As others seemed to exit the den she looked to Kerrin, becoming curious as to what Kenai had spoken to him about. "So what happened in the chat between you and Kenai?" she asked him, he's seemed awful cheery after all. Her tail thumped s a little on the ground as she was excited for the news he would tell. It had been wandering around her head as soon as he'd mentioned he wanted to talk to her, she was just praying it was as good as his excitement made it seem.

"Alright, there's good news and bad news," Kerrin paused for a moment, deciding which start with. Upon deciding, he breathed in, preparing to talk for a while. "I'll start with the good news," he began, "I have been appointed Beta! Which means... you'll be taking my place as Zeta." He wagged his tail happily before laying down in front of her to tell her the downside to their promotions.

"You've been made beta, that's brilliant! You deserve it" she murred softly and began to lick his chin excitedly. "What? Me as Zeta....I didn't think I'd be trusted enough" she frowned slightly in confusion, but soon it was taken over by happiness. "If that's the good news, what is the bad?" her tail stopped wagging as she looked at him, it appeared to be serious. Her mind began to go through all sorts of awful situations, it was panicking her a little as to some of the ideas she had.

Kerrin grinned and wagged his tail more as Cloud praised him. "She trusts you perfectly, don't worry," he reassured, looking deep into her dark eyes with his own hazel ones. "Now don't fret, the news isn't even incredibly bad, just...," he paused, searching for the right words, "risky and problematic." He swallowed again before speaking, "Kenai and Daemon have become mates and my brother has stepped down from his position. Now this means that Daemon will fill in for him as Kappa. With you taking my place as Zeta and him taking Tecumseh's position of Kappa, you'll have to work together."

Her pelt bristled as he spoke of the pair becoming mates, a soft growl coming from her maw. "What!? That means that mutt is going to have preferential treatment from our alphess. I don't want to work with him, you know I don't trust him. What is this pack coming to..." it was clear she was not happy at all. Her ears pinned back against her head as she curled up, burying her head into her pelt. With a deep sigh her eyes looked at Kerrin "if you ask me I think Kenai foolish for falling for such an untrustworthy wolf" she scoffed.

"You'll have the Beta on your side, my love," Kerrin purred, shuffling closer to Cloud. "It'll only go to hell if you two can't stop trying to murder each other every five minutes." He nuzzled into her, trying to calm his mate, "I know, I know, Daemon and her don't fit well together. Honestly, I don't expect them to last. They never showed interest in each other before the battle, only after. I think it was just in the heat of the moment that they thought they loved each other." As dusk began to set, Kerrin set his head on his mate's back.

Nodding her head she began to calm a little "if Kenai allows her infatuation to cloud her judgement though I shan't be happy" she had a habit of making herself very clear. "Maybe they won't, but you never know they may. Sometimes spur of the moment can turn into more, I hope not though" the thought made her shudder slightly. Feeling Kerrin's head rest upon her beck she leant into him, her eyes closing as the sunlight began to fade. A large yawn came from her maw as she began to settle down.

Soren padded alone along the border. He'd had a nightmare of his corrupted mother, and those never went over well afterward. While he hadnt told anyone, he hadnt felt too great the last few days, and guessed that the nightmares were the result of his under the weatherness. He had woken up really early and padded out to patrol the borders. Upon hearing a sudden call, he pricked his ears up, suddenly cautious. As he neared the source, he sat down a few feet upwind of her, watching her in amusement as she muttered irritably about deer droppings, her sister, and sunrise being smelly "What's up, little pup?" He hummed.

Aela leaped to the side, her golden fur fluffed out in alarm like a dandelion. Landing in a crouch prepared for flight, she growled at Soren until she recognized him and relaxed though her pelt remained bristled. Eyes narrowed, she snapped "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?". Aware suddenly that he had caught her wiping dung on his territory, she stepped back over to her side and forced a bashful grin "No hard feeling, right?"

Soren wrinkled his nose, his head pulsed but he always had so much fun taunting this one in particular, for some reason. "Of course there are hard feelings, look at the poor grass! Do you think it wants to get poop rubbed on it from someone else who doesnt want it on them either? So rude, little miss." He grinned and stepped toward her, his face only a little bit from hers "You called out to someone, are you alright?" His voice was calm and kinder, but his eyes glimmered with amusement as he leaned toward her, wanting to make her fluff up more.
