It is common sense that you increase your odds by using more energy (by means of saving or GB purchases or whatever) because the more you do something the more likely you are to encounter said chance but it still is not guaranteed. Same concept as the lotto I guess, someone can buy 50 tickets and someone can buy 1. On the balance of probability the person with 50 tickets is more likely to win but not guaranteed. 9/10 the person with more tickets would win but there is still the 1 part where they won't.

There are children and a lot of people out there who would not be able to afford to spend real money but just because you are in a privileged position to do so doesn't mean you should take that chance away from others. You spend money on the site because you enjoy the content and perhaps want to increase your odds but you certainly should not be spending money on the ideal you feel you should be privileged because of it. I spend money on this site but at no point do I feel any opportunities should be taken away from anyone else.

Yes, perhaps my choice of definition of 'entitled' is a bit too harsh, although I would beg to say some of the 'I deserve this because I spent X amount' would be. I'm sorry if I offended anyone on that note.
I felt exactly the same when I used up all of my items trying to interstellar but I was fully aware of the consequences and therefore felt no need to demand change because of it. I think that is what I am getting at - just because people are spending large quantities on it and not succeeding doesn't mean change is warranted.

If the odds should be below 1/50,000 and by the collaborative discussion it is shown this is not the case then it is wholly correct for change to be made. The herb is meant to be more obtainable than Intersteller or Solaris from my understanding? But is it realistically?
These discussions are needed to highlight such things.

OH man, I am in agreement for more male poses. I've only been playing for a short amount of time (albeit joining a long time before that) and it is a dire need. A variation of 3-4 would be sensible but of course, I know absolutely nothing about coding ect ect

I have to say that as one of those folks who doesn't spend my hard earned money on this site (because I don't have the luxury to spend cash on a bunch of virtual lions) it is disheartening to see just how high the chances are of finding this event. People have reported spending nearly 100 GB and more with nothing to show. It doesn't make me feel like I have a real chance at getting it, and if I do run across it it would be like stumbling across a real life four leaf clover.

The thing with gambling is that yes, of course there is the chance you won't get what you want, but you still have to know what you're doing in order to keep people engaged. If you make the odds too much out of their favor with nothing interesting in the middle, then you give people no reason to try. Why do you think Gambling Casinos do so well? They don't have the lotto machines only give out money if you hit the jackpot. It feels more like a money grab than anything else and considering that it's likely going to be more accessable and more affordable in a few months, why bother slapping down fifty or more REAL WORLD dollars for this virtual lion skin? If I run across it on my own, great. I got really, really lucky. I'm not expecting much though.

So no, I don't think the folks complaining feel entitled. I think they feel frustrated because they're realizing all the time and money lost on something they never really had much of a chance of getting.

Rae, yes I agree the term may have been harsh, as you stated. I think the correct term, defined, Is disappointment. People expected better odds than Solaris or interstellar or even tigon, but again as previous statements express, there certainly is a huge gap in odds and people are understandably upset. Especially when you see ferus cubs in trades for 350gb. The hope people had are certainly dashed. And for free to play people it’s certainly unobtainable for a very long time.

It’s not the first time Lioden has messed up a code on release. Madagascar bases come to mind. Perhaps a look into the code is warranted. In the end though I think the frustration and angst comes from people with multiple failures over the last year, cumulated to this instance where they see all these new things released and have come up empty handed over and over again. And it’s very understandable they get mad, especially when they see some people get more than one of these items.

So yeah I think your views, now clarified are spot on, but for sure the term entitled may need to be replaced.

I don’t expect a gimme gimme, but damn, it’s borderlin ridiculous when you look at the sheer numbers of those found vs steps in explore taken.

And yeah, new poses would be nice. Obtainable poses, that come with personality, not a rare drop or oasis item. I love the new muts, but it’s been years, new kings would be nice for a change. Call it a consolation for those who can’t get these fancy based or new muts .

Since the tier 3 boost, I've had 3 of my friends encounter it without the use of Energy Boosts, but sadly all three of them skipped over the shaman. :c

I've used around 26+ Energy Boosts and still no luck.

I’m so bummed so far tbh, I haven’t gotten any of the rare encounters before (Solaris, interstellar, and a lucky tigon boost come to mind immediately), never won a raffle lioness (celestial or normal) etc.......I know it’s all up to chance but I was really hoping this would be my lucky break!!

Going to be honest and say I was extremely lucky in finding one very easily. I had been off for a few weeks, came online only yesterday, read the post and got really excited. I instantly went into explore to begin exploring for one and after pressing explore only a couple of times I got one. So definitely a huge point of luck for me which I am glad for but I feel sorry for all of these people who have been spending so much money on trying to get one. I wish all those who don't have one good luck! The month isn't over yet so don't give up hope <3

The rarity of Ferus upsets me a lot, but even more sad makes me that "tier 3 will have a boosted chance of the encounter!".
NO. It does NOT have a boosted chance. Not at all, not a sniff, there is no boost no matter what admins claim. It's just not there. Because if it was, it'd do SOMETHING at least. At least a little. A tiny bit. But it doesnt. As a matter of fact, Mukombero's been even rarer to find than in tier 2. I have used 3 Meat Pies, 25-26 Energy Boost, 3 days of Roasted Lamb for extra energy, plus Gorilla Enclave energy every day - no-thing. Not a hair. That's more energy than Id get in the remaining of the month if I just looked for it naturally - so Id not get one if I just played the game normally. Means people who dont spend a ton of energy items are literally left out, they're at a huge disadvantage because of the item's overextreme rarity.

Katze said the script works as intented but I personally feel, they didnt really check it. Just brushed off the question, feeling secure in the coders' work. Because it's so much easier to just have faith in coders and believe everything is working fine, than actually asking them to go check things out - especially considering all the problems and drama they'd have to face if they DID find out there was a mistake in the code. So I feel admins just take a "happy go lucky" policy here... even if it's bugged, lets pretend everything is fine to avoid people getting even more upset.
I think it's something like an extra 0 in the % formula. Like it was a 0,01 chance to find one and they made it %0,005 - it'd seem 5 is more than 1 but the second number is actually less than the first.

Because otherwise, if the boost was so microscopic it doesnt improve chances any at all... why even mention it at all? Why get peoples' hopes up, when the boost is so insignificantly miserable it doesnt really boost anything? This whole Ferus thing had me very excited at first but the more wasted energy goes poof, the more it's disheartening to even keep trying.

I literally spent everything just to buy a Mukombero, since I used up 100 energy roots, a bunch of roasted lambs and got nothing.
