Plot: In this forest, winters are harsh. These past few years have been hard for the wolves in the forest. Just when they thought they were done for, Mother Nature answered their desperate calls. They were blessed with a kind winter. While the wolves regained their strength, in only delayed the inevitable. Despite the one nice winter, it wasn’t enough for the packs to continue living like this. There isn’t enough prey to go around, and packs keep trespassing into each others territories. Alphas struggle to keep their pack alive. There is talk that the next winter will be the worst to come. Will your pack survive?  Map drawn by me Weather It is early winter; the snow is thin on the ground but is here to stay, and it will snow much more. The nights are growing colder and the wolves are cold when sleeping alone. Pups need their mothers now more than ever. So Far... Kai and Atlas have had their pups and they’re growing fast. The two packs have joined forces and are living together. The group managed to take down an elk. They all ate and brought back pieces for the pack. “Hey mom,” Matsi says, dropping a large chunk of meat at her feet. “Hello Matsi,” Atlas greeted her son. “No sign of Banshee anywhere?” Matsi shook his head. He was worried about her. “Maybe later we can put together a group to go look for her.” Matsi nodded. Ahanu carried a large chunk of meat over to Sol. “This is for you and Kato... we didn’t bring any for Banshee...” he hoped she didn’t mind. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Sol smiled. "Thank you Ahanu, I hope it wasn't too much trouble and uh don't worry about Banshee if she is hungry she will catch something" Sol replies. Kato watched Matsi approach his mother and noticed that Matsi seemed worried. "Now he is worried...wasn't worried before" Kato mumbles before padding off to his own mother. "Hi Ahanu, have a good hunt?" Kato asked. Banshee calmly wandered around and sniffed everything she could sniff. "Something on your mind Ahanu?" Sol asks as she noticed the wolf's odd behavior. Sol stretched and looked Ahanu in the eyes. "I'm here if you need to talk, that goes for any of the other pack members as well" Sol says. Sol looks at Kato who seemed to be keeping his eyes on Matsi. "Kato whats wrong?" Sol asked. Kato shrugs and looks at his mother. "Nothing just thinking about what Banshee said before she left this morning, don't worry its nothing important" Kato said before taking his share of the meat. Banshee finally caught the scent of a rabbit and followed it. Banshee came across its burrow and sniffed to check if the bunny was in there. 0 players like this post! Like? |

“Uhh, no...” Ahanu told Sol. “I’m alright, just tired.” Ahanu walked over to the den where his mate lay nursing their 3 pups. “Hello Ahanu,” Kai greeted her mate. They rubbed heads gently. Sol turned to Kato and frowned. "Somethings wrong, after we've eaten we need to go find Banshee" Sol whispered. Sol quickly ate her part of the meat. "Mother we wont find her easy, she crossed the river and her trail will be gone now" Kato replied quietly. Kato was shocked to receive a very angry reply. "sometime's I wonder if you are my son giving up so easily, we will find her and bring her home, you stay here and wait if you want but I'm bringing my daughter back" Sol snarled quietly. 0 players like this post! Catori watched her pack in silence. None of the hunting group have mentioned the dead wolves to Nanook... maybe they all understand that this is the best thing for their packs survival. After eating their food Sol and Kato silently slipped away from the territory. Sol was on a mission to find Banshee and wasn't likely to give up so Kato followed to make sure his mother didn't get herself into trouble. The two wolves headed for the river and tried to think of ways to cross it, they had no idea how Banshee had managed to cross it safely. Banshee knew the rabbit was hiding and began furiously digging to get at it. Banshee had almost reached it when she heard a loud snarl from behind her. Banshee looked up to spot a small group of half starved wolves. "What do you want?!" Banshee snapped showing her fangs to the wolves. