Nikumu was sad that Dean had blown her off to be by Uru's side. She just stalked back to her den for the night.

"Young cub you are part of my pride, so you are welcome to enter the den" Mohatu answered the cubs questioning look.

Sekai looked up to see Dean walk towards the den entrance, she nodded her approval for him to see Uru. She couldn't want to start a science, not when Uru had not woken up yet. "Thank you Dean. For saving Uru" Sekai said with gratitude.

"Do you think she'll be ok?" He asked her worriedly, he was very worried about her and wanted her to be ok however he could only wait, Ahadi came over to Mohatu wondering about things. Ahadi laid down beside the king.

Sekai could hear the concern in Dean's voice. She looked at him and signed. "We won't know anything until Rafiki gets here." Giving Dean a small smile Sekai went to lay down by daughter's side. Not really interesting in talking to anyone.

Mohatu noticed that the scrawny cub that Uru has rescued a crew dayscago, had started to put weight on. Mohatu could see the worry on the young cubs face. He decided to break the ice.

"So young cub, I can see you are worried and a bit scared of me but I ensure you, I am not going to kill you like other lions would."

He looked down at the cub and continued.

"My daughter can see a nice lion in your heart, and the sorrows you have gone through in you eyes. I know you recently lost your mother, for that we are truly sorry. But what horrors that caught you of a night time."
The cub looked up at the king, with a sad look on his face.
"Yes I hear the whispers in your sleep, little one. There is no need to be afraid of me, my mate, daughters or anyone in my pride. No one will ever hurt you, ever again."

Just at that moment Rei arrived and breathlessly announced that Rafiki the Shaman had arrived. Behind Rei stood a Mandrill with a walking stick with several coconuts tied to it.

Rafiki took a look at Uru and did what he could, he knew Uru was going to be alright thanks to Dean as he had managed to get her out in time. He told the king that his daughter would be alright and would need to rest for a few days. Dean smiled a little, he was sure the king would chose him as Uru's betrothal after all he had saved Uru's life.

The whole pride was relieved when Rafiki gave the all clear on Uru's health. Of course all of the praise went to Dean as he was the one who saved Uru.

Uru

I woke up to a mandrill looking at me. I knew who he was so I was not worried. My mother was right next to me, my little sister was asleep, but her face was tear stained so she much of cried herself to sleep. Mother nuzzled me lovingly. "Uru are you ok how are you feeling honest?" She asked, while cleaning my fur.
"I'm a little tired, my muscles hurt. Mom what happened?" I asked. I can't remember what happened, and now the sun had started to set.
"You fell into the deep end of the waterhole." Dean announced. I looked at him. He was sitting at the entrance, he walked over to where I was lying. "I saw you go under the water and dived in, and saved you."

I looked up at Dean, he came towards me and gave me a small nuzzle. "I was really worried about you." I only gave him a small smile, before yawning.
"Well I think that it's time to let Uru get some sleep." My mum said to Dean, who gave her a respectful nod before leaving.
I saw much dad coming into the den with a big smile on his face. He nuzzled me and then my mother lovingly. "I am so glad you are awake finally. Are you ok dear?"
"Yes daddy I'm fine, just a little tired." I replied returning his nuzzle. "Yes I'm sure you are tired, as it is time to sleep." He headed to his rock, falling asleep almost instantly.

I giggled to myself, as I heard my dad's loud snores. I noticed that my mom and sister were also a fast asleep. I noticed that the yellow cub was walking towards me. "Hey. Are you ever going to tell me your name?"

Ahadi

I just looked at her for a moment mostly because I wasn't sure what I should do. I just laid down a little away from her thinking about what Dean had said to me since he had said that it was my fault that this had happened to Uru and I guessed that I had believed him.

Uru

The cub didn't say anything, he just laid down few feet away from me and went to sleep.
I knew one thing is that I didn't nearly fall in. I was pushed.
I don't know who and I don't know why, but I will find out.

After my little rant to myself, sleep was finally taking over. I drifted into a seamless slumber.

Ahadi

A few weeks passed and I had been getting used to the pride and had told them my name. I was happy being here even though Dean seemed to really hate me, Dean was wondering if he was going to be Uru's betrothal after all he was just waiting for the king to tell him.

A few weeks later . . . .

Uru
Well it has been a few weeks since Hikari, Ongaku, Kawaii and I saved an orphaned yellow cub. A lot has happened since then, what with me being pushed in the the waterhole and nearly dyeing, and Nikumu being completely separate from her sister and me.

