Lynch| Giant Schnauzer| Male| It was clear to him that they had made up their minds, and that this idiotic expedition would be happening. He'd rather eat the dirt from the ground than volunteer to go. His eyes flicked to Dagga once, then back to the rest of them with an exasperated huff. Let them go put themselves in unnecessary danger. It was quite clear to him that his voice would not be heard among them, the stubborn lot they were. So he made a decision he knew would come back at him in the future, but it was the smartest move on his part. He needed to ally himself with the strong, and the weak would follow once they realized. Silently he followed the path of Dagga, long legs catching up to the brute quickly though he lagged behind a few paces. He could sense the other was not one for conversation and he couldn't help but be grateful. 0 players like this post! Like? |

In the span of time it took for the others to designate a scout team, Dagga had already stumbled across an applicable food source, a clan of meerkats. They were easy pickings. All Dagga had to do was take down the sentry keeping guard. It was quite a sport sneaking up on it, but after a brief chase, the Corso managed to snag the small mammal in his strapping jaws. He could hear the satisfying crunch of the meerkat's bones breaking between his teeth. He lifted his head to take a quick glance around, before he found a shady spot beneath a bush where he could consume his meal safely. The meerkat was a meaty little animal, and Dagga didn't waste a single scrap of meat off his catch, even managing to make a snack of its crunchy head. It was a sufficient meal that would most likely last him a few hours, but he knew he'd have to hunt down something else later on. He was a large dog, and if he was going to make it through today he would have to consume more calories than he burned. It wouldn't be an easy feat, but Dagga could manage. He rested a minute, licking the blood from his paws as he offered his meal a chance to settle. It was then that the Corso had finally decided to take note of the other dog that followed him. He only gazed at him from where he lay with nonthreatening eyes, his maws agape slightly and his tongue lolling as he panted. He wasn't surprised that the other dog tagged along after him. Dagga noticed a knowing glint in the Schnauzer's eyes at first glance, and he definitely had stood out to him amongst the others. 0 players like this post! Like? Thor | Male | Packmember | Siberian Husky | Mentions: Gladiator | Currently at the waterhole "I think I'll keep watch. My thicker coat will slow me down." He told the dog appreciating the respect he gave him "Remember you don't need to find a permanent spot for us just a place away from the heat and hidden." Thor told him. It'd be best to have the faster dogs scout and the stronger ones rest and protect the others. Maybe while they were all gone they could find out who was in charge and start arranging hunting parties and coming up with a plan. He gave Gladiator a quick nod goodbye before padded off towards the water. The water felt cool against his tongue, he was thirsty from all the talking he had done. Thor felt as if he could swallow the whole pond and stopped thinking better of it. There was many times he drank so much water he made himself sick and he was sure that he didn't want to be sick. He laid down on the golden grass feeling it brush against him as the wind swayed it. He looked towards the sky. It wouldn't be long before sundown they likely only had a few hours before nightfall. He just hoped the scouts would be back before then if not they'd most likely need to stop and wait till morning before continuing since traveling at night in these unknown parts could prove quite dangerous. 0 players like this post! Gladiator-7 years-Bluetick Coonhound-Packmember-Location: Savanah, Waterhole-Mentions: Thor Gladiator nodded, he started to pad away from the waterhole he knew this was dangerous but it was a better plan than to just walk north and hope to find humans, he smelled the air for any indications of a place to stay, when he found the scent of wild hogs, it was strong, but it was food nonetheless, but he was just one and there was the risk of a predator coming, he continued to pad until he found a small cave, he smelled the air and no other animal scent was there "Jackpot" he tried to look around for water, but sadly as far as he could see he didn't find any, he quickly padded back to the waterhole and told Thor about the cave. 0 players like this post! Lynch|Giant Schnauzer| Male| Mentions: Dagga Lynch looks on from a distance, impressed with the ease the brute went fro the kill. Admittedly, yes the prey was small, but Dagga was certainly an efficient hunter. He found his own bit of shad, a welcome reprieve from the beating sun, while the other enjoyed his meal. He was fine for now, and decided that it was wiser to conserve his energy for a larger meal that was sure to come later. The air around him was alive with the scent of animals both recent and long gone. He lay on his side in his spot of shade, soaking up whatever coolness he could from the ground below him. His coat was not quite built for the harsh African climate, and he needed to be smart to avoid overheating. He turned his attention to Dagga with a neutral gaze, assessing him a moment and knowing his decision was the best he could have made given the circumstances. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dagga took the amount of space the other male gave him as a sign of respect. He valued his own personal space and it seemed so did Lynch. It was also a good indication that Lynch was an intelligent dog, and knew it was best not to disturb Dagga until he knew him a little better. It was true for the Corso as well, for he was convinced that the fellow was also a force not to be grappled with. Dagga accepted the other, but didn't trust him quite yet. However, that did not mean they couldn't work together. The sun was still high in the sky, but it was moving towards the Western horizon at a fast pace. It was likely they only had a few more hours of daylight. Dagga knew he couldn't sit on his ass for as long as he'd like, and begrudgingly made an effort to stand on all fours. A quiver ran along his spine to ward off any insects that had perched on his backside, and he moved forward with his head slightly bowed. He gave a coaxing glance to Lynch, before his coal black nose began to sniff along the ground as he padded towards the way he was intended on; North. Next plan of action was to find a safe place to wait the night out. Then, he could worry about his next meal. Dagga knew he would be capable of taking down much larger game now that Lynch had joined forces with him. A bush pig or even a gazelle would be a breeze to take down if they could manage to work together. