A time where vampire myths are commonly believed, and suspicion of the undead is high.
You reside in the town of Rivercrest, which seems like just another town, but when night falls it becomes far more sinister.

You are a vampire, and now it's time you have to choose whether you'll be swayed by your immortal bloodlust and feast to your undead heart's content, either manipulating your way to the top, using your wits to avoid being caught, isolating from the mortals and only interacting when it's time to feed, or simply slaughtering all those who oppose you. Or, you could try your best to shun who you are, and feed as little as possible, or only on consenting humans. But without feeding, you'll soon begin to find your immortality dwindling.
But, it's not just human hunters you have to worry about, werewolves will stop at nothing to rip you to shreds, if you're not careful, the toxic rays of dawn could soon turn you to mere ashes, or other vampires who find your existence irritating could try to slay you.

The roleplay is currently set in the 12th century.

As a vampire, you have to feed often, or you will begin to weaken. For every couple in-roleplay weeks, you have to feed, if you do not, your stats will drop by one, and your given immortality will soon begin to dwindle. You can kill an npc while feeding, or you can try your best to restrain yourself from completely killing them, or even ask for consent, but however, all of these come with their own consequences.

For example, if you try to ask an NPC and it fails, (An action that takes into consideration the NPCs personality, their relationship with you and your own Charisma stat.) Their suspicion of you will be very high, which will cause other NPCs to begin to shun or distrust you, or even hire mercenaries to hunt you down. The same with killing, if you're caught while feeding or killing, the town's suspicion of you will rise dramatically.

As the roleplay progresses over the irl months, and from how fast the roleplay progresses, the time period will also change, adapting through the centuries. And as your vampire ages, they will also grow stronger and you can choose 2 stats to improve per century.

Vampires in this roleplay will follow quite basic rules, they will turn to ash if exposed to sunlight for more than a couple seconds, they can only be killed by total removal of the head or heart, a weapon through the heart, or complete destruction of the heart or head. A vampire will look like a normal human when not feeding or feeling intense emotions, but their irises will turn red and fangs will grow. Vampires usually have the same abilities, their strength varying from how close they are to the first vampire, so a mortal turned by a vampire that was turned by the first vampire would be far stronger than a vampire turned by another vampire 8 generations from the first vampire.
It also depends on how long it was since the vampire last fed on human blood. But, the traits all vampires have are, immortality, enhanced sight, sense of smell, and hearing, super speed and strength, and enhanced regeneration.
Other powers are possible including telepathy, telekinesis, mind reading, hypnosis, invisibility, pyromancy, and more, although those are extremely rare. They cannot turn into a bat or grow wings.

(Ew, short.)

The woman snarled, her eyes blazing with an animalistic fury once more. None of the former beauty was there, just a wild animal. "I'll be back for you." Her voice a mocking and sinister tone. And then just like that she rushed off, her vampiric speed making it all a blur.

Walter turned around and gave you an extremely concerned look, seeing the disgust and unease on your face. "Are you okay? Did she bite you?" He said softly, his eyes held a surprisingly deep concern.

Good riddance. Lothar thought with another shiver, grimacing as she then scurried off like the creature she was. The curly-haired man dusted himself off, huffing softly as he struggled to compose himself once more. "Bloody hell—" He swore, furrowing his brows as his discomfort then turned to what appeared to be offense. "What kind of wicked banshee is she?" He growled, his deep brown eyes tinged slightly with vermilion as he glared in the direction she fled off to. "No, no, I'm alright— Don't fret about me. She didn't bite me. Wretched blood-sucking fly.." Lothar growled once more, fixing the collar of his suit once more. "Tch— Now she's got me in a sour mood! I'm against hitting women, but after this I just might make her an exception." Lothar grumbled, the fledgling fuming a bit, though immense unease was still wafting off of him like some sort of fear-scent.

"I 'ought be thankful I didn't contract some disease with her feeling me up, too— No class, I tell you, just absolutely none." Lothar added bitterly, his faint accent thickening a bit. I'll be sure to inform Estrid about that disgusting succubus. Maybe if I'm lucky, she'll turn her into a handsome throw rug. Lothar thought, making it a small mental note.

Walter gave a soft sigh, but you could see his anger bubbling up too. "Estrid once told me of vampires who.. Feed off of other vampires. It gives you nausea and severe headaches but apparently it gives a much stronger high than feeding off of humans. It's disgusting." He said with a low tone, his eyes flickering slightly.

As if on cue, Estrid returned, her eyes now calmer, Just holding that usual cold boredom. Upon seeing Walter's worried face, her own features hardened further. "What happened?" The elder vampire growled, you could tell her concern was currently for Walter, who looked nearly as disgusted and unsettled as you did.

Lothar grimaced in repulsion at the mere concept of such a thing— he knew vampires were barbaric, yes, but this? This was downright disgusting. Feeding on humans and animals were staples of a vampire's proper diet, not each other. Theoretically, it was practically cannibalism. Now, if she fed on things like werewolves Lothar would be much more understanding, but the sheer idea of it was wrong beyond imagination. Blinking in surprise, Lothar held back from putting on the most happiest little smile he ever could smile in his entire life.

