Mintwhisper growls under her breath, but she can't deny that she didn't support what they were currently doing. "I wouldn't insult our leader like that, no matter what our opinion on his decision is." She give Ratpelt a sharp look. Just as she braced herself to launch at Owlflight a small voice cut through and her heart stopped. She looked behind her slowly, her ears flattening to her head. No wonder warriors didn't make friends with cats from other clans, but that wasn't important. Stonekit was out in the middle of a battle, a kit out while there was fighting.

She gaze turned soft and she spoke quietly, "Stonekit..." Guilt bubbled up in her chest, she never wanted him to see her this way but it was a warriors life-style. She turns completely away from Owlflight, probably not a smart move but she was focused on the grey kit in front of her. "I'm sorry Stonekit, I- I have a duty to my clan just as you do yours... This, this is just a part of being a warrior." She caught Stonekit's scruff as he turned away, lifting him up before dashing toward the bramble den. The least she could do was return him safely to the nursery, probably get attacked in the process but it was worth it. She set Stonekit down in front of the nursery, very aware of Lostsoul standing guard in front of it. "He escaped." She breathed, nervously eyeing the she-cat. "I don't want any kits getting hurt."

Maplepaw - 11 moons - Aether Apprentice - Healthy - Aetherclan camp - Mentions: Ratpelt, Stonekit, Mintwhisper, Owlflight, Briarpaw {NPC}, open


The tabby apprentice is instantly relieved when Owlflight returns to camp. His fierce battle cry shakes her to the bone and she's glad the tom is on her side. Maplepaw listens to Mintwhisper, Ratpelt, and the deputy banter for a bit before she has to interrupt. "Fernstar attack Terrastar? You have it twisted! Terrastar took one of Fernstar's lives! Your leader is the monster," she spits, still bitter about the Terraclan leader trying to tempt Stonekit into his clan so long ago.

Her fury is gone when Stonekit runs up to attack Mintwhisper and rekindled as the red warrior picks him up and carries him off. How dare the enemy touch her kit! Maplepaw abandons guarding the medicine den to charge at Mintwhisper, but she trips over another apprentice. She doesn't recognize the cat and hisses, lashing out. This cat is in her way!

With her mind not fully on the battle, Maplepaw falls victim to the other apprentice's moves. With a cry, she escapes and limps to the nursery. She has to make sure Stonekit was properly returned. Passing Lostsoul and Brierrose, Maplepaw sighs in relief that the kits all appear safe. Then she turns to Stonekit with a frown. "Stonekit! What were you thinking running out like that? You could have gotten hurt! Or worse!"

Too sore to continue scolding the grey tom, Maplepaw limps to a nest, needing to get off her paws. That other apprentice really tore her up, leaving bleeding scratches all over her shoulders, flank, and neck. Her left ear is bleeding and she's sure there is a notch in it now, but without the medicine cats, she has to deal with the blood and pain for now.

Stonekit froze as he was cought by the scent of this warrior who was causing so much turmoil in his mind. He didn't care if they were part of two clans, why couldn't they be friends? He just let himself be carried back to the nursery, the sound of the fighting cats blurred and faded into one sound. The voice of Mintwhisper repeating over and over 'this is just part if being a warrior' her voices fading in and out in his ears 'I don't want kits getting hurt' 'part of being a warrior' 'warrior' 'kit'. Whats the difference? "What's the difference!?" He yowled at Mintwhisper, whirling at her. "What's the difference between kits and warriors!? We're all cats!" He snorted, "Do you mean that when I become a warrior, you'll attack me!? Do you mean that when I grow up we'll be enemies!". Through all of this, his voice changed from more of an angry question to an accusation. His little body bristled and he showed his teeth. "Why is there a difference!!!".

Lostsoul - 14 moons - Warrior - Healthy - Temp Camp - Aether- Mentions: Maplepaw and Mintwhisper and Stonekit

Lostsoul let a red warrior by, the mysterious she-cat was holding Stonekit so it wasn't safe to attack her anyway. When the Terra she-cat came back out Lostsoul flicked her ear to say she had heard and finally looked away from the battle to look the cat in her eyes while she said, "Thank you, I have no idea how he got past me. It would help the kits safety greatly if you could try to keep the fighting away from here. I hope you don't mind if I shred anyone who tries to get in that I don't know." Lostsoul looked past who she will call Red, to see Maplepaw charging the nursery with a look of rage. "I suggest you leave unless you wanted to be shredded by Maplepaw, I won't attack you but she will. Bye Red!" With that Lostsoul shoved Red into a nearby bush and stood near her to mask her scent, effectively cutting off her conversation (more like argument) with Stonekit. As soon as Maplepaw got inside she followed. She had seen the blood driping down the apprentice's fur. She had no herbs, but she could stop the bleeding with some cobwebs that were bound to cluster around the edges of the den. She starts collecting cobwebs as she hears Maplepaw scold Stonekit. As soon as the young cat was done with her rant Lostsoul padded up to her and tripped her so she would lay down. Lostsoul pinned Maplepaw and treated her wounds using the pressure from pinning the smaller cat to snatch the blood. When that was done she made sure the cobwebs were securely attached. "Sorry I pinned you, but I wasn't sure if you would accept my help. Get out there and tell the other cats who are injured badly to come to the nursery so I can stop the bleeding. I can't do much else from lack of herbs and knowledge but hopefully that'll be enough till the med cats get back. Don't let any Terra cats know or else they'll target this place and we don't want to endanger the kits any more than they already are. Stay safe." With those words Lostsoul went back to her post just outside the den, constantly keeping an eye on the battle.

