In the Pridelands, Uru was on a daily Princess lesson with her father King Mohatu, she knew that these lessons on becoming the next Queen of the Pridelands were important, but did they have to be so boring. She would rather be of playing with her best friends, than be in some lesson. But having respect for the wisdom and knowledge of her father, she decided to stick it out a little longer.

Ahadi looked at his mother worriedly knowing that she'd probably not make it and he'd be on his own. She had taught him how to hunt in case anything were to happen to her however he only knew how to hunt small animals since as mouse like things. He sat beside her watching her closely hoping that she'd be alright.

"Finally" Uru thought to herself, when her father dismissed her at end of her lesson. She could finally go find her 4 best friends to play with. After nuzzling her father lovingly, she ran hurriedly to the waterhole, where she knew her friend would be waiting for her. Running all the way from Priderock, she reached the waterhole just before noon. There she found, Kawaii a prune lioness cub with blue eyes, Hikari an albino with onyx shoulders lioness cub with white eyes, Nikumu, another prune lioness cub with white eyes and white speckled and Nikumu's twin Ongaku, who looks exactly like Nikumu. All of the 4 sisters were playing among themselves but being watched by there very protective mother Hono a fiery lioness with white eyes.

Just before reaching the area where her friends were playing Uru had a brilliant idea. She stopped and hid in the nearby bushes waiting for her moment to strike. Her target was Nikumu.

Ahadi wondered what he should do since he knew he couldn't leave his mother and he didn't know this place at all and he had learnt that some lions still followed the old terditions of killing cubs that weren't theirs. He laid down beside her thinking about what could happen to them.

Uru waited patiently in the bushes near the 4 sisters finally her target was in range, with one mighty leap Uru pounced on the unknowing Nikumu.
Nikumu let out a scream of surprise, before landing in a heap in a nearby mud puddle, with a very proud Uru on her back. On hearing their sister scream, Hikari, Ongaku, Kawaii as well as their mother Hono come over to investigate. By this time Nikumu had already spun round and glared at Uru.
"What did you do that for Uru?" Nikumu half shouted at her. Uru was shocked at this from Nikumu who never shouted at her before.
"I'm sorry Nikumu, I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to practise my hunting skills that's all" Uru replied calmly but close to tears.
"Yeah, well go practise your so called hunting skills on someone else Uru!" Nikumu shouted.
"Nikumu, honey calm down and don't speak to the princess in that manner" Hono scolded her daughter. Nikumu stated a half felt sorry to Uru, the stormed of back to her den.
"Don't worry Uru, she will calm down soon enough" Hono reassured the princess before going off to find Nikumu.
Hikari, Kawaii, and Ongaku decided to cheer Uru up, by doing what they all loved, exploring

Ahadi heard something going on however he didn't move, he wanted to go see what was going on however he was scared to. He looked at his mother before noticing that she wasn't apart of the living any more and he knew he'd have to leave her now other wise he wouldn't survive. He got to his paws and slowly walked away from his mother. A tear ran down his face.

Uru, Hikari, Ongaku and Kawaii soon forgot about the argument with Nikumu, and soon lost themselves in the exploration of the Northern Border. A forbidden place that Uru had learn about from her Father and mother Sekai. Uru was warned never to go there alone as the lands beyond where a horrible place filled with savage hyenas, and rogue lions who would kill you on site, no matter who you are. Uru just could not resist such a place and decided it would be a great idea to explore with her friends.

The 4 friends soon started a fun game of tag. Uru was it. She soon was going to tag Kawaii, when she heard a faint crying sound. She stopped her game. "Uru, what's wrong? Why did you stop?" Hikari asked.

"Did you 2 hear that?" Uru asked the 3 sisters.

Ongaku the second eldest and the most responsible replied, "Uru you must be hearing things, but let's get out of here, before something finds us."