"Estrid! Bless the stars you're back!" Lothar breathed in relief, relieved beyond repair that she had appeared once more. "We were trying to get affiliated with our new company, and just so conveniently Miss Valora Earlse," Lothar continued, making sure to put a clear emphasis on the blonde woman's name, "Decided to become some.. some.. some deranged beast and attempted to bite me and drink my blood! Not to mention she was making some.. undesirable glances at me and Walter. I can certainly vouch when I say that it got quite bad when even I was made uncomfortable by her." Lothar concluded, seeming to be satisfied with his little report. Aside from flirting and agility, Lothar was also quite proficient in the art of tattling.

"She'll supposedly be back, as well. Mainly for me, though— on account I'm a new face, I suppose."

Estrid seemed genuinely disgusted for a second before making it again. "Even more reason to get you.. Somewhat trained up." She said said coldly, you could see her distaste at this whole situation almost radiating off of her. 800 years old and having to spend time training some whelp, you could almost read what was on her mind.

"Walter, head down the road and off to the left is an Inn. Head there immediately, clearly there's more danger here than just the mutts." The fiery haired woman commanded. Walter nodded in response, and began walking off, still clearly discomforted. "Right, we might as well get this over with. Try attacking me with that little dagger of yours." She didn't get into a defensive position or anything, just stood there, watching your every move.

Even though he lacked the capability to read minds— and even if he somehow did, he doubted he'd be able to read someone like Estrid's— Lothar knew all too well that she was more than unenthusiastic about having to play coach for him. After giving a sharp order to Walter, their training thus began.

Lothar blinked in surprise, a bit spooked by Estrid calling for it to begin so soon and so sudden. So soon, as well? Ah well— It seemed better to begin now, he supposed. Standing upright properly, he squinted a bit, cocking his head to the side like a hare checking to see how far it'd have to leap. His game plan was simple enough— get behind her, descend on all fours and go for the knees and ankles. He didn't want to be too obvious, though, so he stood idly for a while before moving suddenly, his speed kicking in. Although he doubted he'd catch her off guard too much, he figured that he'd provide some unique surprise. Moving as if he were lunging at her, he suddenly descended onto all fours, whipped around and pulled out his stiletto, quietly debating if she'd strangle him to death if he did or did not draw blood. She was expecting so much out of him— blood had to be drawn if he wanted to get any kind of praise from her. Aiming right for her left heel, he prayed to the stars above it'd land properly where he wanted. Coordination wasn't a problem for him, it was just that blasted execution that always messed him up.

You could see Estrid smirk for a second, then suddenly she whipped around, and her left foot lashed out smashing straight into your lower jaw, the pain radiated in a hot burn, but soon started to subside. "That could've been worse, if you were fighting a mortal they would be writhing on the floor unable to move that foot. But you let your guard down. Try something I won't predict this time." She said coldly, seemingly not worried whether she injured you or not. This time, her muscles were tense as she distanced herself from you again. "Remember, if you want to kill quickly, aim for the heart, the throat, the eye, or if you need to disable an attacker, the back of the knee, the achilles tendon, or the spine." The ancient Vampire's eyes glared into you sharply, seemingly looking for any hint of muscle movement.

Getting clocked clean in the jaw, Lothar hissed in pain as he was tossed a bit to the side, quickly getting onto his feet as he shook his head, panting a small bit from the sheer force of her counterattack. Thankfully, the pain quickly subsided as his vampiric healing abilities kicked in, the bruise on his pale skin soon vanishing rather quickly as he listened to her advice. Although she was harsh, she was indeed right. He had to keep ready from now on— thinking on it now, he always struggled to not get lax whenever the enemy had received one of his good hits, and that alone was a miracle. Muscles tensing a bit, Lothar constricted his pupils a bit, nodding as he quickly began to think on what to do. His eyes darted around a bit, making it rather confusing to pin-point just exactly what he was looking at— they moved from the ground to the few nearby trees to the ground again, the sky, and back to the trees. Figuring that not directly giving away what he was trying to do, it'd give him a minor advantage by confusing Estrid— if possible. Confusion was just as great of a weapon as a blade itself. Finally coming up with an idea, he properly got onto all fours once again— looking more animal than man— as he then almost randomly zipped off to the left, making a lunge at Estrid before falling back and letting out a small hiss. He didn't attack her directly, but he had a small theory in mind—

If he managed to annoy her enough into attacking him directly with enough false ambushes and retreats, he could give her the idea he was being cowardly, and if she lunged back at him, he could land a good hit on her face. However, if she didn't take the bait, he'd just end up looking stupid. It was a good idea, but his horrible luck with execution threatened to ruin his ambitious plan.

