Plot:
Hunters have been moving in on the land, killing all animals. Construction workers are right behind them, destroying everything else in their wake as they work to expand their city. Now the animals of the forest must escape or pay for their lives for staying behind.
However, they'll never survive alone. Prey is scarce since the humans cause so much noise and their water is becoming polluted to the point the fish are dying and it stinks too badly to even attempt drinking. This will cause different species to either group together and travel as one of the most unusual packs ever, or face their death by going at it alone. Which will you choose?

Rules:
- be polite OOC to eachother
- be semi lit - literate
- must respond often. If you don't respond within 4 - 7 days, I'll give you a warning. If it happens a second time, you will be out. If you are going to be gone for a while, let me know.
- stick with lioden rules. If you want to go into more detail with certain things (i.e. breeding, gory fights, ext.) go to pm's
- No godmodding
- you can play up two or three characters each but must be able to keep up with that amount. Also, your own characters cannot be in love with each other
- try to stick to more realistic colors for your animal
- different species can fall in love with each other and produce half breed pups/kits/cubs whatever you wanna call 'em
Replies must be at least a paragraph.

Wait for two other people to reply before you do to avoid 1x1 happening.

Storm - tigress - Mentions: no one but smells others

Another day had come and gone. With a heavy sigh, Storm rose to her paws again and bent her head down to gently pick up her cub by the scruff. She was glad her daughter remained asleep since it made traveling easier. However, food was incredibly scarce and she didn't dare wander too far from her cub as the hunters might find her or some other animal would and kill her. So she settled for catching and eating mice, though they hardly came even a tiny bit close to quenching her hunger.

As she moved through the forest, her white pelt stood out amongst all the green so she kept her sense alert. But she couldn't smell much past her cub in her maw. Hearing a yawn, she knew Jade had awoken at last. "Mamma, how much longer do we have to travel?" asked Jade. "I don't know honey," replied Storm in a muffled voice. "Oh. Okay." the cub went silent for a while but of course, that didn't last long. "Mamma, I'm hungry." So am I, thought Storm as she scanned the area ahead of her. Noticing a large tree, she decided to rest in it's shade and let her cub feed on the little milk she had to offer her.
However, as she laid there, she began to pick up the scent of many other animals that had been there before her. The scents all seemed quite recent too. Her pelt prickled rather uneasily, wondering if she would be in danger stopping here.

Tomas | Male | 4 years | Amur Tiger
Mentions: Luna, Skylar

Tomas chuckled at the cub, watching as she leapt out of the den. Tomas couldn't help but wonder what would have happened to her if he hadn't found her, if someone who was less caring happened to find her. She wouldn't have stood a chance against an angry adult, that was for sure. He didn't like to think about it. He already felt a paternal bond towards her, and he hadn't even known her that long. Already, he planned on defending her with his life.
He lazily got up and followed her, tail flicking casually as he sat down near the den entrance. She went around, studying everything. She leaned her head towards the ground, and he cocked his head. What was she doing...?
Luna looked up at him, and he laughed when he saw the small ant crawling around on her muzzle. Silly cub, he thought affectionately. When she questioned him, his ears tilted back. He had expected Skylar to be back by now, but that bird was a wild card. He could be doing who knows what right now. Tomas just had to have faith that he was fine.
"He's probably out hunting," Tomas said to her, walking up to her side. "Now, tell me, how much do you know about hunting?" He wanted to know how much she knew, so he knew where to start in training. He didn't want her to miss out on anything important.

Skylar | Male | 3 years | Peregrine Falcon
Mentions: Tomas, Luna

('Tis hunting, nothing too important. XD)
=
Trinity | Female | 4 years | Red Fox
Mentions: Valka

Trinity walked along, her tail raised behind her as she strutted about. She hadn't seen much animals recently. It was strange; those hunters were chasing everything away, and Trinity didn't like it one bit. She may not be seeing anything, but she did smell something. A wolf.
So she may or may not be wandering right through a wolf's territory, who cares? She certainly didn't care. What was the wolf going to do, kill her? Trinity snorted at the idea, her mouth curling up at the corners. She was quick and sly - an animal couldn't keep up with her if she wanted to avoid them.
The scent got stronger, until she finally began to walk more cautiously. She knew the wolf was close. She wondered if it had some food she could snatch - she hadn't had a good meal all day. Her little black nose twitched as she looked about her surroundings. Her eyes locked on a den - definitely could be where the wolf lived. The wolf scent was very strong here. Trinity crouched down, watching the entrance with narrowed eyes.