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Catori was wondering through the woods trying to follow the scents of strangers to kill, when she stumbled into trouble. There were a group of skinny wolves surrounding another. Catori had come up behind them. It took a few moments before she recognized the surrounded wolf as Banshee. Catori let out a deep growl. “What’s going on here?” Catori asked the strangers. Half of the small group turned to face Catori and without any warning the skinny wolves attacked Catori and Banshee. Banshee sighed and really didn't want to fight them so she tried to talk her way out of it. Suddenly Banshee yelped as she felt fangs rip into the left side of her face. Banshee pulled away at the same time the wolf without releasing its grip pulled away. Banshee turned her injured side away from the wolves and stood still in shock for a few moments before her shock quickly turned to rage and she leapt at the wolf that had bit her. Banshee pinned the wolf and glared down at the small male wolf. "explain!" Banshee demanded. Banshee's face felt as if it was on fire but she refused to react to the pain. "You were trespassing and hunting in our territory" the wolf lied. Banshee's glare hardened and she spoke with a much harsher tone, "a rabbit wouldn't feed your pack but something big would am I right?". Banshee didn't have a chance to hear the answer before the remaining wolves tried to attack her. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Catori pushed any wolves she could out of her way and ran to Banshee. She used her body to shield the strangers and grabbed Banshee with her jaws, trying to drag her away from them. “We have to go back! Let’s gets out of here!” Cato right yelled at Banshee. At the Den... Kai was laying in the den feeding her pups when Mateo came in to visit. “Hello Kai, how are they?” He asked shyly. “They’re good, they’re getting big fast.” Kai answered. The pups wiggled and squealed at her belly. “I wish there were pups around for them to play with. Atlas’ are a little big for them right now.” “Well, when they get older they’ll all be able to play together, and until then, they have each other.” Matsi told Kai. “Matsi, have you ever thought about having pups of your own?” Kai asked her little brother. “Well, yes, of course.” Matsi told his sister. 0 players like this post! "Fine!" Banshee snarled revealing her fangs. Banshee looked back to see the starving wolves fighting over the rabbit she had killed. Banshee growled and stormed off towards her crossing point on the river. Banshee was surprised to see her mother and brother trying to figure out how to safely cross. "they won't be happy when they see my face" Banshee calmly stated as she hesitated. "I'm sorry Catori thanks for helping me out back there, I won't say a word about you saving my hide unless you want me to but I think we could have taken them" Banshee said feeling uncomfortable as she spoke, she wasn't used to apologising and thanking others who she didn't trust fully. 0 players like this post! Catori said nothing, and continued walking back to the densite. Internally, she was conflicted. Why did she save Banshee? She wanted to tell herself it was instinct, but she’s never gone out of her way to help other before, regardless of whether it was life and death. Logically, she should have let Banshee die, one less mouth to feed, right? Catori knows that Nomad thinks she has no moral code. He thinks she’s a ruthless monster, but everything Catori does is for a reason. She has priorities. Her priorities are as follows: 1. Catori above all else. To ensure her survival she must put herself before everyone. 2. When she is fully safe, then she protects her pack, because there is safety in numbers. As long as she isn’t threatened, she will continue hunting for and protecting her pack (as long as it doesn’t interfere with her safety). Frankly, Catori doesn’t see how this is so hard to understand. But of course, her whole family has these priorities reversed, but for some reason she’s the bad guy. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Banshee crossed the river and approached Sol and Kato. "you two miss me too much or something?" Banshee asked. Banshee smiled warmly and tried to avoid showing her injured side to Sol. Sol's relief turned to concern and anger when she seen the state of her daughters face. "Banshee who did that to you" Sol snarled and bared her fangs. "mum I'm sure she'll tell us when we get back to the den site where she is safe" Kato said leading the way back to the den site as Sol questioned Banshee as they trailed behind Kato. As Catori arrived at the densite, she was greeted by no one. Her siblings all watched from afar, but they knew not to approach her. She had torn fur and lay away from the rest. Dakota saw her and her minor injuries and figured he should say something. He knew she wouldn’t snap at him, and even if she did, he was much stronger than her. “Hey Catori. What happened?” Dakota asked, nodding to her wounds. Actors opened one eye to look at him. “Got in a fight.” She mumbled. “Should we be concerned?” Dakota asked. “No, I’m fine.” “No, I didn’t mean concerned about you. Did they follow you here? Are we in danger?” Dakota’s voice was loud and serious now, catching Nomad and Tamaska’s attention. “Catori, what did you do?” Tamaska shouted from a little ways away. This caught the rest of the family’s attention, and soon they were gathered around Catori. Catori sat up at Dakota’s question, suddenly frightened. “Oh, I don’t know...
