Hey! So, February has a lot of sexual art. For many users, it is awkward, uncomfortable, and/or disturbing to see. I am proposing an in-game toggle that just removes the art from these encounters but keeps the text. So, for instance, the mating achromatic and melanistic lion decor would just show the explore biome background and no character art, but would still show the usual text and options. I am aware that there is a tutorial on the wiki (https://www.lioden.wiki/blocking-images) to block the sexual images. However, many other users probably are not, and it is not stated on any event posts or on the event page. This method also requires an extension to be downloaded, and will not work on mobile. I know several lioden players, myself included, that play on mobile and would really like to stop seeing all that.  Yes, this game is 16+, and no genitalia is shown, but users can still feel uncomfortable with it. There are already in-game toggles for a variety of things, like pregnant images, custom decor on lions, and of course the marking censor. There is also the opportunity to opt out of the event entirely, but seeing as not all of the encounters are sexual and the event is a major money maker for players I don't think it's a valid option for people just interested in losing the sexual art. To restate - a toggle, perhaps on the event page or on your user profile, that gives the option to remove sexual images from explore encounters. If not that, a link to the wiki page about blocking images would be nice on the news post or event page. I'm not sure how difficult this idea would be to implement, but I think it might be a good thing to think on for future Feb events! Additional suggestions! From Lunarmoon - the mating encounter is hidden behind a bush From Taevali - the mating encounter is replaced by a black screen or a nsfw warning to prevent the player from skipping over the encounter by accident From Fern [side] - this toggle or another one would also block out extreme gore like that seen in the March event To restate, this would be a TOGGLE, so users that prefer the explore to be the same would simply not turn the toggle on. It would not affect their gameplay in any way. |

Firenkyo, the problem is one toggle will create a precedent, and ALL people wanting toggles will go rabid over trying to have their uncomfortable content be toggleable also, and that is just too many toggles for admins to add. However times you people might say "sexual content is more disturbing than spiders/snakes/holes/gore/anything else" - NO it is NOT more disturbing. Its a personal preference. For you its disturbing, for me its like watching a glimpse of documentary, Ive watched hundreds of them, I dont even pay mind to mating animals. This content is not disturbing for me, but holes are, Im trypophobic - seeing an insect-ridden corpse makes me flinch. But I just block the image in my browser and move on, because I understand - admins cannot possibly add a toggle for every single thing people might find disturbing. They just cant, only YOU on your end can make it customisable enough with image blockers  And yes there is one for every kind of mobile, too. Queen Hanji, I’d agree with your point about leaving if elements of a game make you uncomfortable, but lioden isn’t primarily focused on sex or gore. For most events and normal encounters, there’s none or very minimal of each (gore is more prevalent, sexual art is seen only in Feb and 1 April encounter). Since this is an animal sim and breeding game first, it makes sense that a person wouldn’t leave the game due to a month of encounters. Plus, Feb being the biggest money maker 0 players like this post! Like? |

I never said that sexual content or gore was more disturbing than other phobias. I said that there is a higher number of players find gore and sexual content uncomfortable. And believe me, I know plenty about specific phobias. I have a severe fear of vomiting and being ill that's being managed by medication (going on 8 years I think!). Am I asking for any vomit related encounters to be removed? No, because it's a niche fear and I understand that most players do not have an issue with it. I can simply skip over the encounters or block the images myself. However, the amount of lioden players that have expressed discomfort with sexual content is pretty high, and I think that lioden should take that into consideration. In lioden's official wiki page on blocking images, it does have sections for images other than gore or sex, such as cthonic snakes, arachnids, ticks, locusts, and bats. My original suggestion was just for mating February encounters, but others suggested a larger toggle including gore. It seems like lioden already acknoledges soem of the more common phobias. Personally, I am not upset by sexual encounters or gore. I watch documentaries, own animals, and work with animals (and I think the lab I work at will start a mite breeding program soon..). I just find the encounters dumb with the "haha omg SEX" humor and I don't like playing lioden in public for those reasons. But I think that there should be an in-game option to toggle them. And not to sound rude, but...who cares if people make other suggestions for triggers? Either they get rejected or added. Either way, it doesn't effect me at all. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I like this, and I think a simple 'toggle event images in explore' option would cover all the ground. People could then turn it on/off in accordance to whatever month adds the most of whatever they don't fancy seeing, or don't want passerby glancing at when they're not playing at home, whether it's gore, mating animals, or creepy creatures. Yes, that leaves some of the regular encounters with spiders and such non-toggle-able, but that's beyond the scope of this suggestion. So that players don't skip by event content by accident due to lack of image, a cute placeholder to indicate it's not a skip-able 'explore explore explore' page would do the trick-- maybe a hyena with one paw over its eyes and the other out to cover 'yours' to symbolize the blocked image? 3 players like this post! ignore the pm i sent you, ima just post this anyways <3 What am I proposing is this.  As you can see above, this is where the Account Options is. So there, as like on friend requests, there could be a, as offered on the thread linked above, "toggle" where it says maybe something like "sexual image" and you can choose. And, in February, the text will be there, but it won't load up. Example (though this is non-sexual and taken from the wiki)  Like that. Please let me know constructive criticism and if you don't think it's OK and why 3 players like this post! Like? |

Going to say support! I play in lecture / on the bus a lot, and a toggle would be very much appreciated because otherwise I don't play in public during feb / if I do it's the internal praying of 'please not that encounter please not that encounter-' I also would appreciate the filter personally, because I just don't want to see that lmao 0 players like this post! Support- I'd also love a way to toggle the horrifying and disturbing March event art. I haven't been active during that month yet, and have been afraid to ever since I saw a single explore encounter on the wiki while seeing if there was a storyline for that month. Some of us don't WANT to see bloody, grotesque headless elephants. I'm surprised this option isn't already in the game! 0 players like this post! Like? |
