The fact that people are still arguing this both astounds and annoys me.

Is it a realistic suggestion? Check.

Would it fit in with the game art wise without looking out of place? Yep.

Would it be hard to implement? No.

Then what's the issue? Sure it's not an AFRICAN lion mane but as it's been pointed out most people couldn't really tell the difference between the two subspecies anyway and African lions do have similar manes. Nor does it have to be called "Asiatic". The staff could easily implement this and call it "Scruffy" or "Sparse" mane.
I also don't see how this could make people suggest non African themes. It's not like of they did add this in and call it "Asiatic" there will be suggestions to add in pandas. I also don't think it should be restricted to a mutation, it should be just a normal mane type anyone can customize to. Compared to everything we have in the game that isn't all that realistic it is not that out of place. It's just a mane type.

On top of that Xy himself could have easily just googled the generic term "lions" or "lion manes", found a picture of an Asiatic lion, and based a mane off of it for us to vote on without any of us being none the wiser.

Plus having Abe Lincoln lions would be cool. All they would need to complete the look would be chin tufts.

Guys, grow up. >.< Leave the original poster alone with the argument "its not african based!!!". We get it, it was said half a dozen times already and was met with very reasonable supports of it just being BASED on the mane posted. They even showed there are african lions with a very similar mane. Walla, there, african lion based.

PLUS There are several mane types now that are not african lion based. Okay, the argument is dead there. Enough. Y'all went from just pointing out it wasn't "african based" to downright attacking the original poster.

This is 16+, act like it. Read through prior posts, and stop posting the same argument over and over and over again. Its a suggestion. We have so many things that are not african based. So, saying sometimes like "it'll cause more non african based suggestions!". :c Um, has anyone recently checked the suggestion area? We already have a ton of non african ideas. Anyone looked at custom decor? Totally all african based, yup. ;P

And.. Hello, last time I check, we didn't see zombie zebras in africa. :P

Just a small correction: So far all manes were based off of African lion manes.

And please do not bring up events. They are an exception when it comes to items. And it is still a zebra and not a panda lol

I still don't think the possibility of people suggesting more non African themes will be an issue.

I mean even if someone suggested pandas (going by your example) and used the "Well we have an Asiatic mane." excuse it still would not be a valid argument and wouldn't have any real basis. Suggesting a mane is one thing, suggesting animals not native to Africa is another.

That really huge maned lion in Xy's pics there? That's not an African lion, it's a BARBARY lion, which are EXTINCT now. Using that thread is not valid.

It's a LION. This is a LION sim. We can afford to have LION based things, even if it's not an AFRICAN lion mane, it's still a LION, in a LION sim.

Just pointing out that Barbary lions in the wild are but there are some possible decendents in captivity that exist. I believe they're trying to reintroduce them as well. The lion there could have very well have been just a really really hairy lion, not necessarily a Barbary.

So if we can have Barbary manes, the mane of lion only found in captivity, when Lioden doesn't take place in captivity, we can have an Asiatic mane, even though LD doesn't take place in Asia.

I'm just pointing out that Barbary lions are not confirmed to be completely extinct...
