Rosepetal waited by the stream like she normally did.
She had something very important to ask Lillynose.
She just hoped she would say yes!
If she didn't, Rosepetal's entire world would fall apart.
She knew what she was doing was wrong.. But if it was wrong, Why did it feel right?
If she had to, she'd run away with Lillynose!

She was growing impatient, but waited nonetheless.
Her love might be able to join her clan.
She spoke with Troutstar about it and he said yes.
Now it was a matter of speaking with Lillynose's leader.
Only if the pretty she-cat wanted to of course!

Lillynose was finding herself dashing to her beloved once again, time keeping was really not her best trait, as usual her fur was covered in heather flowers and sticks, her nose was cut from their stems as she'd just focused on running to the meeting pace.
"Rosepetal!" She cried out in glee stopping just near the pretty calico and nuzzling the she-cat, "Sorry I'm late!"

"Its ok!" She mewed gently.
"I wanted to ask you something important" She mewed.
Rosepetal shuffled her paws slightly, looking at the she-cat with her frosted eyes.
They were nervous, but they had a strong gaze.
"Would you join my clan?" She mewed, her pelt shivering slightly.
She was so nervous! What would Lillynose say?

"Y-your clan!?" Lillynose blurted out without even thinking, she couldn't help the sadness the clouded her eyes or how her ears flickered down.
Leave Windclan? Leave the endless rolling moors? Leave the sweet heather scented territory that she'd been surrounded since her first kitten steps?
Could she?
Would she...
She turned her head away unable to look her beloved in the eyes, she adored Rosepetal so much and being with her without all the secrets and lies would truly be a dream come true.
However leaving her clan wasn't something she'd ever imagine. Perhaps she should have...
Oh this twisted her heart so much, she felt so guilty being so unsure, she thought of how much pain she'd be putting Rosepetal is and that twisted her heart more.

"I shouldn't has asked so much of you" She meowed weakly.
Rosepetal lowered her head.
If she had to join Windclan she would never be able to hunt properly!
She hunted on land, but it had more bushes and trees than Windclan.
She would never be a good addition to that clan.
She sighed shaking her head. She was a terrible cat for asking that!

"Oh Rosey no..." Lillynose sniffled leaning close to her beloved mate letting their furs merge, finding her love's warmth to be a comfort, she still smelled like minnows a smell so near and dear to her.
"I'd never imagined I'd have this choice...." speaking was hard as a lump grew in her throat, still she carried on, "But...I want ta be with you..."

"We can keep meeting though" She mewed.
"Instead of being in the same clan" She looked at her mate.
"I'd do anything for you, but if join windclan I may be more of a burden than help" She whispered.
She was having trouble breathing, though it was normal when she was upset or worried.

Lillynose curled her tail around Rosepetal using it to soothingly stroke the calico's chest, willing her to ease her breathing.
"I'd never ask you to leave Riverclan...but we can't keep meeting like this..." Lillynose rested her muzzle on Rosepeta's cheek, "I want to share a nest with you, wake up next to you, share breakfast...."
She trailed off into silence her mind racing with thoughts.
'Starclan help me my heart is breaking'
"I'll join Riverclan..." she breathed out, pained and strained and barely audible.

Rosepetal shook her head.
"But you want to be in Windclan!" She meowed.
"It isn't fair to you" She whispered.
Rosepetal felt terrible for Lillynose.
She couldn't do this to her!
She loved this she-cat very much.. But her fur wouldn't help during hunting.
It didn't blend in, especially since there were no trees.
She stared at her paws, about to wail.

Lillynose did wail, a pained wail like the cry of a kit that had lost it's mother. She dug her claws deep in the earth as if that act would stop the swaying in her head.
What could she do?

Lillynose was Windclan from nose to tail tip, she was built for a life of running after fast prey, her fur too thin to hold back freezing cold waters, her paws to quick to patiently wait for fish to swim by. But still she'd try, she'd re train if that's what it took to be with her beloved rose.
Her chest heaved with a deep breath.
"No Rosepetal...you asked me for a reason." She looked at her mate, trying to hide the sadness in her eyes by thinking of what their life together could be like, "Please let me join Riverclan, let's be together like mate should."
