THE ROAD of LIFE
RP THREAD
Welcome to the roleplay thread. Your characters are played here. Enjoy. Here's a link for the OOC thread if you want to join. click me.

Guidelines:

1. The RP happens in the savannah. Something like the pridelands in TLK, but more dry.

2. The temperature is the average for any dog to basically survive, but at night, the temperature will go lower, especially in desert-like areas.

3. Once a IRL week, a character will be randomly picked to endure a survival challenge. Their living state (dead or alive) will depend entirely on what they have learned from their surroundings, and how well have they adapted.

4. If you get rebellious, prepare to be called out and scolded by a packmember who is superior or equal to you.

5. Pregnant and nursing females are kept away from the pack due to possible agressiveness caused by feeling threatened. While they're away, they don't go in hunts and are guarded by a packmember of their choosing.

6. All dogs share their food due to the need of equal strength among all members.

7. Hierarchy goes like this: 1. Leader 2. Commander 3. Packmembers & Mothers 4. Youth

Current RP Stats

- YEAR 1. MONTH 1. WEEK 1. (11 of September, 2017.)

Amarina's tail started swaying almost uncontrollably. "Of COURSE I talk, fool!" She barked at Dagga with a hard stare. She seemed more than delighted to be invited to tag along, and though she already knew her answer from the get-go, she looked slightly up and made a face as if she were pondering whether or not she should give these two mongrels the pleasure of having her company. Her ears perked, "I can totally keep up! Amarina insisted in a harsher tone, huffing. As Dagga continued the long trek to... Where-ever they were heading off to, the pup stole another glance at the other dog before scurrying forward a few paces. Dagga's legs were longer and stronger, but Amarina was more than ready for the challenge of keeping up with the two. The night was encroaching, and Amarina let out a small, distressed whine after looking at the darkening sky. She was never known to be a fan of wandering in the dark, nor the darkness in general, it had frightened her, to an extent. It was part of braving the unknown, she supposed, but she prayed that they were going somewhere they could settle to sleep.

Amarina snorted. "Do you even know where we're off to?" She rudely inquired Dagga, tilting her head to look at him, whilst keeping an eye on where she was setting her little paws.

Lynch | Giant Schnauzer | Male | Mentions: Dagga, Amaria |

The pup seemed quite taken with Dagga, much to Lynch's endless amusement. He moved, walking so Amariana was in between them both, just in case. The little thing had the attitude of a dog three times her size, and he was quite a fan. He really had never had many dealings with young pups, though he knew he had many of his own, usually being kept separate from them. But it seemed like this one was fairly self sufficient, though he didn't think it could hunt much on it's own aside form field mice or small rabbits.

He held back a snort at the question, she could definitely do to learn some manners, but he was fine having that tone directed anywhere but him. Mirth shone in his eyes as he waited for Dagga to answer the posed question. He was the one she asked after all.

Vigdis
Cirneco Dell'Etna Dog x Ibizan Hound Dog | Female/Bitch | 6 Years & 4 Months | Mentions: n/a

Vigdis watched vigilantly over the savannah. Master had been killed, leaving over 5 different breeds of dogs, some which had been born here and others not, to roam the arid land. Rising to her paws, Vigdis moved away from her shaded retreat, dancing across the burning sand uncomfortably as the sun boiled the earth beneath her paws. The Cirneco Dell'Etna Dog squinted her eyes, disliking the burning sensation in her eyes, lowering her head in response to frustration. She allowed her dehydrated tongue to run over her dry lips, paws lifting high as she gave each paw a short break.
Sitting beneath another tree, Vigdis appreciated the cover that was cast down her her coat. Her tail wagging slowly as the wind ruffled her short fur. Looking over the horizon, Vigdis felt disappointed that she could not find her wandering pack. After the accident with maser had happened only a few hours ago, most of the dogs owned by the man headed out in search of a place to sleep. Vigdis had agreed that finding shelter and scouting was a good idea, but both dogs arguments were fairly good. So, to not gain much attention to herself, Vigdis had left while the others continued to fuss over what to do and where to go now that they were in the middle of nowhere. Staying with the pack would have been a more inspiring option for the bitch, but, now that she had made her decision, Vigdis found it unacceptable, and obviously, Vigdis knew it was time to head back to the pack.
As the mix was pondering about her next steps, a rabbit had darted from the bushes, sitting watchfully in the sun and munching on some dry grass, The rabbit had not noticed the large predator, a focused and predatory glint in the canines eyes as she stalked forward. Instinct driving her towards her prey. Using her back legs to push herself forward, Vigdis parted her jaws wide, Large teeth coming close to the rabbit's skin seeking contact with its flesh, but missing sadly. The rabbit panicked, making a run for it as the dog regained her posture quite quickly, shaking her head roughly with a growl before racing after the rabbit once more. After moments of running and tiring biting, Vigdis gained on the rabbit, pouncing on its structure and listening to the satisfying crunch of bone as her powerful maw parted and lowered to take hold onto the rabbit's fluffy neck. Vigdis carried her kill back to the tree which she had claimed as hers, for now, relaxing and chewing silently on the rabbit in the shade. A good meal was one of the things Vigdis had been looking for, and though she had found herself a nice meal, the mix still kept a lookout for her old pack. Hoping they would accept her into the family once again.