Well all that is behind us, I have just finished another lesson in being queen this one was on how to solve conflict without fighting, I learned a lot. Now I was on way back to Priderock to fetch my baby sister, Banira. It was her first time outside the den without an adult with her, and she was so excited. I made it to our den just before noon, it was a beautiful day, with blue skies, and birds singing in the trees.

On entering the den, I passed a gold lion with green eyes and the beginnings of a chestnut main, glaring at Ahadi, the yellow cub I rescued with my friends. He seems a lot happier now, with the pride but for some unknown reason Dean seemed to hate him. I kept walking, but was jumped by a very excited Banira. She was a vanilla lioness cub with onyx leg stripes and white eyes.
"Uru there you are. Can we go now please please pleeeease."
"Ok ok ok Banira, calm down calm down, stop jumping on me." I was glad that she had got off me.
After talking quickly with my mother of where to go and where not to go.

On the way out of the den I was met with Dean. He had grown sweet and kind, but something told me not to trust him.
I also saw Ahadi on the way. Banira was joined by her best Kawaii on our outing.

"Good afternoon Dean" I called.
"Good afternoon Ahadi" I called with a grin. "I taking Banira and Kawaii to look around the Pridelands, I could do with the company." Well with Hikari on her first hunt today, Ongaku and Nikumu were have hunting lessons, I just left me with the younger ones.

Dean

I smirked and decided to use this a my chance to spend some time with Uru after all I was still hoping to be her mate mostly because I knew I was the perfect male for that. I walked beside Uru closely, Ahadi followed after us, I really still didn't like him but as long as I was with Uru then I could keep an eye on her.

Uru

As we made our way to the waterhole, I made it my job to point out the various things in the Pridelands. I made sure Banira didn't go anywhere, that means that I couldn't see her. I didn't really need to worry though as Kawaii thought it was her job to explain to Banira everything.

I was still keeping a close watch on my baby sister and Kawaii, when I realised that Dean was walking a little too close to my for my liking. I tolerated Dean as a friend, after all he did save my life, but I could not see us going any further than just friends. I found Dean's was being a little over protective when it come to me talking to Ahadi.

"So Ahadi how do you like the Pridelands so far?" I asked politely, walking beside him, much to Dean's dislike.

Ahadi

"Its nice" I said watching Dean closely, I could see that he was watching me closely. He'd been doing that ever since the incident with Uru and I guessed that I didn't blame him after all I was pretty much the only one in his way at the moment. Dean looked at Uru "Hey Uru do you want to go to the watering hole later" Dean said to her.

Banira

I could believe that the Pridelands where so much fun. With Kawaii here. I having a great time. But what is up with the hole Dean, Uru, Ahadi thing? oh well, hey look a butterfly.

Uru

I was pleased that Ahadi had finally starting to open up a bit more. I could help notice that he was watching Dean very closely when we were walking together. what was Dean's problem, with Ahadi anyway, I couldn't understand it. I looked up at Dean who was still glaring at Ahadi, I had to do something.
At that moment Banira squealed in delight as she was chasing a butterfly, I could help laugh at her innocence, I reminded her not to go to far ahead, but told Kawaii to keep an eye on her.
I heard Dean call me, as he started walking besides me again. "Hey Uru do you want to go to the waterhole later?"
I stopped in my tracked, just the thought of going back to the waterhole with Dean sent shivers down my spine. My fear must of showed on my face, as Dean's smile fell.
"Okay I will go with you Dean." I replied, and his face lit up, I saw that Ahadi had fallen back and was watching Banira. Banira had really warmed up to him and they were fast friends.
I called to Ahadi, "Hey Ahadi, do you want to come with Dean and me to the Waterhole later."

Ahadi

I shook my head "I'm thinking about staying at priderock" I said to her, I wasn't really wanting to go their mostly as I knew Dean didn't want me hanging around Uru and I respected that after all I didn't really want to get into a fight with Dean mostly since he was a lot stronger then I was since he was older. When I was older I would stand up against him however till then I would just play it safe.

Uru

On hearing the hesitation in Ahadi's voice and the alarming look he gave Dean, I must say that my heart fell a little. I wanted to get to know Ahadi a little better, but with dean insisting that he had to protect me, it was a little difficult right now.
"Oh okay Ahadi no problem maybe tomorrow." I knew that Dean wouldn't like it but tough, I was sick of him treating me like a baby.

I agreed to go with Dean to the waterhole later on once I had taken Banira and Kawaii home first. I was not looking forward to being alone with Dean.
