Riding is too expensive for me :( Have you always admired horses: Always, ever since I was born :3 Other Pets: one dog, one cat (soon will have one more ^^), and a rabbit Other: I'm 19, I've always been drawing and currently studying to become an artist. So far I've studied 4 years to become a fashion designer and the next two years I'll be spending studying to become an animator - hopefully will study the same thing in university. :3 I like books and even tried writing which - if my free time wilkl allow me to, I'll be practicing again. At the moment I'm writing my finals and trying to study as hard as I can. - I'm glad that I've been accepted as a member to this clan! :3 0 players like this post! I have an ad which I guess some of you would be interested in. I've already told you about how much I love drawing in my first post. I especially love drawing horses and I draw quite a lot of them, all breeds from Arabian Thoroughbreds to Shire horses. My art style is mainly realistic, but I can always try new styles. I can draw headshots or your RP characters' lovely companions, or even can try antropomorph ones. Though if you want a portrait of your real life I'm willing to take a request for such an art aswell. I can make both digital and traditional art - I have a little bit more practice in traditional art and have quite a few kinds of paints, inks pencils, etc. (Aquarelle (paint and pencil), pastel, watercolor, clack ink, etc.) Here are a few references that gives you an idea of my usual drawing style (if you need more horses, I can upload a lot :D) : Lioden thread My Tumblr page 0 players like this post! Welcome everyone! I'll add that momentarily Kitsu, gotta check it out myself! I apologize for my inactivity, I have a topic that might Kickstart this thread again -I edited the pic for privacy reasons, dont want it on google- That's Eviee, my grand She's been around people so she's not terrified of them. If she's next to her mother she'll let you scratch her back and butt. Outright approaching her is out of her zone, she'll trot off. Being a trainer myself, I have tried every trick I know. I'm sure time would do a good deal for her, as long as I'm persistent I'm positive she will eventually trust me enough to stand for lovings, muzzle pats and belly rubs. And a halter eventually. But for now, anyone have experience with foals (or distrustful adults) that they would like to share a story of? Share it! Let's talk! 0 players like this post! Thank you very much! ^^ What a beauty! *-* I do have a rather short story myself. The first time I rode a horse I was lucky enough to ride a beautiful mare who foaled a few months before that. The owner allowed me to ride her and bring treats for her in return (like carrots and apples). The mare was a crossbred but the father of the foal was a Friesian. The foal was called Diamond and she was unimaginably cute. Though she's had a very bad temper obviously because she didn't want her mom to care about anybody else but her and well, they were always together when I was learning how to ride. At the first times she tried jumping on her mum's butt to bite me or just trying to kick my ankle, but I always groomed her a little after the riding lesson because she loved being scratched all over. After a while we grew to become a good team and she even allowed me to hug her or lift her legs. Unfortunately the same year the owner of the mare and the foal had to sell them and I've never seen them ever since... :( 0 players like this post! Like? |

1. @Kitsu your art is amazing!! 2. I work off my board at a TB farm and we get in 15 or so weanlings in September then (depending on what sells) we get another 15 or so short yearlings in February. Lots of them are very wild still. I've personally found that treats, scratches, and talking sweet work wonders on flighty horses. Also the more they are up around people doing everyday farm stuff the less afraid they are of us. All the babies seem to love me cause I know the good scratchy spots! 0 players like this post! I've trained at 8 different barns in my life and ridden at least once a week since I was 6 but never seen a foal  the youngest I've seen was at a ranch once, a foal probably around 7 months and he was the cutest thing ever.. hopefully I go somewhere with some babies one day lol. 0 players like this post! That is so freaking sad kitsu :( the father to the foal is my (now gelded) darling youngest horse Ezio. We had Ezio's full brother, but he had to be put down due to a twisted gut. It's really sad, seeing how gorgeous Ezio has come to be, his brother would have been the same. Well, for an update, after days of persisting I pat our foal's cheek today, scrubbed all over her neck, back, and belly, plus she almost ate out of my hand. That's progress! I have no idea what color this baby is going to be. You can see how dark she was when born, she faded off to a milk chocolate brown, and now she's starting to shed off and well. Yes, that is so sad to see a horse with such issues :( I just wish for Diamond and her mum to have good homes and hopefully none of them were sold so they'd become food in some way... It's depressing to think about how many things have horses done for humanity and still people consider them as a delicious dish instead of the part of their families. 0 players like this post!
