Hey!
So, February has a lot of sexual art. For many users, it is awkward, uncomfortable, and/or disturbing to see. I am proposing an in-game toggle that just removes the art from these encounters but keeps the text. So, for instance, the mating achromatic and melanistic lion decor would just show the explore biome background and no character art, but would still show the usual text and options.

I am aware that there is a tutorial on the wiki (https://www.lioden.wiki/blocking-images) to block the sexual images. However, many other users probably are not, and it is not stated on any event posts or on the event page. This method also requires an extension to be downloaded, and will not work on mobile. I know several lioden players, myself included, that play on mobile and would really like to stop seeing all that. Yes, this game is 16+, and no genitalia is shown, but users can still feel uncomfortable with it.

There are already in-game toggles for a variety of things, like pregnant images, custom decor on lions, and of course the marking censor. There is also the opportunity to opt out of the event entirely, but seeing as not all of the encounters are sexual and the event is a major money maker for players I don't think it's a valid option for people just interested in losing the sexual art.

To restate - a toggle, perhaps on the event page or on your user profile, that gives the option to remove sexual images from explore encounters. If not that, a link to the wiki page about blocking images would be nice on the news post or event page.

I'm not sure how difficult this idea would be to implement, but I think it might be a good thing to think on for future Feb events!

Additional suggestions!

From Lunarmoon - the mating encounter is hidden behind a bush
From Taevali - the mating encounter is replaced by a black screen or a nsfw warning to prevent the player from skipping over the encounter by accident
From Fern [side] - this toggle or another one would also block out extreme gore like that seen in the March event

To restate, this would be a TOGGLE, so users that prefer the explore to be the same would simply not turn the toggle on. It would not affect their gameplay in any way.

This suggestion has 716 supports and 96 NO supports.

"Ah well, they didn't vote for this (because they don't want us delaying promised art any longer) so everything is fine!"

Honestly, at this point I don't think anything should be done about this until the recode is done.
The users want a toggle. I don't really care about it, but I'm not against people that do.
Thing is, you will not be getting a toggle for February this year, or a rehaul of the art or whatever like the poll suggests. There is just not the time to do that before Feb pulls up.
So, why even bother with any of it until the new site is done? Surely it will be in the next year or two.

While I fully agree that tbh, the event should just be left alone so that they can have as many hands as possible recoding the site and handling the things that can't be fixed with a browser extension, event turn off, privacy screen, etc etc etc, it's definitely not going to be done within the next year or two. If it is, I'd be stunned.

Then why bring it up in the news post? They just seem to keep piling on more stuff that they PROMISE they'll do. I think everyone would be fine if they said "We understand this is an issue, but we are currently busy and will address it with the recode"

Most likely to cut down on the amount of repeat suggestions (normally by the same four people) about changing the event. They potentially also needed something to make a poll about. Boom, two birds, one stone. Besides, just because its in a poll doesn't mean itll be added to the workload. I can ask you all if I should write a novel on greek mythos, or if I should write about egyptian mythos....but I could still sit there and write my own mythos regardless of outcome. Past that, polls like that which gauge interest are a common thing, both on here and in general. With my own site and programs, I still open semi-regular polls to gauge interest for future potential changes for after I deal with the things that matter more. That's completely normal. Also allows you to preset new programming and storylines to allow for those potential changes in the future when the more pressing things have actually been handled.

no seriously, the dev team needs to stop putting extra charges one thier shoulders, giving promises and then not being able to fulfill them in the time they've said the features would be out is... really depressing. they should take the workload they can handle and leave it at that!

Quantum-
While this means nothing in lioden standards (looking at you, male pose), they've been working on recodeing for around 4 years now, with a lot of progress supposedly happening this year. I think 5-6 years is a reasonable time lol. But really who knows.

Firenyko-
I have the feeling that even if they did address it like that, players would still be upset. Probably even moreso. I do think they should have included that coding the toggle wasn't feasible in the main post instead of xylax making a comment, but I think that was an after thought. The poll is just there to get a community input, it doesn't really mean anything.

Xylax's comment was buried basically instantly. I saw it and don't even remember what page it was on.

Happy for everyone getting this added. Looks like this is a streamlined way to handle it. Wonder if they might be able to eventually port it over to the catalog for items and such so players can just go thru and toggle on a block for stuff they don't wanna see.

Thanks for doing the best you can with the janky old code, devs! Much appreciation. Once I've blocked everything at home I can explore at work without my nosy coworkers asking questions they will not buy the explanation for. :D
