaws holding food and feathers. They dropped it in the corner where it was concealed by shadows. "Hello Phoenix, I hope it helps!" He tossed a large meat chunk to Phoenix and left, most likely so they didn't get caught,.

[While Coy Fish was out, Sunset snuck through the territory, eventually finding the pitiful den, however something was off. A new smell? As she padded around the corner she stumbled into Phoenix.] “Oh, sorry! I was looking to rescue a cub or two from here, have you seen my friend Moogly?” [she’d ask, unaware of what had happened in the time being.]

Phoenix startled a bit, having just finished dining on a small dikdik. "Uhm, Moogly is dead." She responded, not softening her words. Her voice was gravel and asthma all rolled up into a chain smoker. "I may be able to help you, though."

“Oh…I’m sorry to hear that. I’m Sunset, and you are..?” [she’d inquire, looking at the lionesses’ burned pelt.] “Anyways, if you have time, could I possibly adopt a cub? It doesn’t particularly matter which one.” [she’d add, a bit startled by the news of her friend.]

Phoenix grinned, coughing a bit, "I'm Phoenix- 'reborn from the ashes of flames that couldn't kill me'." She rolls her eyes, the way she says it makes it obvious her opinion on such a lofty meaning for her name. Phoenix takes a seat, scratching carefully at her ear.

"Take your pick of cub- I will tell you though, they are killed when they turn a year and a month old." She yawns, trying to act nonchalant. Her anger is obvious though in the way her muscles tense and her claws extend, "If that affects your decision at all."

Sameal, who was born during the dry season and matured within flames, dose not startle at the lioness. “I have come to adopt a youngling” swinging his head in a gesture that removed dark mane from his stormy eyes and displayed the full length of the start haze around his neck “ they will be well cared for I swear it”, imagining his one day lovely pride of star dappled and celestial lions “ I would escort C|Blue|Crested|Hallow|LF to my territory if you please”

“Ah. In that case, I can take that cub. They will have a wonderful life living in Daybreak Pride.” [she’d meow, flicking her tail towards the cub.] “Thank you for all your help, and I hope we can get to know eachother better.”

GoldBlood walked slowly, StormedVisions beside him.
"Are you sure you want to come? Your head is bothering you, i can pick out some cubs, i promise."
"You won't pick the Right cubs! I know which ones i want."
He nodded, he knew what happens to cubs that were to old.

A green striped lion was just behind them, he looked observant. He would have to come here as well. He just didn't know when. He held aloe in his mouth, he didn't know why, but he was asked to, and he listened.

GoldBlood and StormedVisions got to the den they knew so well.
They entered quietly and GoldBlood bowed down.

"Pheonix? Good evening again." The purple lioness purred.
"We brought your aloe again, with a few poppy's, for pain." She started to sniff around, looking for a cub that was weak, but could be strong.

GoldBlood walked over to her and sat down
"She couldn't come last time, her head was hurting too much. I tried to insist she stay home this time, but she was stubborn to come. This over here is RoosterMoss, or just Rooster. A good friend of mine, and a rouge that i let live on our lands."
The lion put the herbs down at the broodmother's paws before looking around the cave himself, taking the environment in fully.
"So how are you, Pheonix? I hope your healing is going well."


StormedVisions tapped him with her paws, she had found the two she wanted.
He nodded, asking them if they wanted to go and then turned to Pheonix
"It's only tradition that i ask you at this point. May we bring them with us?"

Phoenix offers a bright smile to Sameal. though it does not truly meet her eyes, "One and the same." She murmurs in her ash-soaked voice. She gets to her paws, trotting over to look at the cub he speaks of. She grins, chuffing best she can.

"They will make a fine addition to any pride." Phoenix nods to the budding lioness. The lioness blushes, still getting used to praise, and raises her head. She could feel death knocking its claws against her bones, knowing Coy Fish was only moments away from killing her and so many other adols in the den with her. She was eager to leave.



Phoenix looked to where the tail flicked, a small cub running right into the pointing tail as the adol was adopted. Not realizing that it was just a coincidence, Phoenix snags the little cub with a gentle paw and brings them close to groom some fly away hairs on their head.

"They need a pride to teach them some manners." She jokes, chuckling as the cub groans.



Phoenix perked up when she saw GoldBlood, she enjoyed this lion's visits and he always brought such nice friends. It had been a few months since Coy Fish had come into the Wastes Den, so there were many older adols and they all seemed more at ease. The king had other things to tend to, and Phoenix knew he would return, but why ruin what peace they had with worries for a future that could be eons away?

"Gold!" SHe chirruped, trotting over to him so the two could sit and watch StormedVisions and RoosterMoss look around. She graciously accepted the aloe and poppy, headbutting Rooster and being careful of the dying crown atop her head. Coy insisted she wear it, a reminder of where she had come from.

"Healing is slow, but look!" She extended one of her paws, revealing bright pink skin. The burnt tissue was crumbling and sloughing off, revealing healing skin beneath it. She wrapped it in spider silk and smothered it in aloe and poppy- unsure how to properly use any of the herbs gifted to her. Her tail flicked happily side to side as she displayed it. She then turned to Rooster, tilting her head and eyes finally showing some emotion- curiosity.

"What is it like being a rogue?" As soon as the question was asked, StormeVisions came up with two adols. Phoenix returned her attention to the purple hued lioness with a chuff, looking over the two. She pretended to contemplate the rhetorical question.

"Oh I don't know," She started with a smirk, "Are you sure you want those two?" The two adols huffed, rolling their eyes good-naturedly. The lioness swatted the air in front of Phoenix's face with a giggle. Phoenix mock-gasped, pointing to this 'aggression'.

"See! Absolute brutes!" She laughed, getting up to nuzzle both goodbye as her snickers died down.

A long mane lionness, longfur, walked in to and looks around before playing with the cubs. Eventually one caught her eye and she spent time with them.

"How would you like to come to my pride, our king will adore you, especially with those eyes" she smiles

The cub took a while to come out of her shell, but when she saw how kind the lioness was she couldn't resist pouncing on her tail. Phoenix watched with a soft smile, glad that they could all still play and have fun. When Longfur spoke to the cub, the little one stumbled back and blushed at the compliment. She chirruped and nuzzled up to the older lioness, excited to go to a new home.

The two cubs
A group of lions and lionesses are attracting stares as they walk in, after all it isn't often you see a group of 4 lionesses and one lion flounce into another pride. "Hello," the lionesses in lead said cheerily "I'm Glinda! We heard about this pride when exploring, and we thought we'd check it out and-"
"And we've come to rescue you guys." Interrupted the reddish lioness, "I'm Rose by the way, basically our plan is to spread the word about this pride as well as expand our territory to take as many cubs as we can, Also your cute." She finished her long winded speech in one breath, you got the impression she was used to talking a lot.
"I'm Fiero by the way." The male finally spoke up.
"And I'm Angelica, me and Elphaba are here to help the cubs." Elphaba nodded her agreement. "She's fantastic at soothing cubs" Angelica added, nuzzling Elphaba.
Wordlessly Elphaba gestured to the cubs and dropped 4 food bundles on the ground.
"Hide those" Angelic told her "May we go meet the cubs? I'm a healer."
Elphaba inclined her head to two cubs huddled in a corner. "Sick" she said as she dropped two toy bundles on the ground, tucking them under a tuft of blood matted grass.
"We'll take those two back with us, they need longer treatment." Glinda chimed in.
Fiero nodded meekly, looking as if he was about to puke from all the blood.
