Here's your starter, a dark brown rat. What would you like to name them and what gender are they?



Exploring the Forest

Scampering through the forest one morning on the lookout for anything interesting or fun. There is a lovely breeze and the leaves above are making the shadows on the forest floor dance around.

You take a new path and happen across a rockier area with what looks like a small cave on the other side and a bit dead tree up a small rise.

Do you:
- Sniff about in the rocks for anything that might have fallen between them
- Check out the cave to see what's in there
- Climb up the rise to investigate the dead tree

You head in the direction of the rustling you saw, burrowing your way through the thick grass. When you get close you can hear something before seeing anything, lots of rustling and moving around, and a few squeaks here and there.

Curious, you poke your head through the grass and see two rats in the middle of a tussle, a black rat and a white rat. You aren't sure what they're fighting about, but they seem to be evenly matched.

Do you:
- Wait and see what happens
- Try to intervene
- Pick a side and cheer them on

Exploring the Forest

It takes some doing thanks to some loose rubble on the way up, but you finally make it to the top of the rise. The dead tree is much bigger than you thought!

There is a gap near the bottom where it looks like it might be hollow on the inside, and now that you're closer you can see a hint of something blue at the top of the tree, there is also a smattering of branches lying around that must have fallen off in a recent storm.

Do you:
- Try to climb to the top of the tree
- See if you can get inside the tree
- Look through the fallen branches for anything interesting

While the tree is bigger than you thought it was, the splintered dead wood gives plenty of purchase and you are able to find hand and footholds. It is very tiring, but you do eventually make it to the top and look about for your prize.

For a moment you look down and get a little bit dizzy... best not to do that. Then you see a flash of blue.

You found A Bluejay Feather! This item can apply blue hued markings to the rat of your choice.

You squeak and jump into the fray, doing your best to separate the two angry rats. You get a good jostling before the two realize you are even there, but then they step back, still full of adrenaline but not fighting for the moment.

The white rat looks to be in worse shape and looks to be about to take off, while the black rat still looks ready for a fight.

Do you:
- Console the white rat
- Try to calm the black rat

You are enjoying the meadow on a sunny day with a nice breeze and bumblebees flitting from flower to flower. Some birds are taking baths in a small pond. There are a few interesting smells floating along on the breeze as well and you aren't quite sure what to do today.

Do you:
- Pick out a scent to follow
- Join the birds in having a splash in the pond
- Frolic with the bees

You head to the pond to splash around in the shallow water and while a few of the bird are spooked, most of them stay put, seeing that you don't mean any harm.

One bird in particular flits closer and the two of you have a small splashing contest for a little while before everyone tires and departs.

On your way out of the water a glint catches your eye and you pull a lovely Shiny Rock out of the water. This rock increases the chances of finding a rare rat when exploring, or the chances of breeding a mutation if used when breeding.

You turn to the large black rat and get between them and the other rat, making soothing noises and gestures. While you do this the white rat slinks away out of sight.

The black rat grumbles that he would have won if you hadn't intervened, but seems to realize that you are just trying to help. Maybe the fight hadn't been the best idea, but he clearly isn't about to admit that. He would, however, be happy to join you.

You get a male black rat, what would you like to name him?