Misha-4 Months-Great Dane-Youth-Location:Waterhole-Mentions: All, Vidgis

Misha sniffed the air once more, the faint smell was still there, she started following it but quickly stopped when she saw another female, she didn't reconize he but she padded over there. her long legs quickly carring her there, one she arrived she saw the bigger dog and ran up to her "Do you know where the rest of the pack is, I ran away when those monster attacked master" said the young puppy as she looked at the Cirneco Dell'Etna and Ibizan Hound mix, curiousity radiating from her eyes.

Dagga's expression was the complete opposite of Lynch's, for there was one thing that irritated him more than a wet behind the ears puppy; a wet behind the ears puppy that asked stupid questions. As a dog with little patience, the cane corso was quick to snap at Amarina. "I always know where I'm going, runt." His harsh voice was still suave and somewhat voluptuous despite it dripping with venom. He didn't even consider looking at her when he talked, his shrewd eyes focused only on the large cave-looking formation that only seemed to get larger with each step they took. As night was setting in like an ominous shroud of black, Dagga was silently grateful that all the distractions along the way hadn't deterred them from arriving to the safe spot on time. The first day of survival was truly turning out to be a successful one. Of course, he could only say that for sure once he woke up in the morning; still breathing.

"There, we're not that far at all now!" The black hound declared triumphantly to the other two, before breaking out in a calculated sprint towards the rocks. In the dimming light of the savanna, Dagga was but only a shadow moving swiftly through the moonlight. It would be a feat to catch up to him, let alone keep track of where he was. This made him especially well equipped for hunting under low light circumstances such as this. His camouflage was practically indomitable once the sun went down.

Beneath the scarce light of the moon, the rock formation seemingly blended in with the hills behind it. Together, the large boulders formed a sort of cave with how they jutted out so far as to form a pocket of space beneath them. Complete with large foliage surrounding the mouth of said 'cave', it offered enough cover to keep the trio hidden from any potential predators while they slept. Dagga's paws moved him along the entrance of the space as he snuffed around to make certain the area wasn't already occupied by other animals before peering inside. It was terribly dark within the cave, but still the persistent moonlight illuminated the entryway, and that was enough for Dagga. It wasn't like they were going to be doing anything within the cave besides sleep, which didn't require much seeing, anyway. He reared his head back to check if Lynch and Amarina were tagging along close behind him. Dagga moved quickly, and he expected nothing less from the other two dogs. So, he didn't feel the least obligated to wait for them.

The pup rolled her eyes dramatically enough to see the whites. "Sure, you do," She responded, "Okay. So where are we going, Smart One?" She once more looked up at the unreasonably tall and muscular Dagga. To think, she could actually feel safe and protected near him, yet Amarina felt the opposite. His menacing jaws could tear into her throat and she'd be dead in seconds. Though, wouldn't that happen, anyway? Without him? If anything, she could ditch this dog and run along with Lynch. Ignoring the thought, she looked towards the direction Dagga's glare was intent on. She couldn't see jack. Maybe if she were to seek higher grounds...?

