Dean

I was glad to be spending time alone with Uru since she was the most beautiful lioness I had ever seen "Your beautiful" I told her when we were alone, I would keep her safe after all she was the princess and it was my job to keep our future queen safe from harm.

Uru

I returned home carrying a sleeping Banira, she had a great day according to her, Dean was carrying a sleeping Kawaii, both girls had worn themselves out. I lead the why to my den and placed Banira in her sleeping place, while Dean put Kawaii in her sleeping spot. I signalled Dean to follow me quietly so not to make them.

Coming out of the cave, I was met with mom, Hono and a very proud looking Hikari. Hikari had gone on her first hunt today, she come back with a dead zebra in her jaws, which she passed to Rei as she walked pass. Rei then took the prey to the dinning chamber as I watched the whole pride follow her, including Dean, Ahadi, my went to get Banira, and Hono went to get Kawaii. Hikari and I walked slowly to the dinning chamber, talking and catching up about each others days.

On entering the dinning chamber Hikari left me with a I will speak to you later look, before joining her family. Hono smiled at me along with Ongaku, Kawaii who was still sleepy, but Nikumu only glare at me. I ignored my uncomfortable feeling, and went to join the others. There was no room. Everywhere was full and there were even a few arguments breaking out here and there.
I grabbed my fair share of zebra meat, which was my all time favourite and searched for a quiet spot to eat. I become aware that Ahadi was sitting on his own in a quiet corner of the chamber, there was enough room for one more. Making my way to Ahadi's corner, he stopped eating and looked up at me. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" I asked him. He gave me a small smile which I gladly returned, before he nodded. I sat down and began eating, but I could help notice a glare coming from Dean aimed at Ahadi.

After eating, Ahadi and I exchange a soft good night to each other before he headed into the den. I wanted to make sure mum knew where I was going at this late our. mum was just putting Banira back to sleep. "Hey mum. Dean asked me to go the waterhole with him tonight is that okay." I asked hoping that she would say that I couldn't go, but no such luck. "Of course sweetheart, have fun." she said giving me a lick on my head. Great Thanks mum. Dean was waiting for me at the entrance. "You ready to go Uru." he asked with a smile. I just nodded and made our way out. "Be careful Uru and be back by the time when the moon is high in the sky." I heard mum called after me.

Half way to the waterhole, Dean was walking a bit too close for comfort. I was staring at the stars, it was a beautiful night. Dean leaned in, whispering softly into my ear, "Your beautiful." He said with a smile, while giving me a nuzzle. I was shocked, pulling away I continued walking. Dean we right by my side I looked at him, his smile had fade, now there was a frown.

Uru was unaware that nearby she was being watched by someone in the shadows.

Dean

I was going to speak to her father about becoming her betrothal so that I had a chance to be with her. "We should go back" I said to her. I guess I could talk to him now when we had gotten back after all I was sure he'd allow me to since I had proven myself as such so I didn't see any reason why not however I could only wonder. Ahadi fell to sleep a little while later, he stayed close to the queen as he liked spending time with her.

Uru and Dean were heading back to Priderock, the nuzzle forgotten. Uru was thinking to herself, "I think it is time that I had quite word with dad about my betrothal."

Uru was brought out of her thought by a rustling coming from in front of her and dead. She stopped in her tracks. Dean being over protective, quickly got in front of her, with his fangs bared.

The rustling got louder, and an evil cackle could be heard, then from out of the shadows stepped Nikumu flanked by several hyenas.

"Nikumu what are you going here, and with hyenas?" Uru gasped as Nikumu was also holding a very frightened Banira in her jaws.

Banira was crying, and she was scared. "URU HELP ME!" She screamed to her older sister, while tears were running down her cheeks.

"Put her down" Dean growled at Nikumu taking a step forward and unleashed his claws, he wouldn't allow anyone to harm Uru or her family. He could protected them if he needed to even if it meant he'd be killed.

Nikumu pasted the frightened cub to on of the hyenas at the back. She noted that Dean had unscathed his claws and he was growling at her. But she wasn't going to let that stop her carry out her plan, she headed to get rid of Uru and maybe the little brat to. "Why couldn't Dean see that what I'm doing is for him?" She thought to herself.

Nikumu watched Dean take a step forward. Snickering she said with a snarl, "I wouldn't do that if I was you Dean, or this little one could get hurt." She was gave an evil chuckle, while placing a sharp claw at Banira's neck.
"So I suggested that you Dean take a step back," she growled while pressing her claw in, making Banira whimper.

Uru gasped. She wanted nothing more than to get Banira to safety but she couldn't risk her life. "Dean please listen to her." She begged with tears falling down her cheeks.

Dean

"Uru go get your father" I said to her, I would deal with this lioness personally and save Banira after all I knew I was faster then Nikumu as well as being stronger then hurt. I decided to take my chance and lepted onto Nikumu before she could harm Uru's little sister. I held my claws to Nikumu's thought.

