Slug'briar opened his hazel eyes slowly, the sunhigh sun peeking through the trees surrounding the shadowed camp and falling onto his resting spot. His dark, sleek pelt rippled as he sat up, yawning and stretching out his muscles after a good nap. He began to groom his fur, wondering if he should join a patrol at some point.

Mink’Tail

Rose’Cloud ducked under her tailtip, and bounded along, followed Mink’Tail.

”Yes, I suppose we should. Frog’Star might not like it if we spend too much time sitting around chatting. But I feel like I could talk for hours sometimes” She grinned, the happiness surrounding Mink’Tail slowly started filling up inside her as well. She could hardly stand still, and bounced on her paws as she followed her friend, kind of like a little apprentice going out for a hunt with their beloved mentor. She didn’t feel the slightest bit ashamed though, and was very comfortable in Mink’Tail’s presence.

MinkTail chuckled at the fast movement that prevented Rosecloud from receiving a quick smack. Her voice was light and without worries when she answered back.

"That old cat needs to keep up his work... I haven't seen him a lot recently. Perhaps I'm blind though." She joked the last sentence out and happily trotted along with the other she. If only they could always chat like this, maybe that was what being an elder was for. She would have to wait for that a couple more leaf changes.

Mink’Tail

Rose’Cloud laughed with her,

”Careful there, Mink’Tail. You’ll never know when he might suddenly leap out of a tree and catch you saying something like that.” She giggled. ”Maybe we ought to drag him along sometime.” It felt wonderful on this little trip with Mink’Tail. Rose’Cloud wondered why she hadn’t thought of going on a nice walk like this before. As long as they patrolled a border or at least brought back some prey, Frog’Star shouldn’t mind. It was a lot better than sitting in camp constantly anyway.

Minktail let out a wholehearted laugh, it had been some time since another car made her laugh this hard. Rosecloud really was good company and good advice too! With a 'as if I care' look she focused her eyes on the silky red she again.

"With that thick fur he wouldn't dare come outside when the sun shines down like this. Imagine how hot it gets! But I guess I should be greatfull that he keeps up with my 'attitude' or shall I say charm?"

With flirty eyes she gave Rosecloud a little staredown. Oh how fun it was to use her eyes to make things more interesting

Mink’Tail

She laughed alongside Mink’Tail. The happiness bubbles inside of her, and she didn’t think there was any way she could not be happy at this moment. When she caught Mink’Tail’s eyes, she stared right back, her ears perked up.

”Oh of course. Your charm is one of a kind, Mink’Tail. The camp would be so bland without it. I can see how so many cats fall for it, especially Slug’Briar. He might need to watch out for other competitors, Hm?” She responded playfully. She broke the stare down with a quick paw aimed for Mink’Tail’s ear and she bounded off ahead, still laughing. ”Come on, we’ve got to get some hunting done before all the pray gets scared off!” She glanced back, her joy clear on her face.

Amused the she cat gave a smirk. It was lovely to just play around from time to time, that's what she missed from her apprenticehood the most. At RoseCliud's smack with her paw she fell to the side and acted hurt.

"You're right. Without my charm and YOUR beauty the camp would be much more bland. Slugbriar needs to get in line or otherwise I'll snach you instead. "

She gave a wink towards Rosecloud before getting up and running towards her. The other was right, they also had to do their duties beside playing around!

Mink'Tail

She giggled lightly, walking next to Mink'Tail. She didn't think much of Mink'Tail's comment, and was just happy to spend time with her. She scented the air, hoping all their noise hadn't scared them all off. Any prey that was hanging around two laughing cats wasn't going to last long. She was mostly distracted though, thinking more about the other cats at camp, and Mink'Tail, that she didn't notice very many critters nearby.

As she had slowed down besides Rosecloud she began scenting for any pray. Perhaps a squirrel or some type of tiny creature. The first scent that caught her nose was a raven, typical for their territory. She gave a flick of her eye to signal Rosecloud to be silent. As soon as she had the direction and knew where her prey was located she dropped to lower herself to the ground. The wind blew towards her and hid her scent, it was a good precaution. The raven tapped around on the dark forest ground a bit infront of her and she elegantly brought an end to the noise. With the bird hanging between her teeth she strutted back to Rosecloud.

"That, was one."

She spoked out with slight difficulties because of the fresh kill

Mink’Tail

Her ears pricked up as she watched Mink’Tail go for her hunt. She watched closely, smiling as she admired the skill with which Mink’Tail completed the hunt. She grinned at the other she-cat as she returned with the catch and nodded.

“Nice catch! I suppose now I’ve got to pick up the slack.” She turned her attention to the forest around them, pacing a few steps forward as she inhaled deeply.

The scents seemed to evade her for a moment, but her ears caught the sound of a squirrel scratching its way down a tree. Then she caught the scent and set off, positioning herself downwind. She spotted the squirrel making its way down a tree, currently unaware of the two cats lurking nearby. She glanced back at Mink’Tail, then shifter her positioning ever so slightly in hope that if she missed, Mink’Tail could swoop in for the kill. But Rose’Cloud wasn’t going to miss. She was determined to catch this prey.

She watched as the squirrel dropped to the forest floor. It paused, looking around, then went snuffling through the grass, bouncing along, minding its own business as it searched for some hidden treats. Then Rose’Cloud flashed out from the shadows where she hid, her claws reached out to hook onto the tail of the critter. She pulled it close before it could even react and with a snap it was dead. She returned back, tail held high, eyes sparking with pride that she had managed to catch the sneaky squirrel.
