From her vantage point she could confirm that the feline beneath her was indeed not in top condition. Signs of starvation were there from what she could tell, that... could make for some interesting conversation. Tigers, at the peak of their physical condition, were formidable beasts. And while she had known most of them to be solitary in nature, Palpetta couldn't help but entertain the list of benefits of having one's loyalty.

What a delicious idea that was...!

"Forgive the intrusion!" She trilled smoothly. Her tone was jolly, a sweet little bell ringing in the air between them. "My name is Palpetta. Who might you be?"

Luna shrank away, eyes still wide. Only after a moment did she slowly etch forward, not taking her eyes off Tomas. He was huge, no doubt about it, and she was small. Black bears, even when fully grown, were still small when compared to other bears. The tiger suddenly showed no signs of wanting to hurt her, although she wasn't too sure.

"... I... I'm fine..." She managed. "I'm... I'm Luna... Wh-What's your name...?"

As the tiger lowered himself to the ground, the cub mimicked the position, resting her head on her front paws and looking at him. She seemed more at ease since he stopped roaring.

As she ran along, a limp in her stride, she was unaware of other scents around her. Her heart pounded heavily in her chest as the sound of barking seemed to get closer. One of the dogs seemed to have returned to it's human but there were still four after her. She had to think of a way to loose these dogs and fast! If she didn't, she would be torn to shreds in a matter of minutes and that wasn't her ideal way to go.

Suddenly hearing a roar, she skidded to a halt as another cougar appeared before her. It was a male and he was going to help her. She couldn't help but let out a breath of relief. She would face the dogs too with him at her side to fight. Even with an injured leg, she'd manage to fight off one or two dogs at a time. However, three and four were just too much for her by herself. But as she was joined by the new comer, she turned on the mutts and wasted no time in slashing at the nearest one, clawing it's muzzle.

Glancing up, at one point she saw a hawk fly over and shrunk lower on the branch for a moment, hoping it wouldn't try to come at her. When it seemed to disappear, she she continued jumping from one tree to the next. However, at one point, she heard something strange up ahead. It sounded like dogs in the distant but closer was the threatening growl of a....tiger?

Very curious, Ivy moved closer and was soon in a nearby tree. Seeing something going on farther down in the next tree over, she went down a few branches until she spotted a bear cub in the tree and a hawk nearby along with a tiger at the bottom. Why would a tiger be threatening a cub? Was he a big meanie? Perhaps the cub would need her help in getting away! Yes, she would help. But how? How could she possibly do something to help? This would take some thought, though not too much or else she'd be too late. But then she saw the cub crawling down and just watched quietly for a moment, wondering what would happen.

Nodding to the female, Abraham leapt at the nearest dog, paws immediately hooking on it and bringing it down, jaws lunging forward and teeth biting the throat of the brute. Right as the dog he attacked fell limp, he attacked another, a larger one, though he knew he could take it. Roaring, he pounced, landing on its back- once more as he did with the other- and bringing it down. Yes, it was a very large dog, so it took a moment or two to bring it down. Struggling with the dog, he managed to nick it, as it did to him. Finally, he managed to slash its stomach in the struggle, killing it; though not without a few scratches on himself.

"Hey! Get away from our dogs!"

The head of the male immediately shot up, ears perked, as he heard the humans yelling at them, their forms coming in the distance. The hunters couldn't shoot from where they were, but they where getting closer. Thinking quickly, he charged at the dog that the cougaress wasn't fighting and barelled into it, forcing it to the ground. After yet another few moments- mere moments- of struggle, he managed to bite its neck, killing it. Looking behind him, he saw the humans getting closer, almost close enough to shoot. And hit. Abe looked at her when she would finish with the dog, "We have to go. Now!" he said in urgency and, once he made sure she was going to follow him, he looked back and, roaring loudly at the gaining humans, bolted forward- hoping she would follow.

Sundance continued following her path, flying low to the ground, following specks of blood from the treetops. When she heard a loud, bellowing roar, she turned and flew that way out of pure curiosity, being sure to stay in the very tops of the trees to remain unseen.

The scene she came across was not one she expected, to say the least. A brutish looking tiger was lying across from a small black bear cub. A terrified looking wolf was nearby, and a cocky peregrine falcon was taunting it. Sundance wasn't as cautious by the other predator bird's presence as she normally would be. The little thing was half her size.

Enough about this bird. She scolded herself, and brought her attention to why she'd really come: the tiger and the bear cub. The tiger had assumedly scared the cub, unmeaningly, and was attempting to look smaller and less threatening to it. It seemed to be working, too. Sundance waited patiently, curious to what easily could and probably would go wrong. Maybe she could even get in a good prank.

