I'm always so jealous of people who's parents/ family have horses.. I haven't known too many QH's but the few that I have met have all been super sweet, very mellow horses

Do you own/work with any horses: Yes, at the moment I’m switching between a rhinelander named teddy and a Canadian warmblood named Phoenix, but am really hoping to fully lease Phoenix once his owner goes off to college <33

Have you always admired horses: yesss!! My family Is non-horsey so it was hard for me to get into it at first, but I was so glad when I discovered that I could take lessons

Other Pets: we have like 4 barn dogs and 6 barn cats, but I personally own 2 dogs(a husky and a beagle)

Other: I’ve been riding for about 3 years now, doing English style show jumping. This clan is really cool!! Can’t wait to meet u all

Thank you all! ^^ oh nooo D: do they usually just come and go? I’m really surprised ours don’t leave haha, my trainer found two puppies in the back of a hay truck and they’ve just kinda stuck around the barn ever since. The other dogs and cats just kinda decided to stay

When my trainer comes to the barn she brings her dog... but none of the barn owners/regulars bring their dogs/ have dogs. I WISH we were just finding puppies

I volunteer at a therapy center that has some regular dogs, including two poodles lol
They don’t stay there permanently, but one of them is always there on the days I have to be there ^.^

I think almost every time I've went out for a ride in the woods my mom's dog pack followed us honestly not that great, they would scare off the wildlife.

I remember once, something scared our mare out across the little creek that runs through their pasture. She went out and our heeler puppy followed her, barked at the horse a bunch, scared her off, and she had to carry him back up to the house. Then the same thing happened again, but this time it was a stray we were finding a home for who followed her. Made a huge racket, scared the mare off again. She eventually got everything back in order, but not before wading knee-deep in mud and getting mad at the dogs 😂
I love my dogs but they have a bit of a reputation with the cattle and horses

I actually had a horse related accident back in 2012 because of a dog one of my mom's mutts ran up and bit a hind leg of the green mare I was riding. Let's just say the horse jumped left, I fell right, and earned a trip to the ER with fractured bones in my right shoulder.

Oof, yeah, that sucks
We try to train ours not to nip legs and tails by groundworking the horses with the dogs around. They don’t like to get in trouble after a couple close calls with the stick & string.

It has been one of my worries that I would have a dog run up on me while riding, because it seems like a difficult thing to handle, especially if the dog gets excited or frightened. That sucks about your shoulder.. How was the rehab?

My mom has dogs come and go, they never learn a thing unfortunately.
Well, I missed my first day of high school as a freshman so I could be at a followup at the hospital XD I started my HS experience in a sling, it wasn't that bad though. If anything my teachers took pitty on me as I'm right handed, trying to do schoolwork was interesting.

8 years down the road certain movements irritate my shoulder, sometimes I have to take a break at work because it gets to hurting too bad. It's only certain things though so I rarely remember it.

I'm glad that it got better even though it's not perfect

It's definitely my dream to wind up at a barn where i can ride/train/generally be around the horses and have a dog and some cats. I think it makes for a more relaxing atmosphere actually (provided the dogs are well trained of course) because you can take breaks to play with dogs and kitties and I just love how wholesome it is
