Credits to Dawnstar. [Lilac] (#51049) for helping me think of this

I know that I've had this problem recently, and I'm like 100% positive other people had too.

Basically, I was harassed, threatened, and called slurs. And while I did report it (Of course!) It took a day before it was even claimed, leaving me feeling really unsafe.

This user was also reported by a few people who chose to defend me, but I didn't feel like the situation had been dealt with. (Though it has since I originally posted this, so don't worry!)

So my idea is this:

There should be certain words in the modbox that would trigger Mods to come look at them. The words would be stuff like:

"Kill"
"Threaten"
"Harassment"
Etc.

Janxxy (#61852) suggested that there be a subgroup in the Modbox where you'd report these types of things, so that smaller issues like minor ToS breaking and stuff don't get pushed back.

Gnarlandis (#66351) suggested that, rather than have to report a whole thread, you should be able to report a single post.

"I'm not sure if someone said this already, but mods should also add derogative slurs to the list, such as homophobic slurs/racist slurs/ableist slurs. I know that Lioden strives for a safe community where everyone, regardless of identity, is equal, and I believe that adding oppressive/discriminative slurs to the blacklist would help. :D" - Halt (#79087)

EDIT; Thank you everyone for the 200 supports! I can't believe how fast the supports added up!

This suggestion has 421 supports and 24 NO supports.

Thank you, Xy, for giving input on this!

I understand that the mods are people, and obviously their own lives would take priority, but with my situation it was even a day before the issue was claimed, where the user had been harassing me and threatening to kill me. And even now, with screenshots, other reports, etc. It's still only being investigated. And I understand that yall want to make sure that you look at everything, and I'm grateful that yesterday another mod messaged me letting me know that the situation was being dealt with, in the meantime I just don't feel very safe. This situation has been going on/off for the past few months (Though they only recently starting actually giving me death threats), and on the topics where they were harassing me, the mods only locked the thread.

I know that for right now, the user has a chat ban, so they can't talk to me, but that'll be over by tomorrow, and I'm worried about what they'll say to me once they get off the chat ban.

But I agree that the chat box thing wouldn't work, it'd be better just to have a mod or admin looking at it at much as possible

While this makes sense, Murder is too common a word to be included I think, I use the word murder myself when talking about lions or explore events and other game related stuff

And they're mad because they got their credit removed for a project (They didn't write anything for it, and only contributed like one idea) since they're an art thief.

Mostly they were trying to give away/sell art that wasn't theirs (One piece was lion king concept art, they really weren't subtle)

This isn't a discussion board, moderators are observing and taking care of any issues. No need to argue, this is a suggestion thread and I'd love to keep it that way, civil and thoughtful

@Qetzel
Again, this isn't just for normal chats. These are words that, when used in a report to the modbox, would alert mods to look at it.

Having trigger words for just regular forum/chat posts is illogical, since the context of the word wouldn't be included

i'm torn on this from previous experiences with this kind of automated modding, because all kinds of words can be used to create a malicious meaning and similarly, words like "murder" can be used to discuss something bad that happened without it being a personal attack. If these words become moderated, these bullies will just stop using them and come up with other words, until random words who have a small chance for being used for bad intents are 'flashlights' for mods and even though it may hinder bullies and such people a bit, it will also be a very big obstacle for talking normally in chatrooms. If chatroom, forums etc are going to be 100% safe, a moderator would have to look through every. single. thing that is posted by any user, ever, and it would be incredibly time-consuming :/

No, no. Like I've said before, these words would only be triggers when used in the title/content of a modbox report. Not in normal forum posts and the chatbox.

Example:

Title: "User threatened to kill me!" (Death threat)
Content: "So and so user has been harassing me on my art thread!"

The bolded words would somehow alert a mod to look at it (Either putting up a red flag, or keeping it at the top of the list until the issue is claimed, or whatever else)

Hmm but isn't that about what happens when you file any type of reports to the modbox? i don't think they'd reply any faster, they probably get a LOT of things to deal with and some of these reports could even be fake, used to target someone.... Mods already look at things as fast as they can :)
