I understand this might be a bit of a controversial subject but what are your opinions on breeding your lions to their relatives? I know it happens in real life and it can cause flaws in the resulting offspring. But does it matter so much in a game? Would you do it to get pretty/ nice stat cubs no matter the messiness of the lineage? Or do you just find it abhorrent, no matter the fact the lions are just a bunch of pixels?

As for me, I wouldn't unless by accident (e.g studding to a lion that is related to one of my lionesses). I try to avoid it between my 2 accounts by having little symbols next to my lions' names. I'd much prefer a clean family tree. :3

I dont inbreed ethier. I send my King's daughters to studs, and sometimes thier mothers or aunts too so my heir will have some other lionesses to breed with that arent his sisters.

I don't inbreed. I don't stud out either, because I don't want inbred lions in my heritages and with how heritages work right now, you can not know for sure a lion isn't inbred. My current king is 2nd gen, but looking at his heritage he looks inbred because he shows himself as a father for some reason

Also you run the risk that the player you stud to switches their king out, for looks or stats, and their new king's heritage is now your cub's heritage instead of its original parents. I've had one certified 2nd gen become an inbred mess that way =(

^.^ So I just keep a stock of NCLs and custom girls, and breed until I have a heir. Then I retire the mother, and when the heir is king he is bred to the NCLs/Customs he's not related to

I do it with my lions both for gaining common traits and both because it's not unrealistic.
And that's also why i never picked up a "queen" character.
Plus i feels it's a pity that sub-males can't breed v.v

Incest is best when sister says yes XD XD XD XD I'm sorry I'm done. But my heir's father is his grandfather.

Don't care too much about incest in my pride.
My king can sweet talk his granddaughters all he wants for all I care.

I do keep a few other studs on hand if I want to add a little variety to my pride.

My previous king was roleplayed to where his custom mate was his sister. I don't see a problem, actually, with it.

In our lore, it was to keep the bloodline pure, like the Egyptians did.

I wouldn't care if I did by accident, but I won't be doing it on purpose.

I don't breed seriously at this point, and I find it more interesting to get new bloodlines, so it could change if I decide I really want to specialize.

When it comes to half-siblings then I'm okay with breeding them because at least there's some distance in relation even if it's only a different mother/father. With full siblings and parent/child then I'm firmly against breeding them and will try my best not to breed them

Eh, inbreeding isn't as bad as people think it is, even when genetics are actually involved. It can actually prove to be quite useful and strengthen good genes and it takes a lot of inbreeding to even begin to start raising the chances of health problems, so yeah...I'll inbreed the heck out of my lions once I get there. I've no problem with it at all. I'm just glad there's no actual genetics, let alone ones like sim games have sometimes where it's like one single instance of inbreeding produces nothing but death and deformity. Blah.

I've bred daughters to their fathers and not had a problem with it :) I mostly just do it for stats, looks and the off chance that they become so inbred I get a mutation :)

Eh. I did a little digging through all the lionesses in my pride (not including claimed NCLs) and all of them share common ancestors. My king is related to everyone and I mass breed them anyway. In current news, he just got his aunts pregnant.

It was very interesting to read these, at first when I looked this up I was curious to see if there would be any in game effects from inbreeding but now I too am very interested in the controversy and debate of the subject.

If I may share my opinion I believe that parents and their cubs should not be bred and sibling breeding would not be very acceptable in my book, It would be more likely that I would breed half sibling than full siblings, but I do believe that distant relatives being bred is not as bad as the others.

Then again it is just a game and the lions are not actually effected by inbreeding but it is hard not to get attached to and care for these little pictures of lions.