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thor | Male | Packmember | Siberian Husky | Mentions: Gladiator | Currently at the waterhole A smile crept up on his face. "Brilliant." the cave wasn't far from the waterhole and not far from where their master was killed. He padded over to a large mound of rocks and quickly scrambled up. "Attention." he said slightly louder than how he usually talked. "Gladiator has found a nearby cave. If you all agree we will go up there and spend the night and if we like it we will stay there." He searched the crowd looking for any dogs that would object besides Dagga and his minion. He wanted to go but he must first win the favor of the pack or no one would listen to him however reasonable he was. Thor if he could would like to help lead this pack along side Yule and they'd not only survive but they would thrive in this wasteland and he'd be sure of it even if it would cost him his life because he would prove Dagga and his arrogant mug wrong if it was the last thing he would ever do. 0 players like this post! Lynch|Giant Schnauzer|Male|Mentions: Dagga Lynch watched as the other rose to his feet, knowing that they needed to move on. Unfortunately, the relative safety of daylight would only last them a few more hours at the most. He stood at Dagga's glance, shaking dust out of his fur and moving forward. He didn't see cause to question their direction, as moving in any direction was safer than staying sedentary, making themselves sitting ducks like the others. Still, he kept distance between them as they moved. He did not fear the brute but he had no reason to trust him, either. Not yet anyway, simply going off his intuition. He had a feeling though, that their alliance would be mutually beneficial. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thor | Male | Packmember | Siberian Husky | Mentions: Gladiator | Currently at the waterhole "We've already found a safe place not far from here. If you and Dagga want to stay here and wait to travel that's fine by me, but it'll be much safer at the cave than out in the open at night." He told them tensely not quite happy about needing to argue about every little thing. Soon Thor would earn their respect and they'd listen to him, until then he would have to deal with Dagga and all his minions constant badgering. He climbed down from the mound a few stray pebbles falling as he did so. "Gladiator will lead us there. Everyone stick close, no wandering off to go and site see." He told them before giving Gladiator a nod to tell him to continue. Gladiator was a good dog, he had a good nose and a good spirit and he was sure that he'd come in great use to him in the future. Thor looked up at the sky, the once baby blue had shifted to rosy pinks and soft oranges. His stomach churned it wouldn't be long before night fall they would need to travel quickly if they were to get to there today. He chose not to let his worry show knowing it would get a snide remark from Dagga. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thor | Male | Packmember | Siberian Husky | Mentions: Gladiator, Imara, Dagga (indirectly) | Currently at the waterhole "Someone must be king, and it won't be that bloodthirsty mongrel and I'll be sure of it." Thor said shooting a glare at Dagga. "If you want you can join the hunting party that will chase them off or establish borders to keep those things away from the cave."He told her rolling his eyes."Or we can stay here and bicker. Whichever you prefer." He said in an even tone before padding forward and nudging Gladiator so that he'd show them the way to the way to the cave he had found. At this rate there was going to be two packs one with a murderer as leader and one that wasn't so stupid. He hoped if anyone died it'd be Dagga, he caused so much tension and wasn't trustworthy or loyal and if he died it'd be one less problem for everyone. Thor already began to miss his predictable domestic life, a life where he didn't worry about lions, hyenas and other dogs killing him. A life where he was loved and treated well though it was a soft life it was his life, but this life now was his and all he could do now was make the best of it and try his best to survive in the cruel wilderness. 0 players like this post! Gladiator-7 years-Bluetick Coonhound-Packmember-Location: Savanah, Waterhole-Mentions: Thor, Imara, All Gladiator glared at Imara "As far as I could smell, there was no Hyena or Lion smell, and I'm sure the hog's would leave if that was the case" he looked at her, but then looked at Thor "I'll lead you all to the cave when you tell me to" he told with his rought voice, he knew that Thor had more future than a leader than Dagga, he knew not to make rash decisions, but Gladiator was worried that the other's wouldn't want him to lead, Thor was a wise dog, in all of the years that this old dog has lived he knew a leader when he saw one. 0 players like this post! |Halo|Female|Packmate|Rhodesian Ridgie|Mentions: (directly) Imara, Thor, Gladiator (indirectly) Everyone|Waterhole| The rather tall she-dog had been sitting in silence for some time, just watching the bickering stretch out. Yawning, she stood, letting her presence known. "Listen up, at this rate, the lions and hyenas will find us. You all should stop your protesting, our ears need a rest. I say Gladiator should lead us on, he knows what he's doing, more than most of us." nodding respectfully towards the older dog, the lanky juvenile turned her sharp amber gaze on Thor and Imara, waiting for their responses. 0 players like this post!
