Gwen hissed again and her tail fluffed up. The door to the house opened and another person walked in, this one with brown hair and a weary expression, "Gwen, leave them alone, I could hear you from down the street." Nicola smiled, and pulled Casimir over to the stranger, "Casimir, this is Aspen, the last roommate, I promise."

"Greetings," Casimir greeted Aspen, already enjoying seeing Gwen angry even though they had just met.

Aspen half-heartedly waved back before yawning and heading upstairs to sleep. Gwen hissed one more time at the two then headed off into the kitchen to join Spencer, leaving Nicola and Casimir alone in the living room.

“Has she always been like that towards you?” Casimir asked Nicola under his breath, referring to Gwen.

Nicola was setting the reindeer figurine he picked up earlier on the fireplace mantle, "Yeah, I don't think she likes me because I wasn't born in the tribe like the other kitsunes. Still, I don't take it personally because she seems to hate a lot of people."

"What about the other kitsunes, do they dislike her? Can they do anything about her?" Casimir asked.

Nicola just shrugged, "Everyone in the tribe sees her a different way. Some of them have known her since she was little and turn a blind eye to when she's having one of her moods." He walked over to the tree, looking at some of the ornaments.

"She must've been a brat..." Casimir muttered under his breath, glancing towards the kitchen where Gwen had gone off to. He set the shopping bag of Christmas decorations down on the ground by them.

Nicola didn't respond, pulling one of the ornaments off the tree and bringing it over to Casimir with a smile, "Ooh look at this one! It's like a mini snowglobe with an artic fox in it, how cute."

"Who decorated set up the Christmas tree? You? Aspen?" Casimir asked, pulling some of the Christmas ornaments they had bought out from the bag.

"Aspen. I tried to help one year, but after breaking three ornaments in excitement we decided it would be better if he set up decorations," Nicola said, humming a Christmas song as he put the ornament back.

Casimir hang up an ornament they had bought on the tree. "I've never had the chance to decorate a Christmas tree before," he said.

Nicola thought for a minute then began taking ornaments off the tree, "How about you decorate this one then? It's not to difficult to get all the ornaments and garland off the tree and then we get a chance to look at all the ornaments when we put them back on."