The red she-cat's ears lower as the kit in front of her melts down, this is why battles shouldn't be fought in camps she thought bitterly. She flinches at his voice, her mint green gaze sad. Did she have enough time to explain to Stonekit what it meant to live in different clans? With the way her heartstrings were being pulled she supposed she would make time, even if Terrastar would have her head for it. Composing herself she would speak, "Stonekit, it's true we are all cats..." She pauses as he continues, the truth in some of his words clear as day to her. "We live in different clans-" She's cut off as the warrior guarding the nursery shoves her into a bush. Caught off guard she rolls to the ground, well, that was one way of getting her back into the battle.

She peers out as Maplepaw stalks by and sighs, why was she trying so hard to keep a friendship with a few Aetherclan cats? They were always going to be enemies, especially after this battle. It wasn't like she could visit the border to talk to them. She slips out of the bush just as Lostsoul comes out of the nursery, raising a brow as she walks by. "Thanks blacky." She meows in an unsure tone. Was she going to get along every Aetherclan cat? That wouldn't work out too well for her heart. And why was the dark tabby she-cat helping her? A warrior who was a part of the clan currently attacking Aetherclan's camp. "Tell Stonekit I still want to be friends..? Maybe explain things to him..." She leaves after that, rushing to help Birchheart with a pretty patched she-cat.

Stonekit-4moons-Aetherclan kit-healthy-camp-mentions: Mintwhisper, and Maplepaw at the end

Stonekit heard Mintwhisper, but didn't want to hear any excuses. None of what was happening outside the nursery right now was okay. He shuffled back a few paces, then turned and headed for the nest in the farthest back corner of the nursery. He curled up into a tiny shivering ball and hid himself in the unused moss as best he could.
He didn't like what was happening and didn't want it to continue, but it would. He could do nothing about it. He was just.. Just a kit... He shut down, even his own thoughts were wrong.
He decided then and there that he would grow up and be the leader of AetherClan and Terraclan. Then there wouldn't have to be so much bad in the world. His vision faded to black as he layed there as still as his namesake. Just a small insignificant ball of fur.
Not even Maplepaw could make him smile again right now.

Ratpelt grunts at the kit. "What's the difference between kits and warriors, first off we're much smarter and stronger." He knows the kit is too far for him to hear the example but he can't help himself. Exactly why he couldn't stand little kits and more apprentices, they always thought they were older and were equal to older cats, not understanding how much they could get hurt. The short tomcat licks his scar that crosses over his mouth from as if it's a memento of reckless Candycane.

Doesong's eyes flick back to the red warrior approaching hastily. He nearly groans at the thought of fighting. Her adrenaline is starting to bleed out and she turns away from Birchheart. She calls for a clan member to quickly help, and luckily one came. Suntail heads for Birchheart and ends up tackling her. She gives the cat a thankful look before facing the red she-cat. Despite the TerraClan warrior's pelt color, Doesong could feel her ears grow hotter than the she-cat's fur. Gaging on her spit, the patched she-cat coughs loudly.

As Mintwhisper got closer she noticed that the light brown Aetherclan warrior had called for back up, a tom that was heading for Birchheart. She was about to intervene when she noticed that the patched she-cat was facing her. She was curious as to why the warrior would choose her as an opponent instead of Birchheart, she was sturdier than the Terraclan deputy and not as easily knocked over. She tilted her head as the warrior started to cough, but Birchheart was right there so she should probably start to attack. She blinked as she sized up her opponent, the she-cat was a lot prettier up close- nope! First Maple, then Stonekit, then Blacky, and now Pretty Patches?? She was a dead woman. Clearing her throat the red warrior charged, hoping to pin Doesong down.

Cherrykit heaved a sigh of relief as she was dropped off at the nursery and away from the battle, thanking Lostsoul she slipped inside. She heard voices outside and her worry grew as Stonekit walked in looking down. While the little calico wasn't the best at reading emotions it was apparent something happened. She quietly padded over and lay down next to him. "Hey Stonekit... You wanna talk about it? The battles pretty scary." She meowed with concern, before starting to groom his fur in hopes to comfort him.