Uru watched in shock as Dean leapt on to Nikumu and held his claws to her throat. "Uru get you father go!" Dean yelled at her, bringing Uru back to reality. She ran as fast as she could in the direction of home. She just hoped that she was fast enough.

Sekai

It was why pass the time that Uru and Dean should have come back from the waterhole. I was sitting with my sister Kaze. She was a white lioness with blue eyes and onyx Siamese. She was a spitting image of my father. kaze was only visiting for a few days from the neighbouring pride in the southern territory. I had started pacing back and forth.

"Where could they have got too?" I worried to Kaze. She looked at me going frantic with worry. She come over and placed a paw on my shoulder.
"Sekai you need to calm down. I'm sure they are on their way back right now. Let's wait in the den for them." Kaze said with a smile.

I was starting to relax a bit, I always do when Kaze was around. She was older than me so the fore a lot wiser. We walked side by side into the den only to be met with a frantic Mohatu. He eyes told be that something was very wrong. The dread I was feeling earlier come ten fold.
"Mohatu what's wrong?" Kaze asked. She had also seen the look of dread written on his face.
"Please tell me Uru and Banira are with you two" he asked. I looked at Kaze and she looked at me.
"Well Uru is with Dean at the waterhole, she asked me permission and I granted it, and last time I sure Banira she was sound asleep next to Ahadi." I told him. It wasn't until I saw Ahadi come out of the den to ask where Banira was that it dawned on me.

I raced inside the den and instantly smell the scent of hyenas. I checked all over the den but Banira was gone. "Mohatu she's gone, and there is hyena stink everywhere." I yelled, now the tears were falling down my face. Hono appeared on the scene as I was crying in between Kaze and Mohatu. "Have any of you seen Nikumu I can't find her, and I smelled hyenas in her den." We told her what had happen here as well.
Just then I heard faint yelling getting louder and louder, it I was Uru. She finally made it up to the den entrance gasping for breathe.

Uru

I made it, everyone and already been alerted. My mother asked me what was wrong she I told her.
"Mum, daddy Nikumu has Banira hostage with some hyenas. She ambushed us on our way back. She threatened Banira's life, but Dean has her pinned right now!"
My father gave an almighty roar. Telling the whole pride to follow me. I started leading the way, I only hope I wasn't to late.

Dean

I kept her pinned not allowing her to move mostly because I saw no reason to. I hoped that things would be ok however I could only wonder why she had done this. I never wanted any harm to come to Uru because I want to keep her safe. I wondered if things would be ok.

Nikumu

I was pinned. I had claws at my throat and they were Dean's.
Why was he defended her. She doesn't even love him. Not like do.
"Dean please let me up, please." I begged trying to get through to him. "I know I'm young, but I did this for you."
I saw confusion on his face. "Uru she doesn't even love you. I'm sorry but she don't."
I saw his eyes widen, as tears threaten to fall. "I love you Dean, I always have."
In the distant I could hear faints roars that were getting closer.
It was only a matter of time, before the king got here.

Dean

I noticed the king come however I could only wonder what would happen. He chased off the hyenas before looking at Nikumu, I knew she'd be likely to be banished mostly as she was a threat to the pride then again I couldn't blame him after all she had tried to hurt the princess.

King Mohatu along with the rest of the pride had finally come to where Uru had showed them. With a mighty Mohatu chased of the hyenas. The female hyena holding Banira gave a smirk at the king before throwing her in the waterhole. Banira could swim.

"NO MY BABY!" Sekai cried trying desperately to get to her cub, but was held back by Hono, Rei, and Kaze. "What are you doing you fools, let me go." She growled. Sekai saw Banira go under the waters surface, Sekai roared even louder for then to let her go.
But in a split second, a blur of yellow dived in the water.
"AHADI!!!" Uru cried.

Nikumu
I looked around me Dean was still on me. I saw the king stare down at me, my sister's were bundling a crying Uru, and my mother was trying to keep the queen calm.
I loved at the love of my life. "Well I guess this is the last time we ever see each other Dean." I said sadly. "I just wanted to tell you that I love you so much. I hope we meet again."
I closed my eyes as tears stained my fur, leaning up I gave Dean a lick on the cheek.

I hated her now for what she had done because I couldn't believe that she would have done this.

Uru

I waited, my whole body was a bundle of nerves, my mom was crying hysterically. I tried my hardest to calm her down.
I watched the water surface, all of a sudden, Ahadi burst up for air. I ran to him, I though he might be cold, so I hugged him, hard.

Nikumu

I looked up at Dean, I could seen the hate in his eyes. I have ruined everything.

Ahadi

I had not clue why I had done that since I guess it had been instice however I guess I wasn't thinking much at all myself. I sighed to myself liking Uru so close to me because I had come to really like her not that I'd tell her that.
