I understand this might be a bit of a controversial subject but what are your opinions on breeding your lions to their relatives? I know it happens in real life and it can cause flaws in the resulting offspring. But does it matter so much in a game? Would you do it to get pretty/ nice stat cubs no matter the messiness of the lineage? Or do you just find it abhorrent, no matter the fact the lions are just a bunch of pixels? As for me, I wouldn't unless by accident (e.g studding to a lion that is related to one of my lionesses). I try to avoid it between my 2 accounts by having little symbols next to my lions' names. I'd much prefer a clean family tree. :3 0 players like this post! Like? |

I do so to, sure they aren't real but I just don't like to it feels wrong in a way. Though I sound like a hypocrite right now because I plan to start inbreeding, but for the one reason I only want my five girls and a boy forever and ever without getting into the buying business again because I'm retired from it. 0 players like this post! I know it means nothing in the game, but I still refuse to inbreed my lions too. What I do is keep a detailed family tree, that includes siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, and half siblings/cousins, as well as parents, grandparents etc. The mother to my pride's heir is in my pride, and I so happened to end up with the daughter of her half sister, so when my sub male takes over, any females related to him, besides his mother, will go to my other pride. I'm like you, I prefer to keep a clean family tree. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I know what you mean when you say it feels wrong. It's odd in a way, since this is just a game and the lionesses aren't real. But I guess we still get attached to them and worry about what the incest-born cubs would be like. Even though I don't think there's any ramifications from inbreeding... apart from the controversy of course! 1 player likes this post! Like? Edited on 10/08/13 by Lion Keeper (#7377) |

I do not support inbreeding, I want nice pure lions not lions with birth defects even if it is just pixels and they cant have birth defects...still 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 10/08/13 by Scarlit (#17841) |

I just get a new male to be the leader and a few new females so then there's no muss or fuss. Only reason I do it is for story consistency. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I inbreed it up. It doesn't matter to me :0 It doesn't cause any defects or does anything in any way to the cubs so it's fiiiine. Plus, I find it a little funny. I just image Maverick sweet talking his daughter >o> It wouldn't be funny in real life, yeah, but here I don't see the problem. Incest is best. 2 players like this post! Like? |

I will be doing it, I do it with my mice in real life usually mother/son father/daughter, I've never had anything happen. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 11/08/13 by Symphath (#4356) |

I don't really inbreed because I don't see a reason to. I usually breed with other studs or my customized lion. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yep I don't care about inbreeding on this game at all. Some others I do, but not here. It's very realistic. In fact, I encourage my pride to be inbred - I don't want an outside male to be sub, for example. It just doesn't make sense in the real world of lions. But that's just me, and I don't really support the whole stud system either for the sake of realism ^.^ 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 11/08/13 by Zammy (#6906) |

I personally don't, but I don't care either way. It's not like I check genetics before buying anyway. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I honestly don't really care 'cause that's what happens in the wild naturally + this is just pixels. Honestly I have done it before but I always end up chasing the inbred cubs away anyways because I don't like 'em. Also most of the older lions from the beginning of the whipeout are gone 'cept three and the second generation are gone as well. Since I'll be having a male ruling soon from one of the oldest lionesses, there won't be any inbreeding 'cept when he might breed with his sister but I can always just breed her to my side account male when I make him soon. 0 players like this post! Yeah I dont like the thought of inbreeding, it probably happens in real life, father to daughter i would imagine... but prides get taken over by other males who defeat the older males and then kill the cubs 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's kind of funn, I'm on the fence. On the one hand as far as for storyline sake, I think it's weird to in-breed. A big part of this game is the RPG element and it's kind of hard to humanize lions to the point of Role-playing and yet have tons of inbreeding going on. At the same time, as far as realism goes, it is WAY more realistic to have your head male selfishly allow only his own cubs and no others to be in the pride--especially sub males, like someone else said. So...I don't know. It weirds me out a bit on a personal level, but as far as realism and the game goes it kind of makes sense. Why else would we spend all this time getting a great main male/great lionesses if we didn't plan on eventually breeding them to make great babies? 0 players like this post! Like? |