Doesong looks back toBirchheart quickly as Suntail gets her. She hopes that the two won't finish so she can at least finish one cat to show off to Ravenkit her 'skills'. Doesong finishes coughing before looking back to the red she-cat. She's pinned down instantly before she attempts to pull her hind legs up to kick her in the chest as she was taught. She takes in the she-cats scent before attempting to attack. Pelt hot her legs, faulter to hit her chest before she ends up crawling from underneath the she-cat. She couldn't help but let out a hiss and fluff out, her short tail not helping her appearance.

As Mintwhisper pinned Doesong down she smiled, eyes darting around the warriors face for a moment. "Name's Mintwhisper, Pretty Patches." She blurted out before she could stop herself. Her eyes widened and she faltered right has Doesong kicked her in the stomach. Grunting the red warrior was knocked off of the stubby-tailed she-cat. Right, battle was no time to let her mouth run without a filter. She wasn't here to make friends, she was making enemies and trying to win a battle. When Doesong hissed at her Mintwhisper simply stuck her tongue out, "You going to make a move or should I take the lead again?" She purred with a wink, her flirt filter no where in sight.

Birchheart sneered at Doesong, unsheathing her claws and scraping the dirt. Her haunches reeled back, in preparation to pounce, but almost as soon as she did, she heard the Aetherclan Warrior yowl for help. She smiled wickedly, did she not have any confidence in her skills to take down two warriors? She had seen Mintwhisper creep up on the poor she cat.

She was suddenly shaken out of her thoughts when she was tackled to the ground. Her emerald eyes too a few minutes to adjust before focusing on The Aetherclan warrior that tackled her. She sneered at her opponent, then scratched the cats underbelly to escape. Once she did, she took an offensive stance, waiting for the next move.

Owlflight eventually began to drag his clanmate, ever so gently, to the Nursery to be looked after. He wasn't sure where their Medicine Cat was, but it would have to do to keep her away from the enemy for now. He walked back out of the den, shaking out his massive pelt before puffing up again. He bounded out into the camp again, fangs flashing dangerously and claws unsheathed.

Doesong begins to sputter on her words. "T-this is a battle take it more serious!" she exclaims through several stammers and avoiding any to all eye contact. Battling always made her uncomfortable but she still did it to protect her clanmates. The patched she-cat looks back up to the red she-cat, named Mintwhisker. "My name is Doesong," she eventually meows and feels incredibly awkward. Unsure what to do, she looks back to the cats fighting before the TerraClan warrior. "So, why are you guys attacking?" she asks quickly preparing herself for any type of attack.

Maplepaw - 11 moons - Aether Apprentice - Injured but had first aid - Aetherclan camp - Mentions: Lostsoul ID, Owlflight ID, Icestream ID, Fernstar ID, Risingstorm, open


Maplepaw is surprised when Lostsoul pins her, but if she is honest with herself, she wouldn't have accepted the warrior's help if she hasn't been. She waits a few moments for her wounds to scab up before she stands up. Lostsoul is right, someone needs to go tell the Aetherclan cats where they can get treated. Maplepaw glances in the direction of Stonekit, her heart clenching at his brokenhearted expression. It doesn't seem like Cherrykit is having much luck cheering him up.

The tabby pulls herself away, wanting to comfort her kit but needing to go back out into the fray. Maplepaw squares up her shoulders and walks out of the nursery, passing by Owlflight bringing Icestream in to be treated. She gives her mentor a nod and trots out back into the fighting.

Her sights land on a large Terraclan tom (Risingstorm) and runs over to face him. Maplepaw hopes that by stopping this big silver tabby here, she can stall him from assisting his clanmates. She just has to stall until Fernstar can defeat Terrastar. There's no way her leader could take this invasion lying down. The only reason Terrastar got one of her lives is because he ambushed her, she believes.

Clearing her throat, the apprentice looks at the warrior carefully. Maybe he will be like her and rather talk than fight? "My name is Maplepaw," she starts, hoping she hasn't misjudged him.

Taking a moment to rest after her last fight, Sootheart makes sure none of her clanmates need her help. She spots Mintwhisper fighting another she-cat and has to do a double take. Is she flirting with her opponent? The grey warrior shakes her head in amazement. That's new.

Feeling energetic again, Sootheart charges at the first lone cat she doesn't know. She's soon face to face with a brown tom with a scar across one eye. Maybe she's still affected by seeing Mintwhisper flirt because Sootheart is struck by how attractive this other cat looks. No! Bad Sootheart. Pay attention.

She lunges at the tom. She doesn't know if it's because she's distracted, because she had a battle before this, or because he is simply that strong, but Sootheart doesn't get away without injury. The brown tom escapes from their battle and Sootheart doesn't chase him. She can recognize his fleeing as conceding.

Taking a step, Sootheart winces. There is a slash across her chest that is staining her white fur there with deep red blood. That warrior was tough and Sootheart acknowledges that Aetherclan is stronger than she expected. Flame colored eyes find Oakdapple and Foxpaw in the outskirts of the fighting and makes her way over to them. She just needs this troublesome bleeding to stop then she can get back out there.
