For the rest of the evening, nothing particularly interesting had happened to the male and eventually when his owner's bedtime had came, he had followed him towards the bedroom only to find that the door was shut right in front of his nose and he was left to whine on the other side. He had been whining for a while, but when that hadn't brought the desired outcome, Juno had returned back to downstairs and curled up into his bed. Listening to the eerie sounds of the quiet house, he managed to fall asleep.

However, as the morning dawned, Juno found out that his punishment was far from over. He wasn't allowed to outside, at all. His owner would take him to a brief walk, so he could relieve himself, but that was it. Other than that he was to stay inside feeling his owner's watchful glare over him. Juno huffed almost bored out of his mind as he laid in his dog bed thinking about Dahlia and how she was fairing.

Dahlia remained asleep until the sun arose the next morning. She yawned softly, heaving herself up once she crawled out from underneath the house. She shook out her now dirty fur, trotting off to begin her day. First, she needed to find breakfast. Fortunately, today was a crowded vendor day. It would be a bit easier to snag something. She sniffed around, finding a stand that had some kind of meat on a stick thing. She wasn’t sure exactly what it was, but it smelled good. She snuck by, managing to snag two off of them before the vendor noticed. He picked up a bat, missing her side as he swung, but managing to make contact with her front leg. She yelped and ran off, limping as she did so.

This slowed her down. That wasn’t good. Not at all. No meal was worth a potentially broken leg. She let out a pained grunt, deciding to head to one place she may be able to get help, even if just from another dog. She wasn’t going to be able to jump over the fence this time around. She dug a bit, then managed to crawl underneath the fence. She rose up onto her hind legs, peering in through the window, then released a soft bark.

Juno was trying to sleep when he heard a faint bark. His ears perked up almost instantly as the Borzoi rose up to his full height. From the window he could see Dahlia on the other side and his tail began to wag a little. He quickly trotted to his owner trying to get his attention and then trotted back to the door whining. His owner looked at the dog puzzled, it wasn't like him to try to get his attention or to want to go outside at this hour. "I won't be taking you on the walk, but I'll let you on the yard, though... on a leash," the man said as he put harness around Juno's torso before leading him outside. He fastened the chain on the railing of the stairs that would take one to the house leaving the dog alone.

Once Juno was alone, he focused on his attention to the familiar scent of Dahlia. "Good morning, miss Dahlia. It's lovely to see you again," he said politely looking at her with his gentle yet keen eyes.

Dahlia’s tail lightly wagged when she saw the male. She was only able to put one front paw on the windowsill, leaving a dirty paw print. Once she saw him going to the door she got down, sitting there for a moment to think. After the door opened she hid, lowering herself close to the ground to avoid being spotted by the human. As soon as the door shut she stood up straight again, keeping her weight off her injured leg.

She limped over to the Borzoi, curiously sniffing around the stairs and staircase. Then she sniffed his leash. "Good morning, Sir Juno. What’s with this thing? Are you stuck?”

"It's called "leash", though usually my owner uses a leather one when we are going for walks. However, he found out that I had left the premises yesterday and wasn't really impressed with that stunt, so now I have to face my punishment," he said nudging his chain. "However, what's wrong with your paw?" he asked worriedly as he noticed the was keeping her weight off of it and had even seen her limping. His dark eyes reflected pure worry. "How did you get injured?" he asked.

"Oh. That’s odd. I’ve seen dogs walking on them on the streets, but never this." Dahlia nodded towards the chain. "Ah.. right. I stole from a vendor. He caught me and hit me with this thick stick thing." She tried to play it off as not a big deal, simply something that happens. But pain swam in her eyes. Obviously, it didn’t feel very good to get hit with a bat. "I’m sure it’ll heal.. eventually."

"I'm sure it will," Juno said his tone calm and comforting. He felt the urge to lay down and have her to lay right next to him so she could hide the injured paw into his fur while he would groom it, but didn't think that she would appreciate that. "Is it hurting a lot?" he asked seeing pain in her eyes. He wanted to relieve it someway, but didn't really know what he could do, especially now that he wasn't allowed to move in and out of the house as he pleased.

Dahlia sat down a couple feet away, carefully and gently grooming her wounded leg. "Yes.. quite a bit." She admitted, looking away. " One of the worst things that can happen to a stray is to have an injured leg. A broken rib or two could be fine, but a leg? I’m hoping that a bone isn’t broken." She sighed, frowning before laying down. She was much more relaxed around him than yesterday. "I got sloppy. This is the consequence. I shouldn’t be here though, hm? I don’t wanna upset your owner and get you into more trouble."

Juno nodded solemnly. "I hope it's just minor injury that will heal on its own," the male said then glanced towards the house. "I have no idea how long my owner will stay mad at me. I just know that the running trip we take every weekend has been cancelled," he sighed sitting down too. "Can't really help it though, I knew the consequences," Juno said looking at Dahlia. "I'm sorry for not being able to feed you this time," he apologized.

"Well sorry that I’m so interesting you couldn’t help but follow." Dahlia joked, teasing him a bit. "Hopefully he doesn’t stay mad at you for very long. It seems as if overnight you’ve become a little more well known around here. The long legged dog running around the streets. Cats and dogs have been speaking about you." She said, sitting up.

Juno chuckled, "Oh I was just merely taking an evening walk, nothing to do with you," he teased her back his eyes telling her that the words weren't meant the harsh way. "Ho? So I'm celebrity around the streets now?" he joked but found it fascinating how fast the rumors seemed to travel around there. It almost seemed like the strays had their own network that relayed the information forward.

Dahlia laughed softly at his words, shaking her head with amusement. "Oh really? Well then, I suppose I’m just hanging out in a random backyard. Nothing to do with a handsome dog at all." She turned her head away. "That’s exactly what you are. It was mostly the pigeons who saw you. They’ve already relayed the message to everyone else. I’ve seen dogs lurking around to try and get a chance to either speak to you or get something of yours."

Juno blushed a little when she said that he was handsome. Sure he had been with several females before, but none of them had exactly called him handsome. It felt new and strange, but oddly... he seemed to like it. "Oh, handsome dog you say? And who might that one be?" Juno asked deciding to tease her a little. He then listened her to tell about the news. "Seems like I will need to guard the house even more closely from now on," he huffed amused.

Dahlia wagged her tail, thumping it against the ground. "Hm.. I suppose it may be you. Or that handsome mastiff fellow down the street. Who knows?" She teased him in return, enjoying their time together. "Don’t worry.. some of these folks are all bark no bite. But.. soon you’ll have a few more admirers." Though it caused a slight pang in her heart, she said it.

"That mastiff?" Juno asked almost horrified look on his face. "But isn't he full of wrinkles?" he asked playing along with the tease. "I very much like to assume that you are speaking of me, the lady of the night," he smiled at her. He then thought over what it would be like to have more dogs admiring you like a statue. "I sure could deal with lesser attention from the others. I have been loner my whole life, why now when I'm getting older would I become like one of the world's seven wonders that everyone would come to admire?" he asked.