Luna || Female || Black Bear || 6 months || Tomas

Luna kept the quizzical look on her face. "Hunting?" She repeated, sitting down and licking the last ant off her muzzle. It never stood a chance. She simply stared at Tomas for a few moments before speaking. "No, I don't know how to hunt."

It hadn't been long since it happened. Her mom had told her that she was going to take her out and teach her how to hunt soon. Soon hadn't been early enough, Luna figured. She instead had learned how to forage and which berries were safe to eat. She learned where to find insects, as that would keep her occupied while her mom would go out to hunt. Keep her safe. So the answer was undeniably no, in Luna's mind.

Storm - tigress - mentions: Skylar

Once Jade was done eating, Storm knew she had to get something decent to eat in order to be able to continue pushing on. With a sigh, she rose to her paws once again and glanced around for somewhere safe to put Jade for the moment. Her gaze landed on a small dip that led under a fallen tree. Picking up her cub, she carried her over and placed the white cub down in front of it. "What am I supposed to do here?" asked Jade. "Well honey, I need you to go inside and stay in there until I return," replied Storm in a gentle voice. "Where're you going?" Jade asked, confused. "I am going to go hunt for a bit. Now go inside and stay in there until I return. Promise not to leave its safety no matter what," Storm replied, determined to keep her one cub safe.

When she'd finally gotten Jade into the hole, she took off farther into the woods. However, this time she was keeping low to the ground and staying in the shadows as much as possible. After a while, she noticed a hawk type bird (Skyler), perched on a low branch of a tree. It looked like it had some sort of prey in it's talons, though she didn't much care about that part. It was distracted so this was her chance to knock it out of the tree. With a small wiggle of haunches, she launched herself into the air towards the bird. However, her aim was slightly off and while she did manage to hit the bird, she also hit the unforgiving tree branch. Hitting the ground again, she just laid there for a moment, rather dazed from the hit she just took from a tree, momentarily forgetting about the bird she'd been hunting.

Valka

Valka's ears pricked forward, there was something outside her den. She stood up slowly, hoping it was just a song-bird or a squirrel. She strained her neck to look outside, but her eyes were not yet ajusted. Valka was a little worried, she was not the strong and muscly wolf you would expect, she was more lean and swift and probably couldn't take down and thing bigger than a stag, she was more keen on out-running her predators more than she was on fighting them. Peering outside the den, her eyes slowly ajusted to see, not a bear or a cougar, but a fox. She slowly and almost silently approached it, hoping it wouldn't take her as too much of a threat.

Tomas | Male | 4 years | Amur Tiger
Mentions: Luna

Blinking, Tomas nodded, his tail flicking behind him. So she hadn't learned anything about hunting. That was fine. At least Tomas knew where to start now. He leaned his head down towards her. "Alright, I'll teach you how to hunt." He went into teacher mode. "You are a black bear, and as such, your diet aims more towards berries, roots, bugs, that sort of thing, instead of meat. Though, of course, you are still a carnivore. Bears are jack of all trades, really; they can eat a large variety of foods."
Tomas looked up at the trees above his head. The trees blocked out quite a bit of the light, bathing the area in darkness. Luna's black fur blended in with the darkness. This was a perfect chance to teach her about hunting fish. He motioned towards the body of water. "Now, the pool's big enough that fish can live in it. There are rivers that move the water in and out, which you can see over there." On the other side of the small lake, there were thin rivers and even a few small tributaries to help keep the small lake full of water. Tomas couldn't see any fish at the moment, but he knew if he looked carefully, he could find one. "I'm going to teach you how to catch a fish. If you'd like to, of course." He stood up, planning on going to one of the rivers to have a better chance of catching fish.

