Nightpaw

The apprentice woke up a bit before sunrise. She was usually awake early. She stretched her legs and left the apprentice den. She breathed in the cool morning air and made herself comfortable in a spot at the edge of the camp. Nightpaw enjoyed these moments, then almost no one but her was awake. It was always so quiet and piece full. She enjoyed to be by herself sometimes, since she wasn’t really a social cat. Sure other cats were up, getting ready for the day, but she liked observing them. She enjoyed watching the camp fill slowly with life, the morning patrol head out and more and more cats wake up. She also liked to watch a beautiful sunrise.

Nightpaw

The first sun rays woke up Rushpaw and made him yawn loudly. His ears twitched as he shook his head a bit to regain full sight and function of his senses. He looked around the apprentice den and noticed an empty spot, one of his clanmates must have left already. He got up and quickly stretched his legs before carefully tip toeing out of the den and onto the camp clearing. His eyes shut instinctively at the bright light and only carefully he opened them again. Finally when he could see he spotted the cat that had gone missing from inside the apprentice den; nightpaw. The she cat sat all alone and Rushpaw quickly decided to bother her peace. He headed straight towards her, in an instance standing a whisker away from her.

"Nightpaw! Good morning! Isn't it beautiful?"

RiverClan Camp - Medicine Den

Fir'cloud opened her eyes wearily, her white-splotched tail that was curled over her nose slowly falling to her side as she raised her head. Her blue eyes flicked around her den, looking for anything out of place. Seeing nothing but flickering sunlight entering the medicine den, she rose to her paws, stretching out her long limbs. She sat down, giving herself a quick yet thorough cleaning. 'No use in looking less than pretty.' she thought with a smirk, glancing down at her shimmering pelt before stepping out into the clearing. Right away, she noticed the two apprentices, yet she flicked an ear and walked the other way.

Rushpaw

Nightpaw turned her attention back to the clearing, now that the sunrise was almost other. She noticed Rushpaw exiting the apprentice den. Since she was the first to wake up and she didn’t notice an other apprentice exiting the den, she assumed he was the only apprentice awake besides her. Then she saw Fircloud, the medicine cat stepping out of her den. She didn’t really pay attention to Rushpaw anymore, so she didn’t notice how he came over to her and was a bit surprised then he suddenly stood so close to her. She stepped a bit aside, because she didn’t really like being so close to other cats if she can help it. ”Good morning. Yes, it is beautiful.”

Rushpaw obviously didn't get the hidden meaning in Nightpaw taking a step back and just came a step closer again. Personally he had nothing against standing so close to another cat so he didn't see why she had moved. A smile grew on his face when the she said it was a beautiful morning aswell. Quickly his energy became too much and not being able to keep his paws still he lifted one by one standing on three paws and quickly changing which one was raised a couple times.

"I can't await getting out of camp today! I'm sure the water will be warm when we go hunting! Oh I hope I get to go hunting!"

Rush'Paw & Night'Paw Mentions Fir'Cloud

Whisper'Willow yawned and rolled to his feet, stretching slowly, and pulling out a few stray twigs that decided to stick in his pelt. He made his way leisurely out to the camp where he took note of the other cats awake. Fir'Cloud was off doing what Fir'Cloud does, and two apprentices, Night'Paw and Rush'Paw were on the other side of camp. Whisper'Willow could see from here that poor Night'Paw's personal bubble was being invaded by Rush'Paw. He let out a soft sigh with a small smile as he grabbed some prey from the pile and walked over to the two. He counted Rush'Paw as his responsibility, and just like a mother would tell her kit to not bother the warriors, he'd have to tell the young tom that most cats wanted their own space.

" 'Morning Rush'Paw, Night'Paw." He nodded as he addressed them, dropping his prey and fully aware he probably intruded on their conversation. "Rush'Paw, I'm thinking we'll head out to hunt soon, so don't get too close to Night'Paw there. Make sure you grab some food before we head out, because we won't be eating anything we catch once we leave." He picked up his prey again, and turned to leave, shuddering a little on the inside from the confidence he had just displayed. He took a few quick breaths, trying to force himself to get used to this 'leadership' role. If he was going to actually succeed in teaching this energetic tom, he'd have to get used to speaking with the authority of a warrior.

Nightpaw, whisper'willow

The young tom hadn't really noticed his mentor coming over to speak to them until he had already spoken out about Rushpaw being way too close to Nightpaw. Confused at what Whisper'Willow meant he took a step back, carefully studying Nightpaw's face to see if he really had bothered her. When his mentor spoke on about going out to hunt all the care was suddenly forgotten, his paws only aching more to run freely. His eyes and whole muzzle portrayed the great excitement and joy that filled him.

"We're going to hunt?! Did you hear nightpaw? I'm going on a hunt! This is the best day ever!"

