 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

It’s been quite chaotic around here lately, with all the earthquakes a while back, and then one of our broodmothers passed, and her replacement is still quite young, and it’s just been difficult to look after everyone. Riene padded into the den, flanked by two larger lionesses, her Mistresses Calliope and Fiona. She settled by the entrance, nodding to the pair. She'd keep a close eye on them, but she was rather curious about the older cubs. Fiona and Calliope, however, slipped right over to the younger ones. The starry-based lioness smiled, nudging her blue and red counterpart. She'd just caught sight of a rather adorable gray-cream cub (Butterfly). Fiona nodded, padding over with a serene smile. "Hello, little love." She said, eyes glittering with joy. "You're beautiful, you know that?" Calliope knew that the cub didn't fit the clan's color scheme, but she'd be a delight to have. Riene had wandered off, studying the larger cubs. Her pink gaze swept over the bunch, her tail flicking. She gave a toothy grin at the sight of a large, grinning cub (Sunny). "You'll do, I suppose." She said, gesturing the cub over. The three lionesses regrouped, Fiona and Calliope leading the smaller, quiet cub and the larger cub following Riene. The queen took the lead, padding up to one of the broodmothers, Cula she supposed. The starry lioness nodded to the cubs, a smile appearing on her broad maw. "We'd, ah, like to... adopt these cubs." "Yes, my king has become quite old," she'd murmur, settling down within the shadowed cavern, her eyes lidded and body low, "so we've decided to try and find the next generation for his successor." The dark-furred lioness scanned the area, her white gaze ominous and glowing beneath the cool shade that fell over her. She searched through the small crowd of cubs, smile slight upon her maw, before she spotted the same duo of cubs she'd seen previously. Curiosity whelmed within her, as well as the most slightest indication of heartache. They reminded her of her kin, long before she'd joined her king in his pride, though she recognized the glimmer in another visitor's eyes. She would not have them. "I think I may come back later, when there's more cubs to choose from. Terribly sorry to waste your time." Standing quickly, Mare vanished amid the tall grass of the savanna, disappearing outside to return to the secrets of her pride. 0 players like this post! A young Queen wanders in, behind her is another lioness. They both look around at the lions and lionesses that were ready for adoption, she wanders, looking for the correct Cub for her growing pride. Finally, she stops at one lion, her name is Bailey. “The cub, she is like a pale desert. Quite beautiful,” She pauses, “Hello, I am Arkaral. The Queen of my pride.
