Wine took an additional moment to gather herself, discomfort aching in every joint and organ. She looked down at the green slime that had come from her mouth, the bubbling pus which made her insides turn. Then she looked back up at Morpheus, her face settling. "I think I will," she replied, giving him a small smile.

She twisted to look at Luna, a certain smugness to her expression. While she had been acting like a pupil or an admirer before, she seemed to look down on her now.

(Agh, why must you torment me?! Fine, I'll keep looking. And yes, Wine and Morpheus can definitely breed. Man, I kinda wish my new side king was Morpheus and Wine's cub, but que será, será.)

Luna fought the urge to scowl at the younger lioness. Even after all this, she still thought she had any control or say in what she was about to become and what awaited her. Her pity turned to slight amusement, as she painted a small smirk on her muzzle, holding her head a bit higher, letting her eyes emit the same glow as Morpheus's long enough for Wine to notice before she locked the power she wielded safely away, back in her own mind. Let the pitiful lioness know, that she wasn't the only one with powers here.

"Good" Morpheus's smile grew big and wide in turn. He either didn't notice the mental feud between the two lionesses or simply didn't care about it. Knowing how daemons worked, however, it was most likely the ladder.


(Seek and you shall find what you are looking XD I also thought this would have been a great idea but alas, it was not meant to be. Unless we pretend that Morpheus is The Silence's father. Have them be like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker just more evil XD)

Wine give a flicker of irritation as Luna met her smug look, but she didn't feel intimidated by Luna's display of power as she would have just minutes ago. The power high was still lingering, though whether it lasted she would have to see. She turned away from Luna as though she was disinterested, her eyes lingering on Morpheus again.

She hitched her smile back up for him, matching his attitude. "We'll meet again soon," she said, and though it was phrased like a statement, her tone indicated a question. She wanted to know how soon their paths would cross again.

(Ah, I see you're 8 hours ahead. That means you're not from the UK or Iceland, according to my handy-dandy time zone map. As for Morpheus being The Silence's dad, sure, let's do that! We are gods of lion reality, after all! Their Star Wars-ish story begins!)

"Sooner than you think dearie" Morpheus answered in his soothing, almost seductive voice. He stepped back from Wine, his smile unwavering.
"You are free to go for now. I would like to see you here tomorrow. I might have a small task for you then" He said kindly, before picking up a pebble from the ground and held it in his paw for a second "Before you go, however, you'll need protection from the spirits. In here they can't harm you, my and Anaideias presence is enough to scare them away, but out there you'll need something to repel them." He began turning the stone in his paw, as if testing it's surface.

(Yeah, English is not my first language. And so I guess Morphues is now going to try and woo Wine, whatever that would mean. Or it could be the other way around, but only you can tell. These two seem to be drawn toghether already, although for different purposes.)

Wine let out a slight breath, content with whatever "sooner than you think" meant. Without So Sweet, she savored the idea of having someone on her side. Even someone as fickle and untrustworthy as a demon. She stepped back slightly as he told her she was free to go. If any other lion had instructed her to carry out a small task for them, she would have spat and told them to do it themselves. But she felt she was eager to know what Morpheus wanted of her, so she simply nodded. "I'll be here."

She paused as Morpheus told her of the danger of the spirits outside. She looked at the stone in his paw, waiting for something to happen to it. She was geared for something sudden and alarming.

(That was the clue you were talking about, right? And I think that either way, or even both ways, works fine. I mean, besides that, love isn't always totally involved in these things.)

Morpheus clenched his grip firmly around the stone, before his paw erupted in flames. Once he opened his paw, the previously unremarkable stone now had flames licking it's surface. It looked like a small piece of a fallen star caught ablaze. The daemon presented it to Wine, gently taking one of her paws and placing the charred stone in it. The flames didn't burn, they were cold, almost like ice itself.

"Hold it in front of you whenever you hear the spirits coming closer. It should keep them away." He said to her, his gaze meeting hers. His eyes were mesmerazing, like bright flames in a pyre. "Be safe" He whispered in her ear before letting go of her paw, his voice sweet like honey.

