The Oakwood Herd has been around for years. The forest they roam was once a peaceful, protected place for generations of deer to flourish in. But as humans and other animals begin to occupy the surrounding area their numbers have steadily fallen. They must move away from the forest to survive. They don’t know where they’re going but they must go. Will they leave before it’s too late or will the fall until the herd is nonexistent? Maela The doe found it hard to conjure sleep. Something about the whole concept of the journey made her feel uneasy, like even worse matters awaited them in their new home. Speaking of which...how would they even find their new residency? Did Hyssop know where that was, too, or would they just hope to receive a message along the way? Maybe it was just because Maela didn't want to leave the land in which she was born, and the dirt in which her mate and son rest. But either way, she got a bad vibe that prevented her from finding her rest. I don't like this. Not one bit. The doe shifted, attempting to find a comfortable position to lay in, but she was unsuccessful. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Roan was still awake when Sage finally thought she was rested enough. “We gotta be quiet little one,” she said nudging the small fawn away from the group. Even with the ever looming problems Sage has the same limply bounce in her step. She raced ahead and stopped waiting for the doe. Hyssop sat under a tree, his back rooted to the bark. Though he'd been told to rest up for the journey ahead, it was easier said than done. He wasn't keen on letting himself fall asleep, for the nightmares that he knew awaited him destroyed any possibility of a peaceful respite. He deduced that most of the herd felt that way, unable to sleep, having been forced to leave what they had called home for as long as they could remember. Truthfully, Hyssop didn't know where they were headed, or where they would end up, it was simply for Thelduin to decide, unless he received another premonition in the meantime. Albeit tired, he was restless all the same, though Hyssop wouldn't dare chance a wander in the forest alone. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Maela Finally, she knew what she needed to do. Wobbling onto her long legs, the doe shook her white-and-tawny patched pelt free of debris, ears flopping noisily in the process. The idea of leaving Thorn and Pebbles behind would haunt her until her demise, so if she didn't get to say her proper goodbyes...she'd never forgive herself, and she'd never be able to rest well again. It would be dawn soon, and Thelduin would therefore be eager to get up and leave. While he was always soft and understanding towards Maela, he'd be impatient about any lollygagging around. So now, she had to visit their graves. Right now, before it was too late to do so. Drawing in a deep breath, the doe turned and slipped into the shadows that were slowly lightening as the sky grew creamier and creamier in color. She picked her way through the hushed wilderness with delicate and carefully targeted steps, anxious about making the slightest sound. 0 players like this post! Like? |