Skylar | Male | 3 years | Peregrine Falcon
Mentions: Storm

Skylar was sitting on the branch, inspecting the small squirrel in his talons. It had been an easy catch, just a quick swoop down and Skylar had caught it. He was contemplating on whether he should eat it or fly back to the den and give it to Luna, as a sort of apology for being so aloof earlier. He really needed to be more chivalrous.
In his distraction, he didn't notice the feline prowling towards him, her eyes locked on the bird of prey. Only when the great cat leapt did Skylar jerk his head up. His eyes widened into large saucers as the tiger's paw smacked into him, making Skylar fall off the branch. Skylar quickly flapped his wings, but he plummeted to the ground right beside the tiger.
The tiger was lying there, dazed, and Skylar took that time to reorient his scrambled brain. He stretched out his wings and flew above the tiger's head, landing on a high-up branch. Only then did he lean his head down and shriek, "Can't a person sit in a tree, enjoying their meal, without some big, dumb oaf stumbling around like a drunk human? Now I lost my squirrel - do you know how hard it is to catch even a small amount of food like that? And what exactly did you think you were doing, you stupid cat? Do I look like prey? I don't think so! I have half the mind to peck your ears off!" Skylar was absolutely frazzled; if the tiger's blow hadn't been off, then Skylar would be dead right now.

Trinity | Female | 4 years | Red Fox
Mentions: Valka

Trinity cursed under her breath as the wolf peered out from the entrance. She had been too loud, and now the wolf knew she was here. She contemplated running, but before she could decide, the wolf walked out and moved towards her. The wolf was moving slowly, as if in an attempt to soothe Trinity and keep her from being scared.
Trinity stood up straight, eyeing the wolf. The wolf was a female, and she wasn't attacking her, even if Trinity was smack-dab in middle of the wolf's territory. The fox thought this was strange, but she supposed the wolf had a reason as to why she wasn't leaping for Trinity. She wanted to know what the reason was.
"Hello," Trinity said, her ears flicking curiously. "My name's Trinity, but you can call me Trin. Now why aren't you attacking me? I would think that wolves are quite a bit territorial."

Storm - tigress - mentions: Skylar

She watched as the bird flew above her and landed on a higher branch, rather upset with herself for missing. What she didn't expect was what he said to her next. She scowled at his words as she rose to a sitting position. With half a mind to launch herself up the tree after him. However, she didn't since she didn't want to waste her energy by going after the bird now. "Ya, I'm aware how hard it is to catch prey," she snapped back at him. "And yes, you look very much like prey when I'm starving and have a cub to feed. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time I've eaten a bird." This annoying bird seemed quite mad, though she supposed she would be too if someone had tried to kill her for a meal as well. With her tail lashing in frustration and anger at his words, she began to look around, hoping to catch the scent of some other prey. She needed at least a little something, though with her luck it seemed she wouldn't be able to catch much.

Aurora | Female | 6 months | Bengal Tiger
Mentions: Trija, Palpetta, Open for interaction

Aurora shivered slightly, as she saw a tiger- a female- walk in front of the hollow log and, sniffing, she smelled two animals. The adult female tiger and a bird, some sort of bird. Creeping forward slightly, she watched- with wary eyes- as the tigress walked and the bird flew to the river. She cocked her head slightly as she saw the bird catch a fish and immediately her stomach growled. A quiet stomach growl, of course, a 'baby' one, if you will. Continuing to watch in [slight] fear, she licked her maw as the tigress ate the fish and then got another from the river. She wished she could do that, but she couldn't, unfortunately. Since their backs were turned, she figured she could escape. Then Aurora slowly walked out of the log, but, since she had been watching the two creatures and not paying attention as much as needed, she accidentally stepped on a twig.

Snap!!

The sound echoed softly. Paralyzed, she stood there, small and soft ears pinned flat against her skull. Though, once her small brain finally processed what she had just did, she bolted back into the hollowed out log. Although she made it back into the log [probably] before they turned and saw her, they had heard it, and there was no 'un-doing' what they heard. Creeping backwards to where her face was in the fallen, hollowed, tree as well, she waited with slow and scared breaths, tiny body shivering. The tiger cub was scared, yes, but could you blame her? For one, her whole entire family had just died. Also, there was an adult tiger- who had just killed a fish- and a bird- who had also just killed a fish- not too far from the log she was in. A log they could access. She was a cub, though, and thought the animals to be killing creatures, having faced others in the day.

