UPDATES!- You guys now have new pride icons! They will display when your lions are low on mood  , high on hunger  or about to leave due to overcrowding or being upset  .- When you edit your thread or post, you are now able to preview your edits! - When you receive a message about unhappy lions, they will be listed and linked within the message:  Bug fixes: - Fixed Custom Decor & Update issues. - Fixed decors not showing up despite being equipped. - Fixed 0 use items (we hope this time for good). - Shamanic Stew and Roasted Vulture will now properly display above main male's image when active. - Hopefully fixed problem with threads and posts having content that another user typed out and posted at same time. - Hopefully fixed battling error caused by Snake Scent and hyenas, turning opponents invisible and breaking battles. - Fixed random lions not appearing on decor/BG dropdown - Fixed stud cancel message received by wrong player - Fixed teen males leaving due to no submale slots on same day that submale died and freed the said slot. New Custom Eye Colours!Yay! Sapphire deep blue and Saffron sparkle orange are now available in eye changers and customizers! Both are bi-colour options just like Cognac and Hazel.  Genetics? Cast your vote!We have been reading amazing suggestions on genetic models for Lioden. We do agree users have amazing ideas and we'd like to see what other players think about the ones we picked. We only want your opinions for now, okay? There is no guarantee we'll make any changes to genetics at all as it stands, so we're just taking opinions and ideas for now. We'd like to point out that the random outcomes for genetics are still needed, because you guys are lions, not humans that are breeding lions. You are not able to test specific genetics in a lab, and getting the always same path to get a specific result would be boring as well. We want to make it exciting still, and we believe those suggestions would be good with or without tweaking by our coders: Alma's big genetic model - complete revamp of our whole system. I personally love it so I really want to see player's opinions on there! Kamau's Deadly genetics - this afaik keeps current model of passing bases and markings, but adds more variety to it. Raksha's special breeding outcomes - same on current genetics, but adds new outcomes that can happen only via specific marking and base breeding crosses. If you feel like you always wanted to make a big genetic model, now it's your chance. We will repeat the lists with new additions in news post for 2-3 weeks and then pull it down to talk things out. I love the new eye colors! About the genetic models, after reading them I prefer Alma's one. I think it would need to be refined (at least to fill the holes and get a base for each combination), but I like that. Although I'd like an input from grandparents too (like, maybe, a small chance of cubs inherit a solid base from two countershaded parents because one grandparent was solid) but probably that would be hard to code, break for chased lionesses and confuse/frustrate people. 0 players like this post! I really like Alma's suggestion - it makes breeding make a lot more sense imo. I can also see it combined with Kamau's suggestion easily: if you breed two lions in the same "Specials" color group, there would be a chance of stillborn cubs. As far as Raksha's suggestion goes, though, I'm not a huge fan. It would certainly be interesting, but I prefer the other suggestions, and personally think markings and bases should be kept separate. @Enitan What you're saying encourages early/spam breeding and lower stats... Also would not see myself spending money on a site that's going to penalize me just for breeding lions I like. I tend to wait until mine are older and not spam breed, and I'm getting pretty f-ing tired of seeing suggestions that work against that. As people have brought up time and again, it's the people quick/spam breeding doing the most damage to the economy. The cub mortality rates already going to be implemented is going to help that some. IDK I just don't see myself playing something that no matter how hard I try I'm penalized for doing something that isn't even hurting anyone and only bringing myself joy. I like Alma's suggestion more than the other two, if you want my input. It would make breeding exciting, since you could limit your breeding style to certain groups and not just a certain base. Say, I wanted to breed "black" lions, but I didn't want only black and onyx bases. Countershading and Solid Bases would take care of that. I would start breeding like a madwomen then! >.> On another note, I adore the Sapphire eyes! I'll have to try desperately not to change Cyrus's eyes today! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I vote for Alma's. It basically implements Raksha's ideas as well, and I've always been fond of having lighter or darker versions of bases. Though I wouldn't mind cub death, I believe Alma's idea would be much easier to implement, since she lays out what would cause certain bases,, while cub death needs a lot of thought still to go in it as to what would determine death and such. 0 players like this post! Personally I like alma and raksha s models maybe introducing them both would be a good idea? Almas model confused me some but then I thought of how my guppies pass traits. (Color variants markings solid and the tail )and it made more since. Adding breeding only bases marks and eyes would help the market a lot more lions would be sold trying to attain the rare attributes, I think combining the 2 options is best 0 players like this post!
