Since I started college last August, my friends and I would often talk about Chimeras and how they were interesting since they are basically there own twin. The mutation is still relatively new; This extremely rare and interesting genetic condition. This anomaly is thought to be caused by the absorption, or fusing, of twins before they are born. This would cause the chimera to carry two sets of DNA in their body. One set of their DNA and one that would have been their twin’s DNA. This second set of DNA can show up anywhere in the body. A second, distinct set of DNA may be present in the skin, blood, or even reproductive organs of the chimera. You might of heard or seen pictures of a cat named Venus the two faced cat who shocked the web with her unique coloring. Now imagine are lionesses giving birth to a cub who's right side was Mongoose and other Fiery, of course they would grow up to live healthy long lives. The Chimera mutation is estimated at 98–99% sometimes showing signs of mutation other times looking completely normal with no sign of mutation. But of course this would make the chance of getting a mutation a lot easier; the chance of Chimera would be lowered to 25 percent.

I support, but since there are two sets of DNA, shouldn't they be sterile? Cause the DNA sets would craze up the reproductivity too much.

I am approving this mutation [[to a point]] however I cannot estimate time when it'd be put in, 2016 or 2020 ;'D

So, how would this affect the "parentage" of cubs of the absorbed twin? Will the title of the "mother" and "father" slots be renamed to "mont" and "duncle", respectively? Is that possible to do? (Yes, I know they sound silly, but don't blame me! Those are the terms that human chimaeras have been using for their own situations)

I feel like ... it might change how the coding for cubs work? Maybe we could have a new patches mutie that has the half black face, etc? I'm not sure how well it'd work since most lines are on one side or the other instead of 3/4ths view, etc, but...

You know, this could help solve the coding issue of how to make chimerism work, if the lioness was supposed to birth 3 cubs, for example, and at birth she only has 2, but one has chimerism, each side being the cubs she was supposed to have (the one that was born and the one that vanished). Only one set of genetics would pass on from the lion if bred, the original genetics for the cub that was born, not the absorbed.

I had a cat that looked exactly like the one in the picture; I didn't realize it was a mutation, just thought it was a cool colour xD!

My old cat was a chimera. She had a brown eye and a green eye and was a tortoiseshell cat with gold speckles. She was beautiful. <3 She passed away from eating an eraser, the poor idiot.
