"I'm sorry Rabbitsfoot-" Silentkit mewed "I was only having a bit of fun! I didn't think that anyone would actually think there was a fox in camp..." Silentkit felt guilty, she promised she wouldn't get into any more trouble today! She apologized to the apprentice in the den and went off to the nursery, purposely avoiding Rabbitsfoot's question on where she got the mouse. She didn't want to get Fallenheart into trouble! She saw Minnowclaw outside the elders den and quickly trotted towards her, escaping Rabbitsfoot's accusing glare. "Can you finish the rest of the story? The one with the dogs?" Silentkit asked. She was really looking forward to hearing the rest of the elders tale! Silentkit yawned, she had such a day! She hasn't had this much fun since the time she first got out of the nursery! She hoped she would have this much fun when she got to be an apprentice!

The elder gave Rabbitsfoot a hard stare as the warrior walked away. Seeing the small she-kit bounce over and ask her to finish her story, the elder smiled. Minnowclaw made herself comfortable before she continued. "The rest of the patrol had caught up, the ugly dogs were snarling and circling us. We were scared, but we could handle them. I stepped up before one of the dogs and hissed at it, darting side to side to distract him. Two warriors attacked while I distracted, that is how this happened to my ear. Other warriors ended up scaring two of the younger dogs off, they ran with their mangy tails between their legs. The one my group was fighting started limping off, leaving the largest one. The nasty brute grabbed one of the apprentices, my first one, and I leapt at his face. While I clawed at its eyes, my apprentice was able to get out of the dog's grip. It began running to the border and we chased it off. It was about sunhigh when we were done, us being the Dawn patrol. The medicine cat fixed my ear up and tended to the others. And that is the story, Silentkit." The grey she-cat flicked her tail to her ripped ear to show the kit. The elder yawned, tired from telling her story, she curled up a bit more. Her head lay on her paws, watching camp and the kit.

Silentkit's eyes widened as she heard the rest of the story. She looked closely at the scar on Minnowclaw's ear and gasped. She couldn't imagine the size of the dog that made that scar! " Thank you for sharing that story Minnowclaw! It's one of my favorite ones now! Do you want me to get you some fresh kill?" She offered, padding towards the exit of the elders den.

Try and be good and not get in to much trouble." She softly mentioned. The grey elder began grooming her tail, searching for any hiding ticks and fleas.

Rabbitsfoot / Outside of the Nursery / salty Warrior / Mentions: Open


A breeze gracefully caressed the branches of the nearby trees, the smell of flowers and pollen filling the air. Rabbitsfoot inhaled the nice smells and scents that the wind carried, feeling, relaxed and happier. The warrior quickly sprang to his feet and leapt out of camp, padding into the forest with a grin strewn on his face. He shook his body, still smiling and less grumpy, currently enjoying the forest. Then. Then he realized he needed to hunt because somebody couldn't keep their paws to themselves. The feline fell into a crouch sniffing the air for prey of some sort, flattening his ears to hear the small heartbeats of mice and voles. His nose twitched, smelling the scent of a far away vole who was looking for a meal. He hissed softly under his breath and started running, trying to catch the vole a quickly as possible so he wouldn't miss a thing that was worth staying for, like If the leader made a announcement for apprentices and such.. Maybe he'd finally become a mentor!

Silentkit nodded and ran to the fresh kill pile. Picking out a plump mouse, she dashed over to the elders den with her head high so as to not get dirt on the mouse. She thanked Minnowclaw again for the amazing story and left tot go find a feather she could play with. She saw Rabbitsfoot run out of the camp, Silentkit respected the grey and white tabby. He was a good warrior, if somewhat grumpy sometimes. She headed off to the nursery to see if Hailkit was ready to play!

Upon coming back from hunting and setting a few fish in the fresh kill pile and looking around for a bit. "Cinderpaw?" She spoke a bit, looking around for the young tom, her tail flicking a bit. She poked her head inside of the apprentice den, clicking her tongue. "Is Cinderpaw in here?"