Sundance | Female | 3 yrs | Ferruginous Hawk | Mentions: Ivy, Skylar (indirectly), Tomas (indirectly), Luna (indirectly)

"I don't see why not," Sundance shrugged, watching the cub scramble on the tiger's back. "Should we follow them?" She asked Ivy. Sundance watched the tiger and cub leave, taking note of their general direction.

Sundance looked around for the other bird, and saw another tiger stalking through the trees, eyes set on prey it was hunting. Sundance watched as the tiger swiped at the falcon, and the falcon angrily reply. Sundance, annoyed by the cocky falcon, instantly sided with the tiger, and watched the scene below her unfold. The falcon hadn't seemed to notice her and Ivy yet, surprisingly, and she was content with waiting until he did. It could cause quite a scene– which is exactly what excited her.

Theo| cougar | Male | 7 months | mentions: (indirectly) Hunter and Abraham |

Theo ran from the sound of barking dogs, his paws thudding across the ground as fast as he could manage. Suddenly he scented something that smelled like himself, Another cougar He thought through panting. He didn't have time to worry about that though, he didn't know if the dogs were chasing him, but they sounded vicious and Theo didn't want to take any chances with them. His heart pounded quickly and he could feel every little beat. He flung himself up a tree and into a small hole in the side half way up. the branch sticking out in front of the hole smelled strongly of another cougar and Theo hoped he hadn't intruded on anyone's home, though he was to terrified to care. His tail was puffed up and his fur was bristling, slowing his breath he was able to calm himself slightly. He curled up in the small hole and rested while he listened to the sounds of the dogs, and he thought he heard the voice of another cougar, but he just blew it off and assumed he was hearing things.

Skylar | Male | 3 years | Peregrine Falcon
Mentions: Storm

Skylar narrowed his eyes at the tiger. He knew what Tomas would say in a situation like this. Tomas would want to chase her out, but the second he heard of the cub, he would leave her alone. Probably would even give her a few tips of where the animals lived in an area like this. "Look," he said, squinting his eyes shut and knowing he would probably regret this, "I think I might know where some deer are. I can show you where I last saw them, if you want to try and catch one of those. It would be a good amount of food for a tiger like you and a cub." He opened his eyes and let out a quiet hissing sound, his beak opening in irritation. "Don't think I'm offering this out of the kindness of my heart. My friend would want me to do this for you, because he's such a goodie-two-shoes." He stretched out his wings impatiently. "Now, do you want me to show you the deer or not?"

Storm - tigress - mentions: Skylar

She watched the bird as she sat down, thinking that she shouldn't waste her time talking to him. She needed to get food as soon as possible so that she could return to Jade before anything could happen to her tiny cub. However, when the bird mentioned showing her where some deer could possibly be, she focused on him again. "Either way, I would appreciate it if you would show me," she said, thinking a deer would be much more filling then a bird, even though this one was almost annoying enough to eat, though that'd be too much work.

While they were busy talking, back at the tiny den where Jade was sitting in, things weren't going as well. The three week old cub was getting bored waiting for her mother. She poked her head out of the hole and spotted a moth fluttering along. Intrigued by the strange bug, she crawled out of the hole and started following the creature. Soon enough, she was distracted when she heard the sound of water and started following the sound. She was no longer paying attention to where she was going and when she got close to a stream which connected to a pond. Her white pelt stood out quite brightly amongst the green foilage and would be easily spotted if anyone looked in this direction of the pond.

Ivy - female monkey - mentions: Sundance

"Well, we could but they've already left. So we have to hurry up," she said as she started to walk through the tree, coming to the end of a branch and jumping into another tree, unaware of the other bird and tiger just below them a few trees away. "Come on! We're loosing them!" she called back at Sundance behind her.