She paused a moment between the flanking male dogs to bunch her muscles, preparing for a jump. She leaped forward, seeing something that resembled a cave-ish hideout. "There!" Amarina barked while she went back down, her floppy ears rising up comically as she did. Once her paws hit the ground, the puppy started sprinting, nearly tripping twice on those young, clumsy paws. The thudding of paws that were not hers, however, distracted her. Dagga! The filthy mongrel nearly trampled her as he sped past a baffled Amarina. Her legs worked faster than they should, hardly able to keep up with the dog, who melted into the darkness. Whatever, she wasn't following HIM, she was going on her own! Gradually, she was growing closer, though she got slower and more exhausted. She let her pink tongue dangle from her maw as she panted rapidly. She seemed to forget about her company, heading straight to the mouth of the cave and stopping to sit down. She, at least, had the sense to wait for those accompanying her as opposed to heading right in(even if Dagga had made it). Plus, it gave her some time to recover from her major exertion. Unless, of course, both of them had made it without her. It was whatever; she needed the break before going into the unknown.

Lynch | Giant Schnauzer | Male | Mentions: Dagga, Amarina |

Lynch watched the two sprint off, sighing to himself. It seemed like the two dogs would butt heads quite a lot, what with the pup's endless inquisitiveness and Dagga's near nonexistent patience. He sped up, long legs making it easy to catch up. He kept pace with Amarina rather than Dagga. The larger dog could easily protect himself, while he couldn't say the same for the pup. He stopped by her when she stopped in front of the dark cave, looking down at her. "All right, little one?" he asked, peering into the cave. It was dark, but smelled safe. It would be just fine for the night. He had a feeling they would be moving on once more by first light.

(I'm sorry this one's so short)

Triumphant in his finding, Dagga seemed surprisingly energetic. Although the day's heat had taken a toll on him, he didn't feel fatigued when he lowered his haunches to the dusty floor and rested his side against the rock face. This was most likely the reason why Dagga volunteered to be the first dog on night watch.

"I don't trust this area just yet, although it seems sound.." The mastiff's voice was gruff while he peered out over the moonlit African plains. He was retired at the mouth of the cave, muscles lax as he continued to address his pack. "I'll take first shift on watch duty." He peered back at Amarina, his eyes narrowing some. "I'm certain you'll make haste to get to sleep, pup. I don't want to be bothered with you all night." Looking forward to some peace and quiet, Dagga turned his alert senses towards the outside and waited for the others to get their hours worth of rest.

(lol same)

Amarina licked her chops before retreating her dry tongue. She volunteered quite the glare to Dagga for a youngster, just before offering an innocent, softened glance at Lynch. She merely shrugged meekly to his question. Unfortunately, the huge dog who thought he was boss called her a pup again, and appeared to be not only picking on her, but disparaging her as well. Amarina was intolerant of his every condescending word. It didn't take an idiot to know that she would have to prove herself--but the only way to truly prove oneself was to do exactly what he says, without saying a word, at that! The puppy was unsure what exactly to do about him. The silvery light of the moon made her pelt practically shine. A fine night, it seemed like there was still much to do, especially about that filthy mongrel. Yes, Amarina would have her way with him! She rose to her paws with newfound energy. As she melted into the darkness of the 'cave' rather quickly, she went out of her way to say without looking at either of the dogs, "The name is Amarina, stupid."

She flopped down, her back legs splayed out on each side, forelegs crossed at the ankle. Her fuzzy chin rested on her worn paws. Despite Dagga's harsh words, she absolutely did not fall asleep immediately. In fact, she was still wide a wake, if a bit chilly.

Lynch nodded as Dagga spoke. He was quite glad to be able to rest after such an eventful day. He padded his way into the cave, settling himself into a spot near the mouth of the cave. He hid his amusement, seemingly something he would have to do quite often, as the pup seemed to have no patience for Dagga's snappishness. He got himself comfortable, laying stretched out on his side. He did not fall into sleep right away, instead keeping an eye on Amarina, just in case. He felt an odd sense of responsibility for the young dog, and an strange urge to protect her.

He didn't ponder the thought for too long, heaving a sigh, stirring up some dust on the cave floor. He let his eyes slip shut, willing his body into sleep.