Fallenheart smiled at Silentkit's antics. He loved kits, and wanted some of his own someday. He watched with a keen eye as Rabbitsfoot scolded the young kit, ready to intervine if the tom decided to get ugly with his little friend. Luckily for all involved, the situation resolved without a hitch.

The long tailed tom heard Opalpaw calling his name and trotted to find her. He found the young she-cat in a near panic. "Overslept?" He meowed woth a grin. " Do not worry, I will make sure you remember to wake up from now on. Since you decided to sleep in and thus missed a chance to do good for the clan, you will spend the afternoon doing a useless task to think about why watriors hunt and patrol everyday. Find me a smooth pink pebble and a feather at least long as my tail. But first I think Ravenstar is going to officially announce mentorsm I have talked to him about the interest I have taken in your training. Clean up and we will go see what he has to say!" He gave his spill in cheerful voice. He was not upset at her for over sleeping at all, but if he was going to be a mentor he had to act a little tough. The fact that he hoarded pretty things in his nest had nothing to do with the apprentice's punishment he told himself.

Opalpaw nodded "Yes sir, sorry" she quickly licked down her fur again in a hurry, and padded over to Fallenheart. She silently scolded herself *What a lazy cat you are!*, she sighed quietly. Opalpaw finally reached Fallenheart when she stopped in her tracks, she gave him a curious glare "Erm.. Fallenheart, are we still going to train today? Or.." her voice trailed off as the memory played in her mind - "You will spend the afternoon doing a useless task to think about why warriors hunt and patrol everyday" guess not.. - "Um, nevermind!" she tried to cover up her foolish question that she had just asked.

Seeing how sorry the apprentice was, Fallenheart felt bad. She seemed so ready to train. At her meek question he smiled. They could train while the waited for announcements... "Since we are just sitting around I guess I can teach you the first rule of battle. Attack me. Claws sheathed, no one wants a trip to Poisionfur." Fallenheart braced himself to be pounced on and let out his claws. He was ready to gently pop Opalpaw with his claws when she pounced. She would forever more remember that battle was about playing dirty.

Opalpaw smiled and nodded, *Yes training!* she thought softly to herself. Opalpaw looked at her paws, already seathed. She looked back up at Fallenheart and pretended to get side-tracked "Woah a juicy bird.." her voice trailed off as she leaped into the air towards Fallenheart, Opalpaw's mind was racing with excitement *Okay, backup plan. If he dodges we leap towards him, that should work but he'll probably see it coming, that's what mentors are for! Teaching!* Opalpaw began to fall towards Fallenheart.

Minnowclaw ate the plump mouse that Silentkit had brought her, licking her jaws afterwards. She looked around her den a moment thinking. Getting up, she made her was into the center of camp to find an apprentice, her bedding needed changed out since the last time they did it was a few days prior. She also had a feeling that some apprentices were getting mentors soon, so she wanted to be out of her den to see that. She laid down, letting the sun warm her fur.

Fallenheart grinned as Opalpaw got 'distracted;' he would do well teaching her to be a trickster in battle. He chose to let her land on his back instead of dodging. As soon as she his his back he dropped his shoulder so the smaller cat's momentum would throw her off of him. He lashed with unsheathed claws and hit her in the ribs, careful to hit her juat hard enough to sting but not seriously hurt her. "Can you guess the first rule of battle yet?" He asked with a soft smile. "And a wonderful pounce by the way"

He sighed, not intentionally ignoring her question, he looked around to see everyone who he needed to talk to for the moment.. then, he turned back to Whispersong. He smiled at her when she said he better give apprentices mentors and then watched as she padded away. What was this tugging feeling he had.. he wanted to walk after her but, he resisted the temptation and went to every cat he had to talk to (mentioned above) and told them he needed to talk to them. He told them to meet him over where he usually sat to talk to the whole clan and he padded over there himself. He waited for them to come over so he could talk to them all at once..

(Sorry, I wanted to get them all together and such to get this over with so there is no question about who mentors who c; plus, I'm tired and trying to make a giant detailed post is hard... o3o)