Valka | wolf | female | mentions: Skylar, Tomas, Luna |

Valka studied the sleek fox for a second before replying, "I'm Valka, and you are right to believe that wolves to be territorial" She spoke calmly and gave Trinity a thoughtful look""we are, most of us." she looked away slightly, a little embarrassed, but her gaze soon flickered back "I am not one to attack, I wish to not waste my energy fighting when i could be hunting, my attack stance is faltered in this time." She tried to sound more intelligent than she really was as she went on "What brings you to my territory, the dead center?" She asked giving Trinity an intense stare. Valka watched the fox for a moment. She swished her tail and gave a small huff to Trin half expecting her to howl for for help, but deep down, Valka knew that the fox could most likely give her a good fight, considering how long it had been since she had a true meal.

Palpetta | Pallas's Fish Eagle | Mentions: Trija, Aurora

A soft hum left Palpetta when thanks was given before she swung around to settle on a branch and watch Trija dive into the meal, the gears in her head churning away. Given the striped feline's size, one fish couldn't have been nearly enough to satiate her; but perhaps it was enough to wet the palette. In more ways than one perhaps.

Yellow eyes watched her carefully once Trija finished and took to the waters in an effort to repay the favor. It certainly said a few things about the feline, things that Palpetta took careful mental notes on. She was about to dive down and rip off a piece of the fish when movement caught her eye... by the log. Oh?

She tipped off the branch and smoothly fell into a glide to the log. Her legs swung forward to land on the hollowed out trunk, her talons sinking slightly into the rotting wood. "Trija, I think we have a small visitor~" She cooed gently. With her wings tucked in close to her sides, she hopped to the edge of the log and peered over the edge. Another striped feline? A young one at that! Oh, this just got a lot more interesting!

"Oh no... Did we frighten you, Dear? We didn't mean to."

Chenoa | Female | 4 years | Brown Bear
Mentions: None, open for interaction

Chenoa watched with wary and hostile eyes as the boar dropped back onto all fours and began walking to the river, beginning to look for the fish. Knowing the ursa would be too focused and interested in catching a fish of his own, she took the chance to eat her own kill. So she looked down at the fish and opened her mouth, moving her eyes up to him warily right before her teeth enclosed on the fish. After making sure he was doing his own thing, she closed her mouth softly on the tender meat, jaw flexing as she chewed. Her eyes closed for a mere second- she had to admit, it was a pretty good tasting fish. Then the sow continued to eat the carcass, body remaining ready to leave- or fight- if she had too.

After the female finished eating the remains of her meal, she rose back to her full height- even though she was still not the... tallest sow one could meet. If anything, she was quite small, petite, if you will. Well, petite maybe, but one must not be mislead by her innocent looks, for she still has a lot of muscle under the soft and light brown fur of hers. Leaving the bones of the corpse, she took a step back. Chenoa was not needed here any longer. Therefore, she found it suitable to take her leave. She had gotten her own kill, and there was nothing more that she needed at the rivers edge. Considering this, the ursa turned around and began her walk in the opposite direction of the boar, head held rather high. She licked her lips, wondering where she would go from here.

Aurora | Female | 6 months | Bengal Tiger
Mentions: Trija, Palpetta, Open for interaction

Rora, rather frightened, shivered slightly as she heard the sound of a light-weight creature land on the top of the hollow, fallen log she was inside. It was the bird, she was sure of it. Well, she knew she was right, for not long after that a bird-like coo was heard. Speaking to some... 'Trija'? That was probably the tigress she saw walk by the log and fish not too long before. Aurora had not been in the world for that long- about 6 months- and she knew nothing about it; therefore she didn't know what the bird was capable of, yet she assumed the worst since all creatures- aside from her family- had treated her badly for no reason, especially the hairless one.

The small tiger cub jumped up slightly when she saw a head suddenly appear- an upside down one at that. Oh! The bird was looking upside down from the top of the log... Made sense. Pinning her small ears against her head, the trembling cub took a step back into the shadows, the middle of the log, hoping to hide herself in the darkness. Alas, it was not possible. When the bird spoke, Rora remained trembling on the ground and, not sure how to reply, she just didn't. She found herself doing that a lot.

Ooc; Sorry their so short, sort of tired PLUS I wasn't getting any inspiration, I had no idea what to say... argh - But, OH MY LORD I LOVE MY LITTLE RORA, SHE'S SO CUUUUUTE!!! <33
