Picking the target - what raffle lioness do you want to recreate?

All my tips and advice, and what you should keep in mind when trying to pick a target.

Dividing the project into…

When I did this project, I divided it into three phases. This was necessary since I wanted to breed the final raffle lioness clone with a clean, short heritage. Project lions tend to become ridiculously inbred, and that’s okay! That’s just the way it has to be. This is how I was able to work around that, though.

If you do not care about heritage, you can completely forget about the whole “dividing the project into phases” thing. That’s your choice to make. However, you should be aware that means a lot of people might not be interested in your RLC in the end. To a lot of people, the appeal of an RLC comes from that many BO traits being on such a low gen lion, and some simply refuse to buy or breed dirty lions. Still though, this adds a lot of extra work onto the project, so if you’d rather just ignore heritage and not add months of extra pain work, that’s your call.

-> Phase 1

-> Phase 2

-> Phase 3

Conclusion

Probably a silly question, but i dont understand why phase 2 is necessary 😭 im doing a breeding project and im just trying to put all the marks onto one lion, this guide has been useful but im very confused about that part 😥

My reasoning is that getting a clean clone from just a near clone king and a naked NCL is extremly low. By breeding G2 near clones first and using them instead of NCLs, your odds improve significantly, since both mom and dad have traits to pass onto the cubs, not just dad

You could choose to ignore that and just breed to NCLs to try and get a g2 clone, and that is defo possible with not as BO heavy projects, but I wouldnt recommend it.I try to explain this under the phase 1 part of the guide. Hope that clarified okay, but feel free to ask as many questions as u need!

What's the best way to go about getting a rare marking/slot.. need 2 more markings until i have them all for my own rl project, but s1 has 41 lions and s3 has 90, none are for trade either I would message asking if theyre selling but very few ppl have multiple cubs with the marking/have it on their king and I doubt ppl would give up their one cub with such a rare slot

I had a similar issue with my project- you can look for studs with your missing marks, or ask people with said lions. But you should be aware that asking to buy lions not listed for sale is against the site rules.
I did chat with a few people myself though I must admit, specifically targeting lions that seemed unwanted with names like «cub», «sell», «what to do with you», etc. Most were super nice and willing to just give me the lion for free despite me offering payment.
If all of them seem wanted, u can always try asking for a heat, maybe even providing barks to not inconvenience them, but that is of course gonna get quite expensive..

If you were to recreate a rlc with a special base would you have to get a G1 king and breed a lottt of G2 lionesses with the base and then breed to them with your king with all the bo marks? In the end making the rlc g3 or g4? Or is there an easier way I’m not thinking about? Like incorporating the base into earlier breeding like when trying to get all the marks?