Watching the scene patiently and quietly, Sundance suddenly heard a small rustling of leaves. Creeping sideways to check out the noise, she saw a small monkey watching the tiger and the bear.

Sundance tried to quietly get it's attention, whispering, "Hey, monkey. I'm friendly, just wanna say hey." The monkey was a branch below her. She hoped she wouldn't startle the poor thing.

Fighting alongside the male, she was took a few scratches but dished out worse ones and sent the dog yelping back to its human. She didn't care much for killing others and focused more on injuring them enough to force them into retreat. She gave a threatening growl to the last dog which sent it racing back to the approaching humans. Uneasy with their nearness, she turned her attention to the male and agreed about the urgency to leave. As he took off, she raced after him as fast as she could but she was hindered by her leg and a few nasty scratches from the fight.

Curiously watching the interaction, she wondered if the tiger truly was friendly or if it was just a rouse and would turn out to be mean and attack when the cub least expected it. However, she was distracted when she heard a sound above her and off to the side a bit. Looking around, she soon heard a voice and spotted the bird. For a moment, she tensed, unsure if the bird would attack her or not. But it said it was friendly....
"Well hello then. Who're you?" she asked curiously, cocking her head to the side a little, curious. "I'm Ivy."

"I'm Sundance." She hopped onto Ivy's branch. Ivy was considerably smaller than she was, so Sundance did her best to make herself look smaller and less threatening to the monkey. "Truly, I mean you no harm. I am a prankster, though...." Sundance said jokingly. "Just a hawk looking to survive, and screw with the humans, promise. So, whaddya say? Friends? Allies?" Sundance said hopefully, watching Ivy for a response. She had been looking for a friend– someone that was not a bird, preferably. Too much rivalry there. Just look at the shorty speedster falcon. Peregrine falcons had enough ego for 5 birds. ((OOC: Just like trumpet players. Ha. XP ))

Trija listened to the bird and could see something in its eye, something made Trija feel as if she was valuable, as if the bird could tell she was not at her best. shaking the idea out of her head she looked back to Palpetta as she introduced herself. "I'm Trija," she said lifting her ears and becoming more happy to talk to someone than her shrinking belly. "nice to meet you," she tried to sound more cheerful, even if her belly made it harder.

Valka stared as the bird for a moment before flattening her ears in embarrassment. As he announced his friend would eat her if she didn't leave she new he was bluffing. "I out to be going" she huffed as she slightly lifted her lip to show her fangs. as she turned she swung a swift glance to Tomas to see if he had noticed her. she saw him sympathizing to a small bear cub, she relaxed a little at the sight but continued on her way. where is trija, she thought, remembering her friend, who was not the size of Tomas, yet not far off.

The cub opened her mouth before closing it again. "I... I'm alone." She responded. "Would it really be alright for me to join you?" It seemed too good to be true, really, but she knew that the two would question why a cub was alone instead of with her family, and she was prepared for it. It happened every once and a while when she would be searching for berries.

But, maybe, being with these two wouldn't be so bad. She could learn to hunt. She could avoid hunters.

Even with only human level eye sight Wren was easily able to pick out the moment when the sow spotted him. He saw the pause, the moment of stillness, and then the guarded postures of warning. He was bigger than her, as most male ursas were compared to their female counterparts, but previous experience taught him they were just as powerful with their blows. A respectful distance would be maintained for the time being, however short it may be.

He could smell the meager snack she had caught. Small and bony as they might be, any fish would make do for him: he needed to bulk up now or risk a fatal winter, or immediate starvation. The temptation was great to charge in and chase her off from the fish but in the end logic won. It'd likely cost him more energy to fight her than it would to just seek out his own fish. Perhaps she'd entertain an inquiry. A heavy chuff left Wren as he hauled himself onto his hind legs and got a better look at the sow. Hmmmm....

"That fish... is the river plentiful?"

Luna perked up at that statement, standing and climbing onto Tomas' back. Frankly, her claws weren't exactly retractable, so if she hurt Tomas at all, she didn't mean to. It's the thought that counts, right? After a moment, the bear cub was happily perched on the back of the tiger, looking around wide-eyed from this new point of view, with no branches in her way.

She was aware that the falcon wasn't too pleased about this change of arrangement, and she tried not to feel bad. I was offered a ride, not like I'm going to turn it down or anything. She thought, shifting so she wouldn't fall off once Tomas started walking.
