Rush’Paw & Night’Paw

Whisper’Willow smiled down at Rush’Paw. He seemed to be getting it! And he seemed to be not as down as before! Must be a mission accomplished.

“Yes, yes. I’m sorry I got caught up in my words. Let’s go. Do you want to invite Night’Paw now?” He figured he might as well let Rush’Paw choose that. He shouldn’t push too hard, he knew from experience that if a mentor pushes their apprentice too much, it may ruin the poor kit’s spirit.

He took a few steps toward Night’Paw, hoping Rush’Paw will take his words to heart. He also knew how hard apologizing can be as a young cat, and even as a full grown warrior. Some things seem even harder than hunting or fighting. As a mentor, it was partly his duty to make sure his apprentice was ready for all forms of life.

Nightpaw, Whisper'willow

Completely back to his senses now that they were finally going to go hunting his paws started to ache to run again. Just to get out of camp as fast as possible he nodded and ran back over to Nightpaw, stopping a little bit before her now. Carefully, with a not too loud voice he tried his best to sound sorry.

"Hey Nightpaw... I'm reaaaaally sorry for being so excited earlier. Would you forgive me if we took you for a hunt?..."

Hopefully she would accept, if not he wondered what would happen when he slept this night, maybe she'd scratch him up badly. He wasn't too sure about nightpaw as she always seemed so quiet. Rushpaw didn't want to admit it but he was slightly afraid of her.

Rush’Paw & Night’Paw

Whisper’Willow waited until Rush’Paw had passed him to follow the young cat over to Night’Paw. He waited behind the two, giving them space to chat and prepare. Now he could finally focus on what his plan was for today. Of course they would head out fishing, but where specifically? There were plenty of places to fish, depending on the type of fish you were hoping for and the difficulty of the terrain. He figured they might as well start out easy. A shallow area with lots of shade covering over the water. If these two do well, he might need to find something more challenging, but he was content to see how Rush’Paw would take this first challenge. He could only hope Night’Paw would accept his apology.

Rushpaw, Whisperwillow

She stood back while Whisperwillow talked to Rushpaw. His name really fits him. she thought as Rushpaw said it was difficult for him to hold back his excitement. Had she been rude? She didn’t meant to, but she was honest and straightforward. Sometimes she said things that others deem as rude. She understood that she and Rushpaw had a different view on fun. She didn’t mind a tussle during training, but otherwise she prefers calmer things. That is why she prefers hunting over fighting.

”It’s alright. I didn’t meant to be rude and I would like to come on a hunt with you.”, she replied to Rushpaws apology. ”Do you know where we go?”, she asked him.

Nightpaw, Whisper'willow

The tom instantly lightened up again a bright smile on his muzzle. However he tried his best to contain the rapid heart that was drumming inside his chest; she forgave him! And she'd come to the hunt too! Tapping his paws on the ground instead of jumping around he excitedly, first with a little crack in his voice, answered.

"N0,... no, I mean. I don't actually.. but where ever its going to be so fun with you! Come let tell Whisperwillo so he can tell us where we're going!"

He was just about to run back to his mentor when he stopped himself to watch if the she joined him.

Rush'Paw & Night'Paw

Whisper'Willow smiled as he watched the two apprentices. Night'Paw had forgiven Rush'Paw, and she didn't seem too mad. Rush'Paw seemed back to his high energy state, but now it looked like he was doing his best to not explode all over Night'Paw. They both seemed very excited to get going, so he made the steps to move closer so they wouldn't have to make their way to him.

"We're going to go to the river for some fishing. There's a nice spot around a bend where it's not too deep and covered with shade. We'll start there, and we'll see how the day goes from there. Does that sound alright with you both?" He looked between the two apprentices, hoping that they won't mind starting out easy.

When his mentor got closer again and told them the news of where they would go it took everything in Rushpaw to keep his paws on the ground. They would go fishing! And there would be shade! In this heat that was the most perfect combination. Quickly to assure WhisperWillow he nodded and faced Nightpaw again.

"Are you excited?! Oh I can't wait to catch soooo many fish! I'm sure I'll catch more than three!! How many will you catch what do you think?"
