"Maybe someone should quiz him on how to be a good father," Nicola mumbled, but nonetheless he smiled and tried to push Casimir's next gift towards him.

Casimir opened his next gift and saw that it was a small telescope. “I’ve always needed something to do on nights where I can’t sleep,” he murmured as he examined the telescope. “Maybe I could try stargazing out.”

Nicola looked over at the telescope too, "The stars and constellations actually have many interesting stories, it may be nice to learn and read about something other then war."

"Just have to hide it where my father can't see it," Casimir muttered to himself. He did not want to see the telescope smashed to pieces. "Anyway, how about you open one of your gifts now? I'll open my last one but so far you've just been watching."

Nicola nodded, "Seems fair," he turned and picked up the snow globe, unwrapping it carefully. He smiled as he shook the snow globe so snow fell over the fox.

"Merry Christmas...Do you like it?" Casimir asked, hesitating slightly since he had never really gifted someone Christmas presents and didn't know what he was supposed to say.

"It's adorable! I love it!" Nicola said, beaming as he hugged Casimir. He set the snowglobe down and turned back to Casimir, "Should we open our last gifts together?"

Casimir smiled for a brief moment when Nicola hugged him but quickly returned to his usual expressionless expression. "I don't see why not," He said as he took out his last gift and got ready to unwrap it. He was slightly nervous that Nicola wouldn't really like the candy canes, since they were, after all, just snacks.

Casimir could have given Nicola a random rock he found on the ground and Nicola probably still would have been happy, so the candy canes were going to be just fine. Nicola picked up his last gift too and began unwrapping it.

Casimir started unwrapping the last gift too and was relieved to see that it was candy too. “I’ve never had…Sour Patch Kids before,” he commented as he read the name on the bag.

Nicola gasped, "You haven't? They are so good- I figured you don't have candy often so that's why I got you some." He finished unwrapping his gift and grinned, "Candy canes? Nice!"

"I don't like sweet stuff in general...But I guess I could give it a try," Casimir said, looking at the bag of Sour Patch Kids. "I'm not sure what flavor they are, though," He glanced at the candy canes.

"It doesn't matter what flavor they are, they'll still be good!" Nicola chirped, sticking a candy cane into his mouth, "What do you want to do now? Hey wait have you ever celebrated New Years?"
