Credits to Dawnstar. [Lilac] (#51049) for helping me think of this

I know that I've had this problem recently, and I'm like 100% positive other people had too.

Basically, I was harassed, threatened, and called slurs. And while I did report it (Of course!) It took a day before it was even claimed, leaving me feeling really unsafe.

This user was also reported by a few people who chose to defend me, but I didn't feel like the situation had been dealt with. (Though it has since I originally posted this, so don't worry!)

So my idea is this:

There should be certain words in the modbox that would trigger Mods to come look at them. The words would be stuff like:

"Kill"
"Threaten"
"Harassment"
Etc.

Janxxy (#61852) suggested that there be a subgroup in the Modbox where you'd report these types of things, so that smaller issues like minor ToS breaking and stuff don't get pushed back.

Gnarlandis (#66351) suggested that, rather than have to report a whole thread, you should be able to report a single post.

"I'm not sure if someone said this already, but mods should also add derogative slurs to the list, such as homophobic slurs/racist slurs/ableist slurs. I know that Lioden strives for a safe community where everyone, regardless of identity, is equal, and I believe that adding oppressive/discriminative slurs to the blacklist would help. :D" - Halt (#79087)

EDIT; Thank you everyone for the 200 supports! I can't believe how fast the supports added up!

This suggestion has 421 supports and 24 NO supports.

I fully support this idea. There's horrible things some people say, and in no way should it be on a community game. We're supposed to make friends, learn, improve, and have fun. I'm hoping they will implement this, because no one deserves to be harassed and hurt while trying to relax and get away from stress, which most people come here to do.

Thank you so much for your support! I'm just glad that I'm strong enough to deal with that stuff. Hopefully this idea will get implemented so people who get harassed and threatened can begin to feel safer within a few hours!

Support!
I like Janxxy's idea. That way there is no "priority" to tickets (for the most part).
Might mean more mods might have to be hired, or they'll be spread a little thin, however.
But this is certainly easy enough to implement.

I know! It's a great idea! Janxxy is a genius 0.0

My hope is that they'll hire more mods, they're already stretched thin enough as it is

I just wanted to post to say that bug reports generally don't go into modbox (those go in bug boards) unless it's game breaking/can be abused and/or replicated easily.

I just want to say that during handling a person who is breaking rules such a harassment, while investigation is in process, chat/forum bans are a precaution to prevent further problems.

While I appreciate the suggestion and so forth, modbox isn't an alertbox, and our staff isn't online 24/7, we have a lot of mods but I agree we might need more, I am hiring more mods while some quit. It's not easy.

If something is EXTREMELY urgent you can always PM me - I check my messages over modbox with priority.

I'd also ask to not discuss or blackmouth other players by name or how are they handled, because that's a gangup and I'd rather avoid the mob with torches situations.
The best thing to do is always reporting things to us and remembering mods are people too and can't always be online 24/7. Block people, report, and be patient. We'll do our best.

That's true.
But most people's concern is that: you and other 'popular' people (that is, mods, helpers, admins) are bombarded with not only bug reports, player concerns, etc, but also just fanmail and stuff (in our minds, anyway; I have no idea how accurate this is).
It would give many of us a lot of security if we knew there was a place where this kinda stuff was THE FOCUS, instead of just another message in the pile, whether we're a victim or just someone who's empathetic to this kinda thing.

I don't think it's accurate about the PM thing, we get PMs with user issues (sometimes some nice PM but that takes short time to read and reply really). I get about 10-20 PM's daily about all sorts of problems, and if my PC doesn't BSOD or I am unable to get online I handle everything few times a day.

THE FOCUS is modbox, always cause everyone in staff can see it and the alerts inside - can't help if a moderator is online on mobile at work or somewhere, to watch chat and can't handle issues at that moment :c I do agree that this is a nice suggestion, though, specially a sub-modbox where harassment would go so we'd get big red letters to prioritize

there's no "pile", we see the modbox very clearly and we check everything inside before we claim an issue as well. If a moderator feels like they can't handle something because of I dunno, personal connection to the player, or being mobile, or anything, they just won't claim it, I cannot help it, we're just humans >< it will get claimed, hopefully asap

Ah I have an idea for this if its ok for me to chime in?

In the subject of the chat, would it be possible to maybe install a mod-bot that would warn and mute members if they say certain words or phrases a certain number of times? Of course it'd only be active if a mod is not in that chat and the mods/admins would simply send it a command to turn it on and off. I'm not sure how this would work in the current lioden chat (as I'm not exactly someone who uses said chat like at all) but I've seen it work in chatrooms on different websites so if it's not implementable now it could be in the future if Lioden ever changes their chat?

It'd keep very toxic people away from the members and it would give the mods some peace of mind. As I've worked as a admin on different websites and its a very stressful and sometime thankless job, especially when the members expect you to do everything they want you to. So like Xylax said, a mod on the site can't always help you cause they are only human and they have their own lives and personal issues to deal with along with taking care of and running the site. But perhaps with some coding we could help an issue like this a lil bit without adding more stress to the poor mod team. Then again I've never worked with any coding like this so it might not exactly be easy to implement.
