Dahlia had tensed slightly when Juno pulled her closer to his body. She was a tad bit nervous to be this close to another dog. Especially a male of his size. But she soon relaxed into hit warmth, leaning into him. "I’ll help you. I’ll be happy to tear some human’s hand off." She slightly wagged her tail, mostly kidding. Mostly. "It does. It hurts a lot. I’m not great at being hurt, I won’t stay off of it." She sheepishly said, watching him closely. "I’ll be alright. Though I really do appreciate your concern for me. Do you have any food? I can get you some. I’ll find the best and freshest human leftovers for you. I could go to one of those human food stores and get you something. They throw away a lot of stuff." She rambled on for a moment.

Juno chuckled softly. "Now that I have access to my house again, we will be fine. My owner tends to keep his cupboard's stocked," he smiled to her before getting up. "I'll go to find us something to eat. I'll be back in a moment," Juno said as he trotted inside sniffing around to figure out what there would be available that he could easily share with Dahlia.

"Oh.. right." Dahlia said, somewhat embarrassed about what she had said. She watched him walk away before heaving herself up, unable to put any weight on her injured paw. She didn’t want to be alone right now, trailing after him. She hesitated before going inside. The female was obviously wary, sniffing around the home. She eventually found Juno’s bed, sitting down infront of it and sniffing at it. "This place is nice."

As he was searching for food, Juno noticed Dahlia's scent getting closer and stronger knowing that she was inside too. He had found a bag of kibbles for them knowing that he was allowed to eat those. Juno carried them to his bed where Dahlia was waiting for him. "It really is. Very spacious even for someone as big as me," he chuckled softly before he ripped the kibble bag open and laid down on his bed. "Please eat your fill," he encouraged her with a gentle smile.

Dahlia nodded and smiled, her nose twitched as she caught the kibble’s scent. She licked her chops, quickly digging in as soon as Juno said she could. She eagerly ate, filling her belly. She licked her maw as she finished, shaking herself off. She licked the side of the male’s muzzle a few times in thanks before laying down a couple feet away. "Thank you Juno. That was amazing. Who knew kibble could be so good? You eat this everyday?” She asked, wagging her tail.

Juno watched her to eat with a small smile as he allowed his thoughts to wander. "I'm glad you liked it," he said. "And yes, multiple times a day, though he tries to give me real meat at least once a day too," Juno said making himself comfortable in his dog bed. The house felt empty now that his owner wasn't here, but he was still grateful that Dahlia had chosen to stay.

"That sounds cool.. real meat once a day?” Dahlia muttered, mostly to herself. She curled up in a tight ball, resting her tail over her nose. This was her most common sleeping position. It Allowed her to stay as warm and protected as she could. "Hopefully you don’t go crazy without your human. I think you’re better than some of those little dogs who hang out in bags all the time." She softly said, sleepy and exhausted. "But.. I’m sure he’ll come back soon. I’ll stay here with you until he does. Probably."

Juno chuckled. "This isn't the first time I'm without him. Of course I'm worried about him and his health, but I shall manage," he said. Noticing that she was tired, Juno decided it was for the best to let the female finally get some sleep. "Sleep Dahlia, nothing bad will happen, I promise," Juno said softly watching her for a moment before he laid his head down to get some rest too.

Dahlia yawned softly, sleepily gazing over at the male. "You’re strong for a pet." She quietly mumbled in a teasing voice. "Well.. strong in general. Both emotionally and physically." She drifted off to sleep a moment later, quite comfortable and warm now. This was the best sleep she had ever gotten.

Juno chuckled softly at her remark before he allowed sleep to take over. He felt quite happy that she was there even though he didn’t know how long their warm relationship would last. He knew that his owner could definitely make things complicated. Juno also knew that his loyalties would always lie with his owner. He had done so much for him that he could only try to repay all the good he had ever done to him.

Dahlia was up the next morning, though she was rather groggy. She managed to heave herself up, a strained whine escaping her as she attempted to put her weight on that pesky paw. She sighed and stayed off of it, limping outside to do her business. She did just that, marking a few corners of the yard. Then she went over to the dog house and lapped up some of the water from the bowl. She made her way back inside afterwards, sniffing around. She began exploring, a bit more at ease now that there wasn’t a human wandering around here. She licked her maw, sitting down infront of the borzoi and staring at him. She remained silent as she did so, just watching.

Feeling that someone was watching him, Juno woke up from his sleep. He yawned as he lifted his head up giving a little smile to Dahlia. "Good morning, miss Dahlia, did you sleep well?" he asked before getting up. The Borzoi took his time to stretch out before he headed outside to do his business and sniff around his territory marking it as his again. He blinked softly at the brightness of the morning watching as other dogs passed by with their owners. Some even tried to bark at him, clearly intimidated by his size, but the male just tilted his head before sitting down to watch them silently.

"Good morning!” Dahlia brightly said, slightly wagging her tail. She quickly moved out of Juno’s way as he got up. She padded along beside him, rather clingy as she grew more fond of him. When he did his business she moved off somewhere, scratching at her side. A soft yawn escaped the dog before she trailed along the fence line, barking back at any barking dogs. "Is this what you do all day? Seems a bit.. boring.” She asked and sat down beside him, licking her paw. "Are you gonna stay here the entire time? We could explore or.. something.”

"I have no idea when my owner will get back home, but I can't left the house unguarded. There are always those around who try to break in," Juno said looking around. "Besides you shouldn't be moving around with that paw of yours and should let it to heal first," he told her. Juno chuckled softly when she asked whether this was all he did for the day. "No, I do other things too, though... most of them involve my owner," Juno said looking into the distance before he got up again shaking his head a little to get the bad thoughts out of his head.

"Right.. well, I did say I would stay." Dahlia laid down, resting her head on the grass. She gazed at the borzoi, chuffing softly. "Bah.. it doesn’t matter very much. I’ll be alright soon." She perked her ears up at his next words. "Well, we could maybe play? Unless you want to sleep again.. or something." She sat up and scooted closer, leaning against him again. "I don’t know.." she sighed. "I just want to do.. something.”
