Timber dipped his head in respect as the group approached the alpha. He kept his head lowered while Nanook spoke, taking the time to look over at who he was introducing. It was an uncomfortable feeling to have so many eyes on him at once, some hostile, but he trusted in Nanook that no one would hurt him while he was here. "Thank you for.. welcoming me." He turned to the male named Ahanu, listening respectfully, twitching his ears with interest as he recounted his pup-hood. "I see. You're very lucky to have been taken in by such an inclusive pack." He raised his head to look back at Nanook. "I'm very grateful to be here, Nanook. Thank you again for your hospitality. I don't want to be in the way; you can put me anywhere, I don't mind." He would hate to be the one extra mouth to feed that put the pack in danger of not surviving the winter, especially with young pups around.

Banshee woke up and decided she should introduce herself to the new pack member. Banshee looked at her mother for a moment but seeing her mother in a deep conversation with Kai, she relaxed a little and quietly approached the stranger. "uh hi there, I'm Banshee and I guess my mother and I aren't the new wolves around here now. I'm sure my mother will introduce herself to you at some point" Banshee says. Banshee was large in size for a female and made her mother look tiny when compared with each other.

Timber raised his tail in greeting when a female approached him from the side. His yellow gaze swept over her, sizing up her larger frame. This female is taller than I am! He found it a little strange to have to look up slightly to look into her eyes. "Greetings, Banshee. I'm called Timber; it's nice to meet you." His ears flicked as he gave her his full attention, turning towards her. "You said you're new too?"

"Yeah my mother joined this pack after my father went crazy and tried to kill the rest of the pack we had at the time, the rest of our pack were killed by my father eventually leaving only me my brother and mother alive. Now my brothers gone off on his own leaving my mother here with me. I think you'd like my mother she is very kind and loving" Banshee says. Banshee was used to looking down at others due to her height but tried to make herself look less Intimidating.

Catori watched the stranger, then looked at Dakota with an angry glare. “So you’re just gunna let this stranger into our home?” She whispered.

“Yes. If our alpha’s okay with it then so am I.” Dakota seemed unfazed at Catori’s anger. “Get over it Catori,” he said.

Catori’s wars went flat against her head and she growled at Dakota. Again, Dakota seemed unfazed. She was significantly smaller than him and no threat at all.

Matsi woke up to find Banshee gone. Slightly panicked, he jumped to his feet and looked around. When he saw she was still at the densite, he relaxed a little. He began grooming his paws, looking for something to do, when he saw Tamaska sitting by himself.

“Hey Tamaska,” Matsi greeted. “How do you feel about Timber?”

“Seems like a nice wolf. I think we can trust him,” Tamaska answered.

“I’m glad you think that. I think he’ll fit in well here,” Matsi answered.

Banshee smiled "welcome to the pack, I hope you stay here awhile it will be fun having someone else around, we'll I best be off to harass my mate and his brother" Banshee whispers before bounding off towards Tamaska and Matsi. Banshee grinned and launched herself at the boys, Banshee playfully tackled one of them.

Sol became distracted by her conversation with Kai by Banshee's behavior. Sol watched Banshee pounce and prance around like a young pup. "I have no words" Sol said.

Timber nodded, his ears pricking when Banshee mentioned her mate. "Ah, I see. I hope it will be fun as well." He felt a small warmth beginning to emerge in his chest despite the surrounding cold air. Maybe I'll really enjoy it here... He looked around to see the rest of the pack lazing or playing or sleeping; he realized it was nice to be surrounded by others for once.

Tamaska laughed as Banshee tackled him, playfully rolling her off of him. He was being gentle, nervous to hurt the pregnant wolf.

“So what do you think? Is he nice?” Marais asked, referring to Timber. He was hesitant to meet the wolf himself, if must be overwhelming for Timber to meet everyone at once.

Seeing that Timber was alone, Ahanu approached him to say hello. “Have you met the pups yet?” Aha u asked. “Typically, the pups and their mothers sleep in the den and everyone else sleeps around the opening. But we’ve been keeping the oldest pups outside the den to get used to it before the real winter comes.” Ahanu kicked the snow gently with his paw as he said this. “Those are my three, with my mate Kai,” Ahanu gestured to the mostly white wolf sitting near the den with the three black pups.

Kai looked at Sol, the at Banshee. “What’s going through your mind?” she asked softly. “We’re a family here, blood or not. You can trust us and vent to us. Now that I have pups I’ve realized that no matter how much I love them its nice to talk about the things that get on my nerves.”

