Personality:
Sootpaw is...well he's not really sure WHO he is exactly. In his eyes he's unremarkable and nothing special. In many ways he's a typical young apprentice, however he's overly cautious of many things and a timid little guy. This is not surprising as he's been this way since birth.

He's not a very optimistic cat and finds it hard to see the good side of things. He's also easily intimidated and a people pleaser who would rather go along with the crowd and blend in rather than stand out. This is especially true if a cat is in a position of authority above him. Sootpaw wouldn't dare go against a direct order from his mentor, older warrior, and especially the clan's leader or deputy.

This is not to say he's all gloom and doom. Sootpaw is a bit more open and relaxed around apprentices or close friends and in general he's pretty friendly. Some would say he doesn't have a mean bone in his body.
In fact he might even be fun on a good day! He is a bit of a stickler to the rules though and breaking rules would fill him with dread and guilt. He'd probably crack if questioned pretty easily lol.
Sootpaw can also be too trusting and naive if he thinks a cat is his friend and that combined with his fear of disobeying orders can make him rather easy to manipulate.

Not the quickest to pick up on new things, Sootpaw learns by doing and failing more than just watching. You can't expect him to understand something if you just show him once. He'll need a few tries to feel it out usually before he gets the hang of something.

Sootpaw's favorite things in life are naps in the sun on a nice warm rock and building things. Working on dens and such are something he especially enjoys. In his eyes it's easier, relaxing, and more fun. Moss ball is also pretty fun to play even if he's not that good at it.

He is also a cat who very much does not like wide open spaces. He feels it's much safer to not venture into the open too much and prefers shaded areas.

Surprisingly, or perhaps not, Sootpaw also has an interest in herbs and healing. He thinks it's really neat and finds the idea of StarClan utterly fascinating. The idea of ever becoming a medicine cat is a bit too overwhelming for him though and he wouldn't dare of disappointing his aunt or mentor by 'quitting' his apprentice training.

Appearance:
A young tom who is slightly smaller than average as he didn't have the right nutrients as a small baby thanks to his mother's death.
Sootpaw is a cat with very round features. Nothing about him is really angular. He has a somewhat compact build, not muscular yet but will probably grow to be a bit more muscular than the average cat over time.

He has a round body, seen especially in his face and ears which have a rounded tip and the tiniest bit of fluff at the top. His fur is short with just a tiny bit of fluff on the tips of his ears and between some of his toes. It's a dark black color that will turn more brown if in the sun for a while and he has odd white spots on his face that resemble freckles. He also has a white spot on his forehead and white toes on his front right paw. His eyes are a pale yellow color.
Sootpaw is a bit heavy-pawed and clumsy movement wise, but has powerful legs for jumping and probably fighting as well. He has large paws with an extra toe on his front paws and dark black claws and nose.

'Fun' Facts:
- Despite not being born into the clan he does believe 100% that StarClan exists, but he worries he won't be accepted if he dies.

- Sootpaw hates large bodies of water and being wet. He doesn't even like jumping in puddles.

- His favorite food is squirrels.

- Sootpaw looks a lot like his father.

Personality:
Generally confident and sure of herself, and perhaps a bit haughty at times, Cricketleap tends to not falter on decisions she's made. If she decides something she'll stick with it. Cricketleap is Generally a hard working cat and isn't one to often goof off when on duty. She takes her role as a warrior very seriously and in her mind not doing her tasks successfully could jeopardize her state in the clan.

While serious, she's not one to find the boring tasks fun. Cricketleap enjoys a good conversation or time with others too. She can be a bit snarky, tho usually in a playful manner, and perhaps a bit of a flirt if she finds anyone of interest to her. You could say she's secretly a little bit of a hopeless romantic and would probably fall 'in love' pretty fast...and possibly fall out of love fast too. Due to her goals she's never really explored it yet but now that Sootpaw is older she might want to start exploring it one day if the timing is right.

She can be quick to anger however and won't hesitate to use her claws if she feels it's warranted. While she'd almost never strike a clanmate, she's not above it either and tends to fluff her fur out if she's irritated or angry on instinct.
She can be pretty petty tbh and doesn't take disrespect lightly. If she believes she's right she'll argue about it until the sun comes up. That said if provided with 'proper evidence' she'd most likely stop, tho an apology might be hard to get from her. Saying "I'm sorry" is not something she enjoys doing and would rather avoid having to in the first place if she can help it.

Cricketleap is insecure of her past and not being clan-born, knowing it's often important to clan cats. She's worked extra hard her whole life in the clan to be 'valuable' and secure a good life for Sootpaw and herself, but mostly Sootpaw.
Over time she found a bit of ambition. Being 'the best' in all situations is ideal for her. She admires the leader position greatly and would enjoy being leader one day if she can so it's a goal she's working to. Impressing Swanstar and Silverheart is important to her because of this and there probably isn't much she'd not do to accomplish that.

Cricketleap enjoys being up high, one of her favorite hunting types is "Tree Hunting" where one hunts in the tree jumping from branch to branch. She's also easily amused and easy to make laugh and enjoys telling stories of the tales her mother told her when she was a kitten. She has a small collection of feathers in her nest that she claims makes it more comfortable to sleep in and one may find her saving good feathers from her kills to put in her nest later. If you ask she'd also probably share with you.

Appearance:
Cricketleap is a slender, long-legged she-cat with medium(?) length fluffy fur and a long, fluffy tail. She has tall, pointed ears and small, dainty paws. She's probably half a head taller than the average cat and is not built for strength in the slightest. She seems more built for speed than anything else.
Her fur is black with a white chin, chest, and stomach with a small white dot on her upper lip. She has perfectly stitched white toes on her fore paws with the exception of the inner toe on her right front paw which is black. She also has white socks on her back paws. She has fluffy ear tips and ear furnishings as well as a black nose and paw pads.
Her eyes are a bright yellow-green shade and she has long whiskers that mostly curl inward starting at the middle.
Her fur always looks a bit unkempt even though she does groom it at least once a day. She tends to walk with an air of elegance about her, very confident in all her movements and her tail held high.

'Fun' Facts:
- She sees a lot of Sootpaw's father in him and hates it. Secretly she wishes he looked more like his mother / her sister.

- I always imaged her voice to sound like that mother from that Dear Evan Hansen musical, maybe just a tad more raspy tho.

- Unlike Sootpaw, she doesn't care about StarClan being real or not. Real cats are more important than dead ones to her.