The elder vampire watched you with hawk-like accuracy, her eyes easily following your every move.
Estrid jumped back, dodging your feigned attack. "Don't hold back, if you manage to injure me then you've succeeded. I'll heal easily." She spoke in a bored tone, no hint of irritation in her voice. "Try again." She hissed.

Lothar nodded, acknowledging her advice. Well, it was clue he wouldn't be able to dupe her that easily. Maybe he needed a much more hostile approach? It'd be a big risk, seeing as how his form was so sloppy before, he knew he'd need a quick beating before being given a silver platter of worthy advice. Putting all his weight onto his legs, he subconsciously got into some kind of animalistic hunting crouch, a soft growl coming from him as he then launched himself at Estrid with a loud yowl, his sharp nails once again breaking the fabric of his gloves as he swept them directly at her face. Now it all boiled down to if it landed properly or not— if he jumped the proper distance and aimed right, it'd land where he wanted it. If he once again had pitiful aim, he'd either barrel right into her and topple both of them over, or he'd fly clean over her and tumble flat on his rear-end and probably get laughed at. Well, then again— maybe a fluke would give him some advantage?

He prayed he wouldn't regret this much more aggressive approach to this..

You manage to aim it correctly, but Estrid could see you pouncing forward, and using your own momentum against you, she smacked you away to the side like a fly, with surprisingly restrained power, although it was still enough to send you tumbling miserably to the floor. She tutted in disapproval, her eyes glaring into your form. "Again, you opened yourself up to counterattack. You should only make risky moves like that against enemies that are unaware. Fast and sharp attacks are our kind's speciality, blending into the shadows and striking when our prey is unaware." She let you get up before getting into position again.

"Try and defend yourself against me. I'll try not to.. Break you. But so you can understand what an attack should be."

estrid: i like ya cut g. *flicks lothar into oblivion*
p.s: lothar's defense stat(im assuming we're using def for this one) is a good ol' 7 //

「 Lothar Penn ⋄ 」

Despite being flicked away like a small insect, Lothar managed to land himself rather neatly— that is, after recovering from getting tossed to the side as if he weighed below zero. Managing to his feet with a pant, he nodded once more, taking a second to shake his head and recover from the counter. Now knowing that, he had to be more crisp with his movements, whilst also not being obvious with what he was doing. He knew fighting another vampire would be difficult, so he supposed he should've seen it coming. Rearing up properly, he shook his head a second time, claws still out as he braced himself for whatever nightmare Estrid had in order. His now tense posture was more-so due to the fact he was about to have his absolute rear-end handed to him by an 800 year old menace who probably had slain many vampires his size and his age— it was hard for him to not be spooked at the moment.

Estrid's debatable 'promise' on not "breaking" him didn't help too much either, but the look of quiet yet certain determination in the fledgling's eyes masked his inner terror as he got into a proper stance to take whatever it was she'd throw at him.

Estrid unsheathed one of her daggers and lightfootedly prowled around you, seemingly sizing up the weak points in his defence, her eyes settling on your ankles. With breakneck speed she rushed forward, aiming low for your ankles. Then suddenly changed her movements and whipped around behind you. Before you could even move, her dagger was pressed firmly against your throat in perfect angle to slit. Your defense failed you, unable to escape the grip or counterattack. She let go and brushed herself down, walking back to your front. "You need to learn how to end a battle before it's truly begun. A slice here, here, or here." She pointed to your throat, knee, and ankle respectively.

Lothar watched her as intently as possible, wanting to be ready to counter any move she made— which he would have done! .. If he had predicted any of her frankly unforeseeable moves. Lothar's eyes widened in alarm, the fledgling making a small squeaking sound in surprise as she grabbed him in a tight hold, gritting his teeth as he felt the cool touch of a sharp, metal blade dancing wickedly on his sensitive throat. Everyone just seems to be after it today, hm? Lothar thought humorlessly, letting out a small exhale of relief when she released him, rubbing his throat as if he had been struck there.

Nodding in response, Lothar couldn't help but finally speak— "Are there any good pointers on how to do that? I must admit I.." He fumbled a bit on his words, "I'm still rather predictable as it seems. My movements are too obvious— not to mention my strength tends to fail me at times— even if its supposedly as strong as a human's." Lothar murmured. Although his voice was soft and tame, genuine curiosity was easily heard within it— he had the heart and want to become stronger, but a small part of him doubted Estrid would take someone like him seriously.

"It's all down to practice. I don't expect you to be able to be a flawless fighter, but even a fledgling is easily double as strong as they were while mortal, fighting as a vampire is different from fighting as a human, you really need to focus your power into your muscles and learn to release that power when you need it." She walked up to one of the cobbled walls, cracking her knuckles. "Try aiming a punch at this wall, it will hurt but you're decently fed, it'll heal."

She effortlessly hit the wall, her fist crashing straight through the rock, leaving a gaping hole. Her knuckles were ripped to shreds, and bones clearly broken, yet she seemed completely unphased by it, her bone and skin soon knitted back together, not even leaving a mark. "I don't expect you to punch a hole straight through stone, but you should atleast be able to chip it."