Uru heard it again but this time it was a bit louder. She could not help herself and went looking for the sound, with Hikari, Kawaii and Ongaku following close behind. Uru was walking silently through the grass, not before coming across a gruesome sight. A deceased lioness, with an infected swollen leg.
Kawaii hid behind Hikari and Ongaku, immediately bursting into tears. "Uru we should go, it's not safe here."
"Your right Ongaku" Uru said, but she saw a figure in the distant walking towards the Pridelands border.
"Hey you wait!" She yelled, running after the figure with the 3 sisters behind

Ahadi walked around wondering where to go however it wasn't long before he ran into trouble. Hyenas spotted him and smirked not knowing what to do Ahadi just ran as fast as he could away from them, he could feel his heart beating quickly as the hyenas started to catch up to him, he was slow for his age and knew he would probably get caught if something didn't happen.

Uru was running as fast as she could with, Hikari, Ongaku and Kawaii following close behind her. Uru was focused on catching up with the mysterious figure she had saw after finding the dead lioness. She was getting closer, Hikari cried out, "URU LOOK HYENAS!"
Uru skied to a stop while the other 3 crashed in the back of her and low and behold she saw hyenas chasing a scrap of yellow fur with the begins of a black mane.
Uru could see that the figure was a yellow cub being chased by a pack of hyenas. She knew she had to do something but what, if she went to help the cub she could get herself killed, but on the other paw, if she got her father, she knew she would get herself and her friends in serious trouble.
Kawaii asked her, "What are we going to do Uru? We can't just leave the cub to get killed."
"I know that Kawaii." She replied. Uru quickly formed a plan in her mind. She knew what she had to do, and it had to be done fast, even if she and her friend got into heaps of trouble.

Ahadi kept running before long he found a small cave/den that he could get into since he was small enough but the hyenas couldn't get into, he slipped inside and hoped that the hyenas would go away. He tried to get as small as he could while the hyenas tried to get inside by trying to make the small hole bigger.

Hikari mentioned to Uru while they where running to the location of the hyenas, that the yellow cub went into that small cave and that the hyenas where trying to dig him out.
"Right girls you know the plan." Everyone just gave Uru a blank stare.
"Okay then I will tell you one more time." Uru said a little frustrated.
"Kawaii as you are the fastest runner, you will go a get my father and the rest of the pride and do not lie to him, that is very important." Uru had to state that as Kawaii has a habit to lie to stay out of trouble.
"Hikari, you and Ongaku will get the hyenas attention, while I will get the cub. Okay everyone understood."
"Yes Uru" the 3 chimed together. "Okay on my signal, GO"

Kawaii run for the border, even though she was small, Kawaii was the fastest runner out of all the cubs in the pride.
Hikari and Ongaku made it there job to grab the hyenas tails and not let go. The hyenas growled and whimpered in pain.
The 2 sisters let go of the hyenas tails, just long enough to make fun of the hyenas. Naturally the hyenas started to chased them instead, giving Uru plenty of time to rescue the frighten cub from the cave.

Ahadi heard sounds from outside and he didn't know what was going on but he didn't want to move from where he was hiding since it seemed probably the safer option since it was clear nothing unless it was a size of a cub could get in. He could fell his heart beating quickly from fright.

Uru had plenty of time, as the hyenas were to busy chasing Hikari ans Ongaku, so when Uru saw an opening she took it. She dived into the cave, only to be met by a clawed paw from a terrified yellow male cub.
She could see that he was skinny as if he hadn't eaten in a long while, he had bright green eyes were wide with fear and glistened with unshed tears. She could see the make of a jet black mane.

She tried her best to reassure the cub that everything would be okay. But he didn't reply, only to put his head in his paws and tremble.

I stayed where I was not moving, I couldn't not when this cub's father could be around after all he knew males in prides would kill cubs that weren't theirs as this happened when he was younger. He remembered his father being killed by two younger males who wanted to take the pride for them selves.

Uru

I stayed by this cubs side. I continued to tell him that everything will be okay and soon he will be safe. I think that I was tell more of myself than him.

All of a sudden I heard mighty roars coming from outside. I knew the all the roars, and knew that I was going to be in huge trouble. I first heard my dad's roar and then him shouting at the hyenas to leave the cubs alone. I heard my mum also growling and then heard her calling for me and she sound frantic. I had no choice but to come out of the cave, but I stayed where I was. I heard Kawaii's sobbing cries as Hono was scolding her daughter's.

It wasn't until I heard dad's mighty voice demanding that I come out from where I was hiding at once. I knew now I had no choice. I said to the cub come out as well.