The yellowish tom was basically jumping around his friend now, not being able to contain the excitement as he bubbled with happiness. When he got to the point that he stood behind Nightpaw he leaped onto her back to bring them both down onto the sandy ground into a tussle. Laughing he batted his paws against her, of course with drawn in claws.

Night'Paw & Rush'Paw

Whisper'Willow glanced back as he heard the excitement and the tussle, and he just shook his head as he continued walking away. He'd done enough already, hopefully Night'Paw would speak up. He found a quiet spot to relax, and he started munching on his prey, keeping a close eye on the two apprentices. He glanced over to Fir'Cloud, but soon his mind drifted off as he wondered how he should go about the hunting lesson. Maybe he'd bring Night'Paw along as well, she might enjoy it...

Rushpaw, Whisperwillow

“I’d like to go hunting too.”, she said to Rushpaw as he told her he hoped to go hunting today. She started to get a bit annoyed by him. She was a calm cat, who liked to observe quietly and preferred a calm environment. Then she noticed Whisperwillow, Rushpaw’s mentor, was coming to them, she nodded in his direction and greeted him then he was there. Good Morning, Whisperwillow.” She let Whisperwillow talk to his apprentice then. ”Yes, I heard that.”, she said to Rushpaw and sounded a bit dry. She wasn’t a fan of stating the obvious and of course did she hear, she sat right next to them.

She wasn’t prepared for Rushpaw jumping on her back, so she couldn’t doge him and landed on her belly. Now she was really annoyed with him. ”Get off from me.” She didn’t raise her voice, but her annoyance could be heard. She rolled on her back to try shaking him off.

Nightpaw, whisperwillow

Rushpaw hadn't noticed the dry voice or change in Nightpaw's demeanor. When she suddenly sounded all angry he let her go confused as he stood back up. His tail was now lowered to the ground and his ears pinning to the side of his head in slight shame. He mumbled a sorry and trotted off to his mentor, approaching quietly.

"Should we go hunt now? I don't think Nightpaw is happy with me?.."

His voice sounded sad, devastated almost that she hadn't shared his excitement. His green eyes large while he waited for his mentor to answer

Night’Paw & Rush’Paw

Whisper’Willow looked toward Rush’Paw. He stood up, taking a deep breath in preparation.

“I don’t think Night’Paw is happy with you either. Maybe next time instead of jumping on top of your clan mate, you try to hold in your excitement? Remember, not all cats like being close to others. But, I think we should invite Night’Paw along to hunt with us. You can apologize and take some time to try and understand her so you don’t hurt her again.” He offered quietly, doing his best to keep his voice level. After he finished he let out another breath. He smiled, feeling very proud of himself. Look at him! Giving out advice for his little apprentice! What a good mentor he was!

Fir'cloud watched silently from across the camp, eyes narrowed disdainfully. She knew at some point she'd need an apprentice, but she wasn't too keen on the choice she had currently. 'Unruly little furballs.' she thought with a low growl.

Willowwhisper, nightpaw

Rushpaw looked at the ground pawing at it to distract from the words willowwhisper sent his way. A frown sat on his muzzle with little happiness left. He was ashamed to become such a lecture from his own mentor, almost as if he was still a naughty kit. He wasn't happy with inviting Nightpaw either, now that he had gone on her nerves and both of them weren't in good moods. With his face still facing the ground, he apologised to WhisperWillow.

"I'm sorry Whisperwillow, it's difficult to contain excitement. I don't know why the other cats are so good at it? Anyways, I'll try not to jump on any more clanmates but i thought it was fun?"

Rush’Paw & Night’Paw

Whisper’Willow’s pride in being such a good mentor suddenly collapsed. What was he thinking? He couldn’t- No. it was going to be all right. He shifted on his paws, thinking. How could he help his apprentice? How could he fix it? He didn’t want to make the young one ashamed.

“Sometimes it’s okay, but you have to be able to know who it’s okay with. Like… Night’Paw it’s not. Just… try to… try to… just be careful.” He looked down at the young one. “It’s alright, and the most important thing, is… if you do something to hurt another’s feelings, you should apologize. I know it’s hard… but the other will think you better for it. It proves you to be like an adult if you can give up your pride. Does- does that make sense..?” His tail swished back and forth, as he watched Rush’Paw, hoping his words can help him.

Whisper'Willow, Nightpaw

Rushpaw desperately tried to focus on listening to his mentor but easily got distracted as his thought wandered off. In the end he only heard as much as 'apologise, nightpaw... make sense?'. To not hurt his mentor's feeling he simply nodded along even when he was only hearing the paws of his clanmates tap on the ground.

"Makes sense. I'll... apologise to Nightpaw then I guess. Can we go hunt then? The sun is rising rapidly and it'll be too hot to fish soon!"

Expectingly he stared up at Whisper'Willow again. He really didn't want to apologise to Nightpaw, he was ashamed enough to have hurt her and returning to that topic wouldn't be easy.
