I think I said it in my suggestion before, and I'll say it here again: there is a point where when something is too rare, it's no longer fun. It's frustrating. Yes, these things are supposed to be special, but they're... "too" special and thus no one wants them because they're more of a pain in the ass than they're worth. You're punished for wanting that base.

The same thing happens with Solaris-- It should be a highly sought after thing because it's rare, in theory, but there's hardly a market for it because it's just not fun.

"The bases are dying".....like Nadir...the "common" base. Who thought of that?????

Lots of bases are dying, but Kimanjano and Mandarin especially. The whole pass rate system needs to be re-assed. I will not breed to or waste time in trying to breed bases that have such low pass rates. I will not waste currency on a gamble for a base that Im sure others will consider wasted as well.

Highest on my boycott list are hybrid bases, the next bases are combo bases. After that, rosette markings, I wont buy them or breed for them. Im sure Im not alone in my opinion.

When I see a base with such a low pass rate on a stud, I skip over them.

When I see one for sale, I wont touch it.

Lions die, and with a pass rate as low as 1-6/500, no thank you, waste of effort, time and money.

My current kings barely pass their bases with about 200 cubs in their lifetime, why bother with a pass rate with less than 8/500?

My Merlot king is just under 10 years old and finally, FINALLY passed his base on 2 cubs, after over 180 cubs born. Mt Rough Ruby king has yet to pass his base after 155 cubs.

I cannot imagine the frustration and disappointment of having a base that might never pass during a kings natural lifetime or practically be required to use oasis items to give the tiniest boost to its passing.

I understand hybrids are rare, but this whole thing with hybrid bases is over the top.

Rarity is important, but impossibility is cruel.

I don't really think increasing it to 2% was a "fix". It should have been 4% like the others.

In fact, on a separate but related rant:

I still "like" how items like Crunchy Worm and Lion Scrotum were allowed to exist but not a single item that helps you pass a base. It doesn't even have to be guaranteed, I don't want it to be guaranteed. I just want an item that gives you a small bonus, maybe even as small as 3%. It doesn't have to be a specific base, either. It could be an item for just "special base". So you could still get the wrong one if you were breeding SpecialxSpecial.

I still insist, and so do many other Special base breeders, that an item like this would NOT "kill" BO bases. It would only HELP them. No one wants to breed these bases because they are actually just too obnoxious to breed, ESPECIALLY with OTHER BO traits.

Here's another idea that is maybe even less offensive than an item:

Make it a November Piety effect. You can spend some Piety to give your king a bonus chance (we'll say 3% again) to pass his base for the entirety of the November event. That way it's restricted to this event and outside of this month they go back to their normal, shitty pass rate.

I really don't think there's any fundamental gameplay reason to keep these bases nerfed/halve the passrate. They're seminat that's enough of a nerf