(It could be. And who said anything about love? Morpheus can't exactly feel romantic love as a daemon, or perhaps he doesn't want to. Although he is making it seem to Wine as though he cares about her but only for his own purposes. It depends if Wine actually falls for it or not, however, judging by the fact that they are to have a cub together)

Wine didn't flinch this time, but watched the stone burn with some fascination. It was rather like a coal, which her pride would light for sacred ceremonies, but there was something more mystical about it. As he placed the stone in her paw, she braced herself for the burning heat, but instead it was cold, so cold it sent little pinpricks of stinging pain across her paw pad. She adjusted to it quickly, though, and examined the rock in her paw.

"Thank you, Morpheus," she said, though it didn't sound entirely sincere. She was still fascinated by the object in her grasp, but she looked up as she felt Morpheus's eyes on her. "I will," she replied, leaning in a bit closer. She paused a moment and backed towards the side of the cliff, starting to make her way down to Luna.

(Ahaha! Are you Polish?
Well, I meant love, attraction, romantic interest, etc. But sure, Wine's young and foolish enough, and Morpheus is very charming :)

Morpheus observed as Wine made her way down and out of the cave. It was only after he was sure she was gone that the gentle smile disapperead from his face, replaced by a mischievious and snarky grin.

"She is very naive, isn't she?" Anaideia said to him, her gaze still focused on the exit where Wine left. Her claws scratched at the rock underneath her, as she thought of the corpse of her own daughter laying in that narrow tunnel passage.

"You have clearly chosen a very good lioness this time" The daemon took a glance at her "Well then, you have fufilled your part of the deal. You can return home now" The dream demon stepped down to Anaideia's level, before walking into the mist and out of sight.

The achromia lioness stood there for a moment. She knew what she wanted to do. Slowly, as if crossing some sort of barrier, she walked into the tunnel until Bastet's body came into view. She sat herself next to it, nuzzling the now cold corpse.

"I'm so sorry..." She whispered to her deceased daughter, although she knew she couldn't hear her.

It was time. The lioness known to most as Luna began to dissolve into golden dust. Before she was completely gone, she blew some of the dust onto Bastet's body, making it turn to golden dust just like her. In a blink of an eye, both were gone.

(No cóż, masz mnie moja droga As for Wine and Morpheus, I think we are decided on the type of relationship these two would have)

(Hee hee! Success! Although I have to ask, why are people surprised by that? Poland isn't that shocking :)

So, it looks like this little leg of the story has wrapped up. I didn't want to move forward yet, since we agreed we'd combine my, yours, and Valor's storylines at this point. We up for doing that pretty soon? You two at a good stopping point?)

(Well, it applies more to meeting me in person. I've met people who say I sound British and others say I have an American accent XD Out of curiosity, do you know anything about Poland other than the fact that it exists?

Yup, pretty much. As for me and Valor, well our contact has come to a standstill as of late, but I plan on reviving it soon. I'll let you know once we are ready for the next part.)

(Ah, I see. I do know a few things about Poland. I know people speak Polish there :) Kidding, kidding. I know what countries it borders, some Polish dishes, that it's mostly Roman Catholic, that Krakow is there, a bit of basic history, and I've seen some traditional clothing. So not that much, no.

(That is surprisingly a lot. I've met people who knew literally nothing about Poland, or even that it exists in the first place. So yeah, you are pretty educated compared to them XD

(Well, considering it's a country in the world I exist in, I really should know more. But I'm glad you don't find me totally incompetent :)

First of all, I love Midsummer's decor! She looks awesome! And her description is great. I like your simple and elegant to solution to how she wound up in the pride. I also love the little blurb at the bottom. It's such a great image for her. I see she has a little cubbin as well. Thinking of keeping her?
As for Two, I was going to sell her, but changed my mind. Having a Divine-base lioness who's not related to either of my kings is always good, so I'm gonna keep her in my side pride.)

I'm glad you like her! I had a bit of a hard time thinking of how to make things work in the story with her, eventually deciding on the easiest way to go around it. Btw, that primal male that is mentioned in her description is in fact Alnair. She might've seen some traumatizing things indeed )