Vigdis
Cirneco Dell'Etna Dog x Ibizan Hound Dog | Female/Bitch | 6 Years & 4 Months | Mentions: Misha

She had suspected to see other dogs that also belonged to master out here in the wild, but not a 4-month-old old pup. Rising to her paws, the mix gently pushed her kill aside, her appetite gone. Sadly young pup I have not...but I am looking for them as well. If you'd like you can stay with me till we find them..It would be nice to have some company. Stepping past the pup Vigdis walked along the edge of the waterhole, looking down at her reflection with a content smile with the light of the moon behind her. During the day, the Savannah was hot and full of wonder, many of the population being active during the morning and partially in the night. Vigdis mostly prefered the daytime, her coat being able to blend with the dirt. Of course, it was always nice after dark. The wind ruffling your fur as you run and the calming chirps of crickets filling the night, but the creatures that lurked in the darkness gave her the shivers, and it was honestly no place for a dog to be. So, what do you say little pup? Wanna stick with me until we can find the pack. looking over her shoulder and back at the pup, there was a soft smile on her face, her sharp eyes twinkling due to the soft touch of moonlight that shed upon her back and dimmed her reflection in the pool of water beside her.

Misha-4 Months-Great Dane-Youth-Location:Waterhole-Mentions: Vidgis

"That would be nice" said the young pup in a quiet voice, as she padded over to Vidgis "It's pretty scary out here" Misha mumbled to herself as she shivered, her long tail moving slightly time to time as her long, floppy ears twiched at every sound that the wild savanah provided, she sat next to Vidgis, her small body trying to find warmth "What's your name? Mine's Misha" asked the young great dane, trying to lighten the mood.

Dagga's eyes were trained on the scenery before him, but his mind was elsewhere. It had been a long day, and he was grateful for the alone time he had now to reflect back on all of its events. He couldn't help but retrace his thoughts back to the occurrences prior to the death of the humans. Before the group set out for the hunt, Dagga remembered saying his goodbye to his master. The man, to which Dagga deemed dotingly as Pumpa, had fallen ill and could not join the pack in their hunt. For the past few weeks, the corso recalled that Pumpa's condition had only been getting worse, and he feared the old man, who had raised Dagga up from a young age after rescuing him and his litter from the jaws of scavenging hyenas, did not have many days left in him. Pumpa was a wise and sturdily built man, with a loving family and a charismatic charm to him that Dagga admired. He had looked up to his master as a strong and diligent leader, and he was extremely upset that he would most likely never get to see him again. He couldn't help but think pessimistically about Pumpa's condition. He did not know exactly what he had been struck with, but by the way his family reacted, it had to be terminal. Dagga worried the man may die before he succeeds in returning to the village where he grew up and reuniting with his master. It was a grievance that deeply disturbed the mastiff. Aside from his sisters, Pumpa and his kids were the only family Dagga had ever known.

He quickly shook the upsetting thoughts from his head, a yawn parting his maws. It was remarkable how easily it was for Dagga to conceal his thoughts and emotions, only allowing his logical side to move him through life and make all of his decisions. This is what contributed to him being so skilled at surviving and such an unstoppable opponent in combat. However, his stoic personality did have its downfalls. For one, forming and maintaining relationships was something Dagga struggled with, what with his harsh and unyielding personality. It was unclear, though, if companionship or intimacy was something that the cane corso craved because it was definitely not something he pursued. Even to his closest acquaintances, Dagga was but an enigma to them. The pack, for example, knew nothing of the dark coated dog. Not his strengths nor weaknesses; only his gritty demeanor and sinister grin, and that is exactly how Dagga intended on keeping it.

Peering back to Lynch and Amarina with a seemingly indifferent gaze, the brute felt vaguely responsible for their well-being. At this point, he figured the only reason Lynch strayed from the pack and joined the corso was because he saw Dagga as a capable leader, and Amarina tagged along because, subconsciously, she had to have the knowledge that she was safer among the two older hounds than on her own. As independent as she sought herself out to be, she was still young and rather defenseless out here in the brutal African plains, and Dagga was well aware of the benefits he offered to the pup. He would still have to see how much potential she had in terms of defending herself and hunting efficiently. Her boisterous attitude wasn't enough to convince Dagga that her bite sized up with her bark. As for Lynch, he was just as competent as Dagga was and seemed to have better luck in coaxing Amarina than he did. In deduction, there were more pros than cons when it came to travelling with this company in particular, and he would see to it that he would stick his neck out for them if they were to do the same.

As the hours passed by, fatigue seemed to be sneaking up on the corso. His yawns were growing more frequent and his alluring eyes became half-lidded. He would only manage another half hour or so of keeping watch, before he'd need to catch some Z's himself.