The dark-pelted wolf let Ahanu approach. He had remembered from before what he had said about Nanook adopting him and he appreciated the positive first impression. "Hello again, Ahanu. I have not had the pleasure of meeting your pups yet, actually." He flicked his ears with a toothy grin, "You're a lucky brute. I would kill to have what you have, honestly."

"Tamaska I'm built like an ox you don't need to be afraid to mess around with me" Banshee said as she rolled away from Tamaska. Banshee looked up at Matsi and smiled. "He seems nice enough, I'm sure everything is a bit overwhelming for him right now and he could be feeling shy but he will reveal his true nature over time" Banshee replies.

"Banshee tried to hide the fact that her brother left, Its just reopened old wounds, I'm not sure if I can handle letting Kato go not by himself at least, I understand why he left but it still hurts me" Sol replied. "I don't know if we will see him again, I just feel angry but I know Banshee only covered it up to stop me or anyone else going after him" Sol added.

Ahanu smiled at Timber. “Well, I should go see them and let them know what’s going on.” Ahanu walked away from Timber towards his mate. He nodded at Kai and Sol then approached the pups.

“What’s going on, dad?” Bane asked.

“A new wolf is joining our pack,” Ahanu explained.

“Can we meet him?” Eva asked, wagging her tail gently.

“Eventually. Let’s let hi. Settle in first. He seems nice but make sure you’re always with another adult when you hang out with him, okay? He’s kind but we still don’t know much about him,” Ahanu explained. The pups nodded then began playing again.

“That’s true,” Tamaska replied. “Those are going to be some big pups, Matsi.”

“Good, they’ll have a better chance through the winter, like Ahanu’s pups,” Matsi responded.

“Is it just me, or do you guys think Nanook has been way too lenient lately?” Tamaska whispered to Matsi and Banshee. “He’s always put the pack first, he used to never take risks like this.”

“Ya, you’re right. But then Ahanu, Dakota, and Anoki aren’t being themselves either. They would have told Nanook what was what. I wonder what they have planned...” Matsi said. He was curious now. Have they been having meetings? They do it all the time but usually they tell the rest of the pack about it after. What’s going on with them...

“I’m sure Kato had good reason. He has been acting strange, he’s probably put a lot of thought into it. You should be proud you’ve raised a son so brave to go on his own when he believed it was right,” Kai said softly. “I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but don’t forget you still have a daughter, and she’s pregnant. She needs you now more than ever.”

Banshee looked at both of them for a moment. "doubt breeds violence, be careful what you say" Banshee whispers. "if they have been having meetings my mother was not involved, which concerns me a little" Banshee adds. "no Alpha should hide things from their pack but he might feel its the best decision for now who knows what's going on? Best not to question it now wait till later" Banshee says.

"I would be proud if I wasn't so scared for him, I've always had a pack to rely on but I was always told how hard being alone can be on a wolf, competition for food and a territory, fearing the shadows and what hides within, I also know that his chance of surviving will be less during this season" Sol says. "I know Banshee needs me but I lack experience, sure I've had two litters but they were never winter pups, I'm not sure if I will be a help" Sol admits

Timber dipped his head as the other male turned to leave. "Go right ahead; we can talk later." He waved his tail as Ahanu stepped away and he watched him speak to his son. It was definitely amusing to see the little pup so interested in his arrival, but he was also mindful that his impact as a loner would be important to the rest of the pack's opinion of him. For the moment, he decided to make a spot for himself at the mouth of the den. He rested his head on his paws, stretching out to watch the other wolves within the camp.

“Well, usually it’s Nanook, Anoki, Ahanu, and Dakota who have meetings. They talk about things like training pups, hunting, and sometimes watch arrangements,” Matsi explained.

“Maybe they talked about welcoming wolves into the pack... we’ve been thriving ever since you and your mother joined us. Maybe they think with an even bigger pack we’ll have a good chance at all of us surviving the winter,” Tamaska added.

Matsi could tell something was bothering Tamaska. Although he is extremely humble, Tamaska always wanted to be alpha one day and he kind of expected to be when his dad grew too old.

“You’ve gotten them this far. You’re doing something right,” Kai told Sol. “By spring we’ll be one of the strongest packs in this forest... as long as the mountain packs don’t make their way down here,” Kai said.
