There had been ideas rejected that had nothing to do with the African environment. Eg.: animal suggestions, event suggestions, features that needed a completely different continent. So I presume that this idea will be rejected because it is not about African Lions.

However, manes might be a different category, so I couldnt know for sure. I am not saying anything about this. I dont support it, but neither do I 'not support' it. I am on the fence because it is an African lion sim, but manes might be an exception of the 'Africa only' rule.

Well.. I don't really like the idea of it being a mutation.. I'm /extremely/ unlucky when it comes to mutations x.x

I'd prefer to just be able to have the mane on a normal lion, but it's up to the creators. :/

It's not that I want a mane that's like, barely any mane at all and THAT short. I want a mane that looks like that of an Asiatic lion.. please read the entire Original Post and look at the pictures before saying there's a mane similar to it already when there's not. XD

That Tsavo mane is basically just random clumps of fur on the neck, and also very short.

What I'm looking for is a mane that is not 100% developed and big and fluffy like a normal lion's mane, but thinner and with not much on the head, so that the ears remain fully visible. This mane would run all the way down to the back, chest, and trail a bit down the stomach. The tail tuft would be pretty large, and there'd be elbow tufts. The mane would be kinda drooping and hanging, and be more 'silky' looking than a normal poofy lion mane. XD

It'd look similar to, as I've mentioned in a previous post, Scar's mane. However less 'full' looking than Scar's and more thin.

Support! I don't think this is a big game changer. It's a nice little feature that people can choose to have or not. Personally I would like more variety in manes and I would love to see this in the game :3

I believe it was stated that the mane didn't have to specifically say it's an "Asiatic" mane.. it could be labeled as something else entirely. Don't get me started on ideas already implemented that aren't necessarily exclusive to "Africa".

Also, Tsavo mane looks nothing like Asiatic manes. If you put the two side by side, there's a huge difference.. especially in the floof down the chest area ;)

What I fear is that if this is implemented, then people will start on with non-Africa features with the excuse that we have 'non-African lion manes'.

Just the same way as people are asking for absurd fantasy elements because there are some fantasy features within the game.

The mane does not have to be called asiatic. It could just be a mane. Just like the other manes.

There are no wavy maned lions IRL, and Barbary Lions are extinct. Asiatic lion /mane styles/ won't be that bad, especially if they're not named as asiatic, only resemble an asiatic's mane in appearance.

The manes of Lioden are all based off of real, still existing lions. The barbary lion is extinct in the wild maybe,but still exists. And some lion manes do have a kind of wavy appearance. Although, in the Lioden mane it was emphasized.

And I understand that you just want the mane to be based off of it, but sadly I suspect that this would start an avalanche of non-African suggestions because something was based off of Non-African stuff.

And Asiatic lions are also existing, real life lions.

In fact, the Masai lions, who also live in Africa, some have manes that closely resemble an Asiatic lion's mane.

I'm not saying call the mane Asiatic or even say it's based on an Asian lion... it's still just a lion, whether it comes from Africa or not. This game is lion-centric, right? So it wouldn't hurt to add a mane style based on a real lion subspecies.

Subspecies that live in Africa. Not completely universal lion-centric. It is about African lions. Developers emphasized it.

Then why dont you alter your first post saying that you want it based on the Masai lion mane, instead? Less complaints.

Big support from me - it's a mane type I'd love to have in my pride. :3

I don't agree at all with a lot of the arguments against. This is,in my opinion a lion sim - we have included a huge variety of extras that are not that realistic because, this is a sim, things need to be kept fun above all else, even realism.

This is a feature that wouldn't hurt anybody, but bring fun and challenges to those who want it. I don't understand such negativity for it?

As for getting a tonne of suggestions for non-African items and feautures,surely common sense could be used? If the suggestion isn't something directly to do with lions,then why would it be implemented?

Lastly, why couldn't, genetically, there be a low chance of throwing an asiatic mane? Asian and African lions are obviously related....surely the ability for it to pop up could be possible?!

Because in my opinion, Asiatic lions look better than Masais. Masais have /similar/ manes, however not the exact same characteristics of what I'm asking for. :/ I just want a mane that looks like the pictures I put in my post. Call it Asiatic-based or don't. I'm just suggesting it looks like those pics.
