Tumbleweed followed Ahmen and Mistletoe, flopping down without much ceremony. She felt a sudden, odd twinge of jealousy as she noticed how close Mistletoe was lying to Ahmen. Her claws unsheathed slightly ad she shifted back against the tree roots. It would've been nice to curl up against the large male, purely for warmth, of course. It took a bit before she could go to sleep, thoughts still racing through her head too quickly to calm all the way down.

But, eventually, she began to drift off, tucking her muzzle under a paw to keep it from getting cold. She only sometimes dreamed when she slept, and this was one of those times. A simple dream, happily catching prey in her homeland mesa, with Ahmen by her side as they tried to bring down an aggressive Bontebok.

Lunar found it hard to sleep, his mind had too many thoughts to organise. Ahmen, Mistletoe, Tumbleweed, Obsidian... All of them together... Curled up beside each other.
A soft purr escaped his throat as the sight before him reminded him of his old pride... And older brother. He wandered what his brother was doing right now.
Lunar decided to stay awake until morning, as he really needed to get his thoughts organised.

Obsidian followed them all to where Ahmen had chosen to lay down. The little spot was really nice. She laid down near the pale-ish golden lioness, having still not learned her name yet. She curled her body up and set her head on her paws. She was about to close her eyes when she noticed that the other male seemed as if he wasn’t going to sleep. She wanted to say something to him but decided not to. She didn’t know him so she didn’t know what she would even say. She just stared at him through her half closed eyes. ‘I’ll keep him company until he does sleep.’ She thought.

She tried to do that, but after awhile she couldn’t resist her exhaustion and so she tucked her muzzle closer to her warm fur.

Mistletoe woke not long after she had fallen asleep. She has been having nightmares since she was kicked out. They aren't too bad and rarely happen, though tonight was one of those nights. Expecting to be the only lion awake, she was shocked to find Lunar still awake. She slowly stood up, stretching out as she carefully navigated through the 3 sleeping lionesses, sitting next to the male.

"Can't sleep?" She asked quietly, not wanting to wake the others. She laid down, tucking her paws under her belly to keep them warm. The cold night air nipped at her nose as she stared at the starry sky. She always loved looking at the sky. Her mother used to tell her that pieces of the sky fell, landing on her back when she was a cub, which is why her coat looked the way it did. As Mistletoe got older, realizing it wasn't true, she took a liking to stay up, watching the star and wishing for her life to turn around when she saw a shooting star.

His friends were all asleep but Mistletoe was moving around allot. Hopefully she wasn't having a nightmare! He slowly and quietly walked over to her, careful not to make a sound. Lunar looked up at the beautiful night sky, gleaming with stars. Oh! A shooting star! He turned to Mistletoe, who was sitting beside him.

"You have to wish for something now!"

Mistletoe smiled, wishing on the star she sighed. "It's been so long since I've been around other lions. Normally I just walk, hunt, sleep then repeat." She lowered her gaze from the sky to the scenery in front of her. She shifted her body, moving her paws out in front of her. She smiled and took a deep breath in as a cold night breeze rustled her coat.

"I always enjoyed the cold. My coat has always been thick enough that it never bothers me." As she exhaled, her body relaxed. She was tired but she knew she wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight. Her ears twitched, and her tail flicked around, it was nice to be around others for once.

Tumbleweed shifted in her sleep, dreams falling away as she began to sleep more deeply, flanks rising and falling in steady rhythm, undisturbed by the two lions still awake near the entrance of their little den. Even tucked away between the tree roots, a stray breeze managed to ruffle the fur of Tumble's companions, causing some to shift in their sleep.

Thin shafts of moonlight crept in, illuminating small patches of fur, turned silver by the pale light. Apart from the still awake Lunar and Mistletoe, they all slept peacefully, undisturbed by the winds outside.

//sorry I haven't posted in a bit, we actually got some snow up where I live and it threw some plans off, but I got to go sledding a bit so it turned out pretty fun

The night passed peacefully and soon the soft strands of sun dazzled through the trees and shining across the sleeping lions. Lunar yawned and stretched his claws against an old tree trunk - which then fell to pieces. Surprised Lunar looked up and then quickly from side to side.

Blushing, he mumbled:
"It must have been rotten, I hope the others didn't see that..."

Obsidian’s head snapped up at the sound of the old tree trunk crumbling into tiny little pieces. She quickly relaxed when she realized that it was just Lunar. She got to her paws and stretched, letting loose a small yawn before smiling at him. “The poor tree trunk,” She teased. “What’d it ever do to you?” She smiled teasingly for a moment before looking out towards the rising sun. “So, what’s the plan for the day?”

Tumbleweed stretched, claws unsheathing slightly to grip the soil she had been laying on. It was shaping up to be a beautiful morning, Tumble could tell. Lunar and Obsidian, the strange lioness from last night, were talking in the clearing, voices somewhat quiet. Had Tumbleweed ever introduced herself to the other lioness? She would have to do that soon, but she didn't want to intrude. Tumbleweed's gaze flicked down to the still sleeping Ahmen, now dozing in the thin shafts of sunlight that had gotten through the roots surrounding them.

A soft growl from her stomach distracted her, and she slipped quietly out, not wanting to wake Ahmen quite yet. Padding out into the sunshine, she found a nice, warm rock to lay down on, stretching once more as she soaked up the morning sunlight. They would have to hunt at some point, but she would enjoy the sunlight for now.

"I hoped you wouldn't ask that. Well... Lets see... Maybe wait until everyone is awake and then go hunting for breakfast?"

Lunar smiled and, with his head still turned towards Obsidian, started walking back towards where the others were still sleeping. He looked around for Mistletoe, wondering whether she had already left or ended up falling asleep again after last night.

Mistletoe trotted towards the group, stopping beside Lunar. "There is a small herd of Gazelle over in that field." She flicked her tail off to the left. "When everyone wakes up and is ready, we can go after them." She shook her head slightly, removing some of the bugs. She gave Lunar a warm smile as she sat down.

Obsidian nodded. Food definitely sounded good as she belly slightly rumbled. She returned the smile and followed him as he began walking back towards the others. Her ears swiveled when she heard Mistletoe approaching and turned to greet the other lioness. She nodded as Mistletoe spoke of a nearby Gazelle herd. “That’s great!” She smiled at the lioness before spotting the pale-golden lioness sunbathing on a rock. Obsidian, hesitantly padded over to her. “Good Morning,” Obsidian smiled at the pale-golden lioness.

"Good morning. I'm not sure I've introduced myself." Tumble jumped down from the rock she had been lounging on. "I'm Tumbleweed." She smiled, ears perked. From what Mistletoe had said, a nearby herd of gazelles would make an excellent target. "You're Obsidian, right?" She looked over Obsidian, noting the slight hesitation in her approach. Tumbleweed had been pretty aggressive last night.

Lunar smiled back, then turned his head towards where Ahmen was still fast asleep. Lunar softly patted his head with his paw.

"Hey, Ahmen. Time to wake up!"
